I frowned. “Are you sure that method is feasible?”
“I have been tempered in my grandfather’s hands since I was a child, don’t you think?”
I thought of Grandpa’s stare at me just now. Well, it’s better to listen to Cheney.
When I got home, I changed my sportswear and put on my home clothes.
Cheney said he was going to go to the company.
But when I lay in bed, Cheney sat down on the other side of the bed.
When I saw him doing that, I said, “Aren’t you going to the company?”
“There is no hurry to go. I’ll go later.”
Looking at his eyes, I hesitated and said, “Do you have something to say to me?”
“Today, I didn’t expect Flora to come.”
It turned out to be this topic. I think what he wants to express should be no different from Uncle Jacob and Grandma.
“I know that if you had known in advance, you wouldn’t have promised to take us out.”
“When Flora asked who you were, I didn’t answer. Do you feel wronged?”
I shrugged, “No, I don’t know Flora’s situation. If I know the truth, the person who should be wronged is not me, but Flora.”
He frowned, “Do you really think like that? Was that the position you put yourself into?”
I thought about it. “I was occupying the place that should have belonged to Flora.”
“The person who should have your position is not necessarily Flora, so don’t say that again,” He stood up. “You rest, I’m going out.”
I pouted, did he get angry?
Cheney’s POV
When I was out of the room, I stood by the door.
She is a woman who doesn’t think of herself as serious to me at all.
Therefore, she will think that the position she has does not belong to her, and she will say that she occupies the magpie nest.
I was really upset at the thought of the distance she kept from me.
On the third day after the incident, Krista finally summoned up her courage and talked to me to come to the Plum Court.
As soon as Grandpa saw us, he threw his parrot food on the table with a hum and turned to walk to the study.
I said, “Grandfather, where are you going?”
“Do you care?”
I said, “Yes, yes, I do care about you, but Krista and I came to have a meal with you and grandma. You can go after eating.”
“I won’t eat, my blood pressure is high.” Grandpa said, and threw the door into the study.
Krista nodded at me, and I looked sideways at her with a forbearing smile on my lips
She gave me a white look and said, “Don’t laugh.”
When she finished saying that, we walked to the door of Grandpa’s study and knocked on the door. “Grandpa, can I come in?”
Grandpa’s strong and old voice came from the study. “I want to be alone, and no one is allowed to disturb me.”
In another room, Grandma, who heard the sound, came out.
When Krista and I came, she took a shortcut and said, “Why are you two here? Have you eaten yet?”
I hugged my arms and said, “I came to have lunch with you, but grandfather is really too difficult. Look, your grandson’s wife came to apologize and was turned away.”
Grandma went to Krista’s side, took her hand and left the door of the study. “Don’t pay attention to your grandfather, he has a lot to do.”
“Grandma, I did something wrong, and it is a matter of course to apologize.”
“It’s not strange if you don’t know. Your grandfather is a big man. Don’t pay attention to him. Come and sit with Grandma for a while.”
Krista was pulled to the sofa by grandmother and sat down.
I looked around and asked, “Where’s Afra?”
“Upstairs tutoring, this child has had a good interest in learning recently.”
Grandma got up and said, “You two sit for a while, I’ll go and see your grandfather, and after Afra’s tutoring, we’ll have a meal.”
After Grandma left, Krista whispered, “Am I early? Grandpa seems to be still angry.”
“I said, it’s not too late for you to come over in half a month. You have to be stubborn, and now you regret it?”
She pouted, “I still think it’s better to admit mistakes earlier if you did something wrong.”
“Some people can’t play cards according to common sense.”
She said, “No, I must win the forgiveness of your grandfather and old man’s tantrum today. Otherwise, when I sleep at night, I dream that I am eating thousands of dollars of fish with chopsticks, which is a double torture for my spirit and body.”
I chuckled sideways.
She pinched my arm gently. “I told you not to laugh at me.”
“You dare to eat Grandpa’s baby Arowana, with that, I can laugh for several years.”
She snorted and ignored me.
Krista’s POV
After playing more than a dozen chess games with Grandpa, he was finally coaxed. When Cheney and I went back to our yard, we found Flora there.
She was sitting in a wheelchair at the moment, her eyes wandering back and forth on Cheney and me.
Cheney said, “It’s so late, why are you here? Where’s Uncle Jacob?”
“Dad went out and hasn’t come back yet. I was bored in the house alone, so I asked the nurse to take me to you. I didn’t think you were there.”
Flora said and looked at me. “You went out with Miss Krista.”
“No, Miss Flora misunderstood. Mr. Cheney was at the Plum Court just now, and I was coming to help Afra pick up the math problem book she left here last night, so I came with Mr. Cheney.”
Then I said to Cheney, “Mr. Cheney, I’m going to get my workbook first.”
I went into the house, looked around, picked up a thin book, and ran out to the door. “Mr. Cheney, Miss Flora, I’ll go back first, so you can talk slowly.”
“Miss Krista.” Flora stopped me.
I stopped and looked back at her. “Miss Flora, what else?”
“I told my father that this weekend, I want to invite everyone to have dinner together. I am grateful to everyone for taking care of me all the time. Will you come with us then?”
I sipped my lips. “I won’t go. After all, I didn’t do anything for Miss Flora.”
Flora smiled gently. “Miss Krista, I’ve slept for four years, and I don’t have any friends around me. I want to call everyone together for fun, but I don’t know who else to call. I happened to meet you today. I feel that it is fate for everyone to get to know each other in the Fischer’s mansion. Although it is abrupt, if you don’t hate me, would you please come to the weekend? Think of it as… let’s have fun together. ”
I hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded.
“Then I’d rather be respectful than obedient. Miss Flora, Afra is still waiting for me. I’ll go back first.”
When I finished saying that, I nodded to the two people and turned to leave.
