The door was pushed open from the outside, and the person who came in was Luke with a troubled face. Seeing that Cheney was there, Luke turned his eyes slightly, rushed forward and respectfully said, “Mr. Cheney, you are here.”
Cheney sat with his legs crossed. “Are you sure I can’t be here?”
“No, no, no, Mrs. Fischer called me today and requested a private conversation with me about something urgent. I was hoping you would show up. It’s a privilege to meet you here.”
Cheney averted his gaze and continued to ignore him.
“Krista, you have guests, so I’ll go for a walk first, and contact me later when you need me,” Echo remarked as she stood up.
I nodded and Echo got up and left. I turned to Luke and said, “Mr. Luke, please sit down.”
“No, no, no, Mrs. Krista, you have      something to say. Just tell me. I’d better stand and listen.”
I said, “It’s not working time. I don’t have anything to teach you. I invited you to come because I want to ask you for help.  Don’t be too polite. Please sit down.”
He glanced at Cheney, and slowly walked aside and sat down. I personally picked up the glass, poured Luke a glass of wine and placed      it in front of him. “This is the wine ordered by my husband, which must suit Mr. Luke’s taste.”
“Thank you, I have no idea what you want      me to do today.”
I picked up my glass and took a sip. “No orders, I just want to give you a chance to throw away the dark.” Luke is still playing dumb.
“I don’t understand what Mrs. Fischer means.”
“Everyone’s time is precious, so I won’t beat around the bush with you. Over the years, you have followed Brent and done a lot of bad things for him. I have to deal with the Brennan group, so I’m giving  you a chance to get out. Do you choose to continue to follow Brent against me and the Fischer group, or do you want to give up Brent and take refuge in us?”
He frowned and kept silent.
I’m not in a hurry to force him to make a choice. I just took out my mobile phone and called Echo. “Echo, have you met your friend? Is she finished?”
“Everything is okay.”
“Then come and let’s have a drink together.” I put my phone on the desk, and within a few minutes, Echo pushed the door with Fay and walked in. The moment he saw Fay, Luke swallowed unconsciously. I got up, walked up to Fay, took her hand, and naturally said, “Fay, I hope I’m not interrupting your work.”
“No, coming here just for you to see me is a great thing.” She said, looking at Luke sitting on the opposite.
I took Fay and Echo to sit down and said to Luke, “Mr. Luke, you should know my sister, right? Do you still need me to introduce you?”
Luke nodded. “Mrs. Fischer, Fay and I are old friends.”
“I’ve heard some from the people around me, but you’ve done a lot of things to my sister Fay.”
“Mrs. Fischer, Luke has done more than one thing to me. He has done more than one or two things to his conscience,” Fay said coldly.
On the side, Echo echoed, “Sister Fay, there are some words that can’t be said without evidence.”
“Sister Echo, do you think I am the kind of person who can talk nonsense?”
I looked down and smiled. “It seems that Sister Fay really has evidence in her hand.”
I turned to a guilty Luke and chuckled. “Mr. Luke, do you think Brent will save you even if something comes to light?”
He looked at me and said, “Mrs. Fischer… there are things that won’t do the Brennan group any good if they come to light.”
“Yes, you’re right. As far as I know about my stepfather, he will throw the blame for everything that is bad for the Brennan group. Just like six years ago, he made my father Samuel take the blame for the Cross River Bridge. My father jumped into the cold water and never came back, but Brent still sat in the president’s seat and felt relaxed. Why do you think it’s like that?”
Luke has been with Brent for so many years that it is impossible not to understand Brent. Seeing that he looked shaken, I continued, “I bet you that if what you did came to light, Brent would never take care of you, but would shift all the responsibilities to you, and you would become the one who took the blame, because none of these things were done by Brent’s hand. In the end, only you Luke yourself were unlucky.”
He frowned and looked at me. “Mrs. Fischer, what do you want me to do for you?”
My eyebrows are slightly raised. “Everyone here is smart, so I’ll go straight to the point. I want you to tell the truth about the Cross River      Bridge accident six years ago.”
He fell silent again. I winked at Echo, she got up, pulled Fay, and the two quietly left the private room.
I didn’t rush Luke, but comfortably picked up the juice and took a sip. Luke looked at Cheney and said, “Mr. Cheney, can I talk to you alone?”
I got up and said to Cheney, “Cheney, I’ll go for a walk at the door.”
He patted my hand. “Don’t go far.”
“I see.”
Cheney’s pov
After Krista went out, Luke faced me with a serious face and said, “Mr. Cheney, the Cross River Bridge is not a problem you should get yourself involved with. In order to stabilize the media, Mr. Brent negotiated with the internal executives of the Fischer group, and finally made the decision to let the engineers come forward to take the blame. If I speak now, it will not only bring trouble to the Brennan group, but also drag the Fischer group into the water.”
“Whether the Fischer group will be dragged down is not something you should consider,” I glanced at him. “I advise you, Krista is the best person who knows everything and you should know exactly how the Brennan group is doing. You’d better think clearly. If you can’t grasp the opportunity given by Krista, you can only die with the Brennan group.”
Luke nodded and looked firm. “Well, with your words, I am willing to be a cow and a horse for you and tell the truth of what had happened that year.”
I pointed to the door. “Go and invite my wife back.”
After listening to me, Luke got up and walked to the door.
