She remembers how Thomas always commented how her hair smelled like a garden of roses. As she pass the dining room she could see King Erich was having a wonderful time. He had dinner entertainment.
She waved at him and made her way to the infirmary. She began to enter slowly. Suddenly she became nervous. She paused and took a deep breath. Sir Guillaume turned and saw her.
He quickly stood up and bowed.
“My dear Sir Guillaume, there is no need for that,” Amelia said. He reached for her hand and kissed it.
He motioned for her to sit.
“So how was your day, my sweet Sir Guillaume?” Amelia asked.
“Hard. My therapy is very painful.” Sir Guillaume replied.
“I am so sorry you have to go through this because of me. I owe you.” Amelia added.
All of a sudden Sir Guillaume turned the questions on Amelia.
“So my Lady, why all the attention towards myself? Not that I mind but.” Sir Guillaume asked.
Amelia was astounded by his question. “Truthfully?” Amelia whispered.
“Yes, my Lady.” Guillaume answered.
“Well Sir Guillaume, I am interested in you. I care about your well being. You are very important to me.” Amelia said.
“But? There seems to be something else” Sir Guillaume interrupted.
Amelia blushed.
“There are two things.” She said shyly.
“Alright?” Sir Guillaume replied.
“Foremost I have been having these feelings towards you but we can speak of it when you are better” She muttered.
Guillaume smiled and said “And?”
“I need your help with another matter but that can wait also. She added.
“Can I get a hint? Sir Guillaume asked.
Amelia smiled and whispered “You give me butterflies.”
Sir Guillaume smiled and said “Is that so?”
Amelia smiled.
“I meant about the second thing, my lady” he said quietly.
Amelia smiled and retorted “It is about Thomas.” “What about Thomas?” Guillaume asked.
“I hate to ask you but I have no other of trust. I need to know if Thomas is truly out to kill me. His words replay in my mind and I feel King Erich has created this lie to keep me here.” Amelia whispered.
“I thought you were here because you loved your King” Sir Guillaume said smugly.
“Oh Sir Guillaume, I feel no love for my King. Not the love he would like. I have tried but it does not grow. My heart flows free at the moment, it is something I have not felt in years.” Amelia responded.
“What is it that you would like me to do, my Lady? Remember he has tried to kill me as well.” Sir Guillaume said.
“I need you to accompany me to meet my brother David, he will have answers for me.” Amelia suggested.
“We will have to do it but when I am well, as not to arise suspicion in King Erich.” Sir Guillaume advised.
“You are very correct. So you will help?” Amelia asked.
“Of course, my Lady.” Sir Guillaume agreed.
“Now let us eat, I am starving and it is not every day a man gets to share a meal with such a beautiful lady” Sir Guillaume added.
Amelia smiled and began serving the food.
The word spread quickly about Amelia’s demise in Willshire. Everyone was preparing to mourn her passing but King Paul. He seemed distant and quiet.
“My Liege is all well?” His advisor asked.
“No it is not Logan, my vision is poor but that is not my sister.” King Paul asserted.
“But your Highness, Schillingburg said.” Logan answered.
“Schillingburg is up to something, I know in my heart that is not her.” King Paul interrupted.
“I will send a note to Landford, they will be able to confirm her death. Until then there will be no funeral. Also send a man to Schillingburg to find a Knight by the name Guillaume, he can help Willshire.” King Paul advised.
“I will not forgive Schillingburg for this act of treason. If Amelia is alive, Schillingburg should
prepare for battle.” King Paul ended.
Logan quickly gathered some men and prepared for their trip to Landford.
In a matter of days, a note arrived for Sir Guillaume. He found it very strange. King Paul of Willshire requesting his presence immediately. During one of the days Lady Amelia was out with the King, he decided to take the trip. Upon arriving at Willshire, he was escorted straightaway. He entered and bowed at the presence of King Paul at his throne.
“My Liege, you requested to see me?” Sir Guillaume asked shyly.
“Ah yes Sir Guillaume, your help is needed in Willshire.” King Paul replied.
“My Lord, I am part of Schillingburgs Court now, I cannot offer my aid.” Sir Guillaume responded.
King Paul rose from his throne and said sternly “Sir Guillaume, I sent you to Schillingburg to observe King Erich, not to become part of his court.”
Guillaume seemed uncomfortable.
“But my liege…” Sir Guillaume interrupted.
“No words can explain why you want to betray your kingdom, Willshire needs you and I am not asking you for help. I am telling you, you must obey YOUR king.” King Paul exerted.
Sir Guillaume bowed and said “What is my Kings need? I will gladly assist in what I can.”
King Paul laughed and replied, “That is more like it. I need you to find my sister and eliminate her.”
Sir Guillaume was confused.
“Schillingburg has sent me a dead girl proclaiming it is her & it is not. I do not know what King Erich is up to but I figure if Amelia is out there she threatens my throne. Having her alive hinders my Monarchy. She has just become a bother to all.” King Paul added.
Sir Guillaume bowed his head.
“My sister’s name is Amelia, she is supposed to be queen of Landford. She betrayed Willshire by releasing the murderer of King Michael so she must pay for that, as anyone else. Can you believe they sent over this poor girl’s body claiming it is Amelia? I know my sister and that it is not her.” King Paul added.
Sir Guillaume took a deep breath.
King Paul kept talking but Sir Guillaume was still dazed from what he was being asked to do.
“Pardon my lord but are you asking me to kill a Queen, the Queen of Landford?” Sir Guillaume asked.
“Do whatever you want with their Queen but she should not ever return to Willshire.” King Paul stated.
Sir Guillaume looked around the room confused.
“My grace, Where do I find her?” Sir Guillaume asked.
“I do not know, in Landford I suppose, just find her and do away with her! Oh and Sir Guillaume bring me her head as proof or I will have yours.” King Paul exclaimed.
