I got up and said to Echo, “Okay, Echo, now that things are settled and it’s getting late, let’s go back.”
“Okay,” Echo got up and said to Fay, “Sister, let’s leave a contact number to each other. I have had a very good relationship with my cousin since I was a child. She left, and I have been very uncomfortable. It is fate to see you today. In the future, when you don’t go to work, we can meet and go shopping together.”
“Is this … okay with you?”
“Of course. What’s wrong? Oh, yes, let me introduce myself. I’m Echo. The farmer’s market in City A belongs to my family. I’ll take you for a walk in the future.”
Fay smiled. “My name is Fay.”
She said, leaving a phone number with Echo.
Echo and I left the Lotus Club, got in the car, and we clapped.
I really didn’t expect things to go so smoothly.
Echo said, “Next, you must never show up in front of this woman again. Leave it to me.”
I gave her a thumbs up. “I’m waiting for your good news.” I said with a smile.
It was after nine o’clock when I took Echo home and drove back to the Fischer’s mansion.
I was in a hurry and was blocked at the door by Rashad.
He came to my car and I had to drop the window.
“I have been waiting for you for a long time.”
I gave him a sideways look. “What do you want?”
He laughed, “Guess what?”
I couldn’t help but frown. “Rashad, what the hell do you want? Don’t beat around the bush with me here.”
“Today, I helped you at least. Is it possible that I don’t even have the qualifications to be invited to merit?” He raised his hand calmly and picked his nails indifferently. “If you can’t invite me here, I can only find my uncle.”
I stared at him. “Are you threatening me?”
“My uncle would never let you go to such a place to play. Did you go there secretly today?” He asked.
He smiled evilly and said, “If he comes out now, I don’t know if my mouth will be sealed or not. But don’t worry, I already helped you with some other people today but it still depends on you. Should I shut my mouth up or not?
“Just say what you want.”
“Oh, what can I do? I just want to ask for a merit. After all, it is rare for me to help other people in need.”
“Okay, then let me give credit,” I hugged, leaned back and looked at him outside the window. “But in my opinion, you take credit for a purpose.”
“Aunt is still awesome. I am particularly curious now. What is your purpose for going to the Lotus Club tonight?”
I frowned. “My best friend already said that she insisted on pulling me to see the world. What’s the other purpose?”
“Aunt, you are really dishonest. Just in the bar, I asked you what your purpose was, and you were clearly guilty.”
I disdain to smile, “Don’t be too self-righteous, you overestimate what you see and what you doubt.”
“Yeah, that’s what I thought, too. So, I went to talk to the men your best friend talked to. They said that your best friend inquired about Fay a lot. Hey, you said, what did your best friend ask about Fay?”
My eyes were cold. “Rashad, I told you not to be self-righteous.”
With that, I pushed his arm away, stepped on the gas and drove the car into the Fischer’s mansion’s garage.
Back at the Jade Court, Cheney was reading on the sofa in his bedroom.
After entering the door, I smiled at him with some guilt. “I’m back.”
He didn’t answer, but just looked up at the clock on the wall.
I scratched my eyebrows. “It seems a little late. I want to tell you something.”
He put the book in his hand on the coffee table.
I went to the bed and sat down and looked at him. “Just now, I went to the bar in the Lotus Club with Echo. Then… When Echo went to the bathroom, he was harassed by a drunk man. I came forward to help her and almost got beaten. It turned out that Rashad, who happened to be there, helped us.”
Cheney’s face sank.
I looked down and didn’t dare to look at him. “We just wanted to go out for a meal and watch a movie at first. Who knew that when we chatted, we started gambling. I was also brave and shouted at her to go with me.”
“As a result, how was the bar? Was it fun?”
I firmly shook my head. “It’s too noisy, and the eyes of people with light sway hurt, and the atmosphere inside is not particularly good. Men and women are shoulder-to-shoulder, so they don’t pay attention to the image of one another.”
He hugged his arms and looked serious. “Will you go in the future?”
“I will never go again, it’s too boring, super boring, really.”
He said coldly, “Remember it for me, and if you go again next time…”
“I will never go. If I go again, I will just waste my energy.” I interrupted him, speaking so firmly that I almost swore to God.
The expression on Cheney’s face eased a little.
“Remember your words and go get a shower.”
I got up and smiled to myself. I escaped!
The next morning, I rushed to the construction site.
In the afternoon, Cheney called me and asked me to accompany him to a charity dinner tonight.
In the evening, Gia came to pick me up.
When she saw me, she frowned. “Miss Krista, I came to pick you up on the order of my senior. The senior also said to let me take you to buy an expensive dress and dress up. So miss, are you going?”
“Is there a reason not to go, woman? It takes my husband’s money to make my husband have a sense of existence. Miss, you are not married yet, so there is no way to deeply understand this.” I said, hook my lips and get in the car.
Gia probably checked me out and realized that I was a thrifty person, otherwise she wouldn’t have asked such a question.
Sure enough, her expression sank. “Miss Krista seems to be different from what the rumors say.”
“In the rumor? What did the rumor say about me?”
She thought about it. “It’s nothing.”
When she came to the door of the women’s clothing store, Gia got out of the car and saw that I had never got out of it. She was unhappy and said to the driver, “Go and open the door for Miss Krista.”
The driver hurriedly opened the door. “Miss Krista, here we are.”
I sneered. “If you call me Miss Krista, it seems like a stranger. In the Fischer family, people call me Mrs. Fischer.”
The driver quickly changed his words and said, “Sorry, Mrs. Fischer.”
I got out of the car and walked to Gia’s side. “Miss Gia, I don’t care how close you are to your seniors. To me, you are a stranger and Cheney’s female secretary, so it doesn’t matter what you call Cheney, but when you call me, it’s better to call me Mrs. Fischer. After all, the Fischer family is a place that pays attention to decency.”
After saying that, I walked into the dress shop.
In order to annoy her, I specially bought the most expensive one.
After I changed my dress and put on my makeup, I was sent to the hotel owned by the Fischer group.
Cheney is waiting for me in the car.
