Chapter 47

Book:Billionaire's Exclusive Wife Published:2024-5-1

Cheney’s POV
I looked at the clock on the wall. “I’m going out later. Go upstairs and have a rest.”
She didn’t object and soon went upstairs to rest. I drove away from Fischer’s mansion. When I arrived at the company, I called Milo into my office alone.
After sitting down, I knocked on the table. “Here are three things for you. First, get Anthony, the lawyer. I want him to work on the proof that my wife is separated from her mother. Second thing, this afternoon, I’m going to have a small party at the Royal Club, and you’re going to invite all the partners, and I’m going to talk to you about the development of the enterprise in the second half of the year. The third thing is to send the Cross River Bridge information I asked you to check last time back to Fischer’s mansion and give it to Krista.”
Milo said respectfully, “Sure thing sir, I will do it right away.”
I put out a finger and reminded him, “These three things should be done in secret, okay?”
“Okay, sir.”
Gia snorted coldly and didn’t bother to talk to him anymore.
Zaniyah’s POV
I’m very nervous about not succeeding yesterday. Dad suddenly called me and told me that Cheney was having a party this afternoon at the Royal Club to discuss business development and asked me if I was interested in attending.
“Yes, I’m interested, Dad. You have the invitation sent back. I want to go.”
Yesterday, when I came back to watch the surveillance, I saw Cheney go to the waste factory. I knew that my plan had failed, and I was wondering how to explain it to Cheney. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I couldn’t miss it.
Milo’s POV
At noon, I drove to Fischer’s mansion. When I entered the door, I happened to meet Rashad who was going out.
He waved to me. “Hey, this is our omnipotent Milo.”
I said respectfully, “Mr. Rashad.”
“You came to see my uncle?”
“Sir Cheney is not here. I came to see his wife on his behalf.”
He held his arms and looked down at the file bag in my hand. I quickly put the file bag behind me and said goodbye. “Mr. Rashad, I have something to do, so I won’t accompany you.”
“What’s that?” He pointed to the brown paper bag in my hand.
“Sir Cheney asked me to bring these documents to his wife.”
“What is it?”
“I am not very clear about what it is.”
“Not curious? Open it and have a look.”
I looked at him with a serious face, “Mr. Rashad, I am Sir Cheney’s secretary, without his order, I absolutely won’t open his file because he does not allow others to view the document.”
“Well,” he hooked his lips. “You do your job.”
I turned into Fischer’s mansion.
Rashad’s POV
I walked not far away, got into the car, and just sat on it. Less than ten minutes later, Milo came out. Seeing him leave, I got out of the car and returned to Fischer’s mansion.
Take the path, and I come to the Jade Court. When the servants of the Jade Court saw me, they all got a fright. “Mr. Rashad, why are you here?”
I looked around. “I’m looking for my uncle.”
“The young master is not here.”
“Not here? Today is Sunday, how can he not be here? He won’t tell you that when you see me in the future, you will be so perfunctory.” I told the servant, and I went straight inside.
The servant caught up with him. “Mr. Rashad, he is really not here.”
I went directly into the living room, looked around, and pointed to the slightly open door in the study room. “Is anyone here?
I went to the door of the study room and pushed it open. When I enter, I can see Krista in the study room quickly starting to clean up the papers spread out on the table and stack them together.
She looked at the door with displeasure. “Rashad, why are you so impolite? Why don’t you knock when you enter other people’s rooms?”
I embraced the approach, “This is my second uncle’s study room, you can be there, why can’t I?”
“I am his wife.”
I pie my mouth, “Then I am still his nephew. I am connected with my second uncle by blood, but you don’t. Can I doubt that you peek at my second uncle’s documents and steal trade secrets here?”
She stood up, looked up, and raised her chin. “What nonsense questions, you get out of here.”
I glanced down at the papers on the desk. She covered the document so that I couldn’t see anything. I leaned against the door. “When my uncle comes back, I will go out at once.”
“Well, if you don’t go out, then I’ll go out.”
She picked up the papers and held them out. I pointed to the document in her hand. “Isn’t this my uncle’s thing?”
“You have to take care of it.” She said, looking at the servant at the door. “Look at this young master. Don’t bring him tea and water until Cheney comes back. Don’t let him touch anything here. If he dares to move, call the police immediately.”
“Hey aunt, don’t be so mean. I haven’t offended you recently.”
She rolled her eyes.
Krista’s POV
I gave him a gouge, which made him angry. I was just looking at the Cross River Bridge. The drawings in the Fischer group file are actually the same as those of the Brennan group, which means that the Fischer group colluded with the Brennan group.
This has nothing to do with Cheney, so it’s only possible that Baron’s side killed Dad. Rashad was Baron’s grandson, Wyatt’s son, and I hated him even though he had little success or power in the Fischer group.
Ignoring him, I went straight to the door. He blocked my way, and the man in front of me hooked his lips. “Do you think that if you don’t say it, others won’t know what you are doing?”
“What I did has nothing to do with you, right? I advise you to mind your own business, or continue your attitude as a playboy and leave me alone.” I glanced at him, pushed him away, and went straight out.
