Chapter 71 An Invite

Book:The Billionaire Prick Published:2024-5-1

Two weeks after all the drama that had happened, Sofia’s mum had already been laid to rest the past week and it was quite emotional and stressful for both the Lorenzo’s and the Bernard’s.
Most especially Sofia since she had refused to take condolences from anyone. She just told them she was fine and wanted to concentrate on her relationship with Max and the baby they are expecting.
The get-together they had planned before all those events had already been fixed for this present week.
It had been a long they had come together to have a fun relaxing time with all their families so after the burial rites they performed for Lilliana, they decided to fix a date for the get-together and decided on the week after the burial.
“Hello,” the woman from the other side answered breathlessly.
“Er… hi, this is Audriana Lorenzo, we met at the conference in LA some days back… hello… are you okay?” she paused when she heard shuffling and a loud cough coming from the woman at the other side.
“Yeah, I am fine, thank you. How are you too?” she asked with a gruff voice then coughed again.
“I am good too, you okay?” Audriana asked with concern lacing her words.
“Yes, just a bit of cold here” she answered.
“Okay, er… remember I told you we were going to organize a get-together with my family and would confirm with you if you would be able to come?” she asked.
Not knowing what she was saying she just agreed with a not then realized she couldn’t see her nod so she answered.
“Yeah, I do” she yawned then placed the phone on the bed and stretched.
When sated she picked up the phone and lay on the bed as she looked at the ceiling.
“Will you?” she heard Audriana ask from the other side of the line.
“Will I what?” she asked back, confused by what she must be asking.
“You didn’t hear me. I asked if you will be available this Friday for the get-together. I can’t wait to introduce you to my family, I already told them about you” she said excitedly.
“Oh, okay, yeah I would be available” she replied with a smile.
“Okay, that is fine. I will send you an invite and please remember it’s just family and friends, we don’t want too much crowd” Audriana said.
“No problem, I will keep that in mind”
“Okay, see you then” she hung up the phone and placed it on her bedside table.
She couldn’t resist the smile that formed on her lips and she had to bite her lower lips to keep herself from laughing out loud.
She stood up and stretched again then walked to the balcony of her room and looked out in the field.
The day hasn’t started fully and he already had a good day.
“This will be a lot of fun, I cant wait for it to start in full,” she said to herself.

“Hello to one of my favorite humans” Audriana hugged Sofia firmly when she opened the door to see her standing there with a teddy bear in her hand and her beautiful smile.
“Come on in, did you come alone?” she asked giving way for the pregnant lady to enter and checking outside for any sign of Max.
“Nope, Max refuses to let me off his sight aside from when he has meetings or he goes to the bathroom or does other personal stuff I can’t be involved in.”
“Aww… he is so sweet” Audriana cooed and went to sit on the couch she was sitting on before her bestie came and snatched her bowl of crackers from the table right before Sofia could notice it.
“I will still get it from you, emotionally or physically” Sofia warned then took a seat in front of her.
Audriana let out a huff of breath with an eye roll then continued eating her crackers.
“Oh, you think you will succeed as the last time?” she chuckled and shook her head. “Think again dear, you might not get lucky this time”
Sofia sniffed the air and glared playfully at her friend.
“Do…” she paused like she was in thought “Do I smell a threat?” she whispered asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Take it as you see it or smell it” Audriana whispered back and winked at her.
“You are something else” Sofia muttered under her breath and looked at the blank TV.
“Is it just I or you are glowing? I noticed it these past few days” Audriana commented after a while.
“Well, we have Max to thank for. He is going to be a great dad, I can assure you that” she answered with a smile.
“He is so attentive, caring, considerate, would call to ask how I am doing when he leaves to grab some files in his office or when he goes to buy groceries… he is just the perfect guy, and I am glad I am marrying someone like him,” she said with all the love she felt for him.
Audriana saw how happy and content her friend sounded as she talked about the man she loves. Finally, she can be happy, now that she is starting her own little family.
She lost her dad early and recently just lost her mum and knew how hard it was for her that she could even stay strong and not cry too much or let her situation put her down.
She has known her friend for over twelve years and it just gives her joy to see her this happy and joyous.
Sofia is very happy and content with the family around her that supports her but she knows deep down she still feels sad that she has lost her family and would sometimes feel alone.
She could remember some years back when the doctors told her about her mum’s condition, how shattered and sad it made her friend made her sad too. It was like both of them shared the same emotions because she seems to feel what she feels.
When she knew about Max finally she saw that glow she didn’t think she would see in her friend. It was like a dead part of her came back alive and she started to blossom.
She was glad Max completes her and makes her happy as she is to be.
Her eyes watered as she thought about all those things and didn’t realize when the tears began falling.
Not until she felt a hand wipe her tear-stained cheeks before she knew she was actually crying.
She turned to look at Sofia who was sitting beside her with a comforting look on her face as she kept wiping those tears away.
“Why are you crying? You are going to make me cry” Sofia said with a bit of chuckle and Audriana joined in chuckling.
“Nothing, I am…” she sniffed and cleared her throat before continuing “I am just happy you are finally happy”
“What do you mean by that? You, mum, dad, aunt, uncle… you all make me happy, standing by me when I needed my family closer to me. You guys make me happy” her lips quivered as she spoke and a tear dropped down her cheeks.
“I know, but I watched you talk about Max and saw how happy you are like you look complete and I am sure you do feel complete.”
“Yes, I do, he makes me complete and tells me every time I make him complete too.” she cleaned her face and sniffed a bit.
“I am glad I found love and pray to the Almighty that he settles you too,” she told her friend.
“I love you girl, I am so lucky to have you in my life,” she said to her and hugged her.
“I love you too girl” Sofia replied.
“Now, I am convinced I am not the married one” they shrieked when they heard a voice say from the door.
Dimitri was there standing and giving them weird looks and saw their face looked like they cried.
“I would love to sit and ask what the issue is but I have work to do so see ya ladies later,” he said and walked out.
“He would change,” Sofia said and Audriana shrugged in return.
