“Okay, it’s all sorted out. I don’t need anything going wrong now, am I clear?” she said to the man on the other line.
“Yes, madam” he replied.
“You are sure she would be there?”
“Very sure”
“Good, I will give you your pay by the end of the day and if it would satisfy you better you could come over later tonight, and bring in a bottle of wine” she smiled applying the last makeup which was her usual hot red lipstick.
“It’s fine ma’am, I will be expecting the pay by evening” he declined her latter offer.
Her lips twisted in a frown and she had to take in deep breaths to calm herself. No one has ever rejected her, she was the one to throw them away like trash and decline and offer not the other way round.
“Okay, bye,” she said and disconnected the call. “His loss, I am a spec,” she said as she looked at her reflection in her bathroom mirror.
“It’s going to be a good day. I can feel it. I know it.” she closed her eyes imagining how her day would turn out to be and opened them to a smiling face.
“I better hurry then” she applied one more touch of blush to both cheeks before exiting the bathroom and going to grab her purse on the bed.

“So how are you feeling?” she looked at the floor-to-ceiling mirror as she assessed her outfit for the day’s event. She was nervous and excited at the same time.
Her friend was speaking to her from her laptop in a video call as she helped her pick clothing for the day and helped her calm down.
This was going to be one of the best events she hosted in her years as a ‘techie’ so it was overwhelming for her and she is trying to stay positive, hoping nothing goes wrong at all.
She had talked to her dad and mum earlier then got a call from her parents-in-law which was uplifting for her before she put through a video call to her bestie who was eating a bowl of cereal and jelly bread.
“I am so nervous but excited” she explained what she felt.
“I am excited for you too but you need to put yourself together and let it flow,” Sofia said putting two slices of bread in her mouth and chewing.
“I know you can pull through anything, you just need to be calm and collected so it can flow easily. Just imagine you are teaching your students some new discovery, exciting huh?”
“Yeah, very. Are you sure this is okay?” she twirls around again showing her the outfit that consists of a navy blue flared gown with her hair up in a neat bun, a little amount of makeup on her face, and was paired with a pair of flats.
“Yup, I am positive about it. Remember I am your fashion eye” they both said the last sentence together.
One of their many phrases.
“Baby girl thank you” she walked to her bed and sat down looking at her friend who is comfortably stuffing her face with pizza.
“Where did you get the pizza from?”
“Hi, Audri” Max came into view, hugging Sofia from behind, and waved at her to which she waved back.
“Hi Max, how are you doing? I can see you are taking good care of my girl, here” she wriggled at them and Max looked at Sofia and placed a kiss on her cheeks leaving Sofia to blush.
“I am good thanks, she is my world so I have to take great care of her,” he said kissing her cheeks again.
“That good but please don’t give her too much junk food to eat”
“I can’t help it especially when she nicely ask me.” he shrugged.
“Sofia, remember you are carrying little you’s, we need more healthy eating especially wi-” she cuts herself off when Sofia widened her eyes as if to shut her up.
“Especially what?” max asked looking at her then to the side of Sofia’s face.
“Er… em… er…” Sofia stuttered not knowing what to say to him.
“I meant especially when I am not there to control her excessive eating” Audriana came to her rescue and she internally thanked her dear friend for putting her off the hot seat.
“Oh… uh… okay?” he said sounding so unsure whether to believe them or not.
“Yeah, I need to leave now, the conference starts in thirty minutes. Talk to you later, I will call you after Sof” she said and she nod then disconnected the call immediately letting out a sigh.
She did a good job not letting it show on her face how mortified she was that she almost spill out some secret or so. But she was confused, for Sofia to have told her, she definitely must have told Max too since he is the father.
Well, she would have to ask her later and apologize.
“GOD, let today be wonderful” she prayed within and grabbed her phone, files, and a small purse, key card to her room, and walked out of her suite.

“Is she here?” a man in a black buttoned-up suit asked one of the organizers of the event.
“She will be here in a jiffy, please have your seat so we can begin already” he replied to him.
“Okay,” he walked to where he was sitting and sat down.
“Good day ladies and gentlemen, I am honored to welcome you to another edition of the ‘Gift Techies’ this time it was fully sponsored by our very own Audriana Lorenzo” everyone cheered, and the organizer who is referred to as Mr. Hilton continued.
“She has been a blessing and also an inspiration to the tech industry since her debut application that was made for the low vision community and since then has made numerous applications and also has a foundation she uses as a medium to help those in tech and who want to start a career in that path”
“So as we wait for her I will like to call on Mr. Ezekiel to start this off,” he said a and everyone cheered. “Mr. Ezekiel,” he looked at the brown-haired man in dark-rimmed glasses wearing a pair of blue jean trousers, a mixed-colored sweater, and white sneakers.
“The stage is yours” he left the little stage and went out of the room to call Audriana.
“Good morning ladies and gentlemen, as I have been introduced earlier, I am Ezekiel Mullen a software developer and AWS practitioner and I will be talking about migrating to the cloud and the services AWS offer and why we need to migrate our businesses to the cloud”
He opened his laptop and connected the HDMI cable to his laptop so he cam begins.
“So we all know AWS is a popular cloud-based service…”

“Why do I feel like I am forgetting something?” she asked herself when she walked towards the elevator then pressed the button and waited for it to open.
She just hoped she isn’t late for the event seeing as she would be the third speaker and it already started.
The elevator door opened and she entered then it started to close when heard a feminine voice saying ‘Hold the door please’ and she immediately put her hand to prevent the doors from closing finally.
The woman who had her red hair in the same style as she entered the elevator and bent forward with her hands on her knees as she tries to catch her breath.
“Whoo! Thank you ma’am” she said lightly when she wasn’t breathing too hard.
“Oh, you are welcome” Audriana replied and looked ahead waiting for the elevator to reach her floor.
“I like your dress, where did you get them from?” she asked and she turned to look at the red-haired woman with a smile on her face.
“Oh, thank you. My mum is a fashion designer so I get most of my clothing from her boutique” she answered.
“Then your mum must have a very unique taste” she complimented and her smile widened the more.
She loves when she hears good comments not just for herself but for people around her.
“Thank you, I will mention it to her then,” she said and looked at her dressing.
She was wearing a slim strap orange sweetheart fitted dress that reached just under her knee with white pumps, a white purse in hand, and a brown colored leather jacket in hand.
“Your dress is nice too” she commented.
“Oh, thank you so much. I am going for a conference meeting, I just hope I am not overdressing.”
“Well, if you are wearing the jacket over it is fine then” she replied her and the red-haired smiled at her and wore the jacket.
“Better?”
“You didn’t have to”
“No it’s fine, I always like to hear other people’s opinions too.”
“People’s opinion varies so you shouldn’t base on it, just be you” Audriana advised.
“Oh my GOD, I never in a million years believed I could meet someone sweet like you, thank you for the advise, I will be me for me,” she said.
Audriana smiled and faced her front. Just then the elevator opened and Audriana looked at her and waved then walked out and she followed her.
“Er… pardon me, I forgot to introduce myself formally. I am Daniella Copello, real estate manager and beauty personality.” she held her hand out for a handshake.
Audriana looked at it and shook her hand.
“Audriana Lorenzo,” she said.
“Ok- wait… oh my. Are you Audriana Lorenzo? The one hosting Gift Techies?” she asked in awe.
Audriana nods her head and smiled.
“Yeah, I am. You are attending?” she asked.
“Yes I am, it is so nice to finally meet you Audriana, I have followed you for these years, and it’s nice to finally meet you in person” she cooed and Audriana just nods her head still smiling.
“Thank you, it’s nice to meet you too but I need to get there now”
“Oh sure, sorry for delaying you, and thank you for giving me audience”
“Okay, see you later then” she said and walked away trying to shake off whatever feeling she was having towards the red-hair or rather Daniella.
“So we finally meet” she muttered and smirk then proceed to the conference room.
