Now one thing my family knows about me is that although I’m not a heavy sleeper, I’m not a light one either. My body wakes when it times, according to my alarm. I can be lazy about waking up but I know when I definitely shouldn’t wake up. I shouldn’t wake up before my alarm but why was somebody not getting this.
“Leave me alone,” I grumble swatting my arm at the unwanted disturbance before rolling to the other side of my bed.
“Wakey wakey,” I heard someone sing before I start feeling something crawling on my body, legs, rough skin….
“Ahh!” I jump up the bed with a scream shaking my legs repeatedly, and trying to brush off any predator. I stop when my head start aching from all my screaming and also because someone was laughing on the floor of my room.
I recognize the laughter and I look down to see Aaron laughing his ass off, sitting on the floor and clutching his tummy. He calms down and wipes a fake tear off dramatically.
“What…”
He lifts his hand up showing me a black spider, I move back. “Is that real?”
He starts laughing all over again, shaking his head. I feel the anger boiling in my brain and reaching its boiling point, “You imbecile!”
“Calm down love,” he says standing to his feet.
“What are you even doing in my room this early,” I ask resisting the urge to strangle him.
“Its school time, your alarm is late.” He says going on my bed and relaxing on it, consuming the whole space.
“That’s doesn’t explain why you’re in my room,” I look at my open window, “did you let yourself in?”
“Your mum let me in,” he says with a smug smile.
“My mum… how does my mum know you and why would she let you in my room?” This doesn’t sound like my mum at all.
He shrugged, “my charm.”
I closed my eyes and breathe out just like YouTube said in other to calm my nerves. It doesn’t work though. I open my eyes and the anger is still there.
“You should get dressed; we don’t want to be late,” He says looking around my room from my pictures to my celebrity wallpaper.
“We? You know what just forget it,” I turn to remove my pajamas; he doesn’t make a move out of my bed. I turn back to him and put my hands on my hip looking at him squarely, “Aren’t you leaving?”
He smiles, his eyes glued to me, “Why would I be leaving?”
“Because I want to change?” Is he dumb?
“I don’t see how I’m in the way of that,” he smirks, his eyes shining in amusement.
“Ah I see you’re a pervert,” I say nodding at him. “Would you get out?”
He hops off my bed, walks to me and pats my cheek, “I’ll be waiting for you downstairs, if you need help zipping up don’t hesitate to holla me, scardy pants.” He leaves laughing.
I scream into my pillow stomping my foot. “One more minute with Aaron and I’ll go mad.”
I take my bath, dress up and come downstairs prepared to interrogate my mum or see if she’s been replaced with Aaron’s clone, he might have one. I can smell toast, scrambled eggs and coffee. Coffee I expect, toast and eggs I don’t. Mum doesn’t cook. I also hear giggles and laughter. What’s going on? Have the aliens taken over?
“Good morning mom,” I say getting into the kitchen and seeing my mum in front of the stove.
“Morning baby,” she kisses my cheek and brings down the frying pan, “breakfast is ready.”
I look around and see Aaron sitting on the table munching on toast. “What’s going on?”
“We’re having breakfast and we have a plus one. Aaron-lee,” She says smiling and pointing at Aaron who smiles and winks at her, she giggles places a plate on the table and sitting down.
I cautiously take my seat, looking at the breakfast in front of me. “Mom you cooked this?”
“Yes of course I did and guess who helped, Aaron-lee Darling.” She says.
“Oh Grace I’m flattered I didn’t do much, I just played assistant to a beautiful chef,” he says smiling at her.
“Grace?” I ask not believing my ears, “Grace? When did you and my mom get close Aaron?” That’s if this is still my mom.
“Your mom is such a Darling, we’ve become very good friends.” Aaron says winking at me.
“Since when you…” I hold back the cuss that was about to fly off my mouth.
“Noel, be nice.” Mum scolded me, before she turns back to Aaron, “Aaron-lee came to pick you up for school like the good friend he is, we started talking and I realized he’s a good kid. Its good you met someone like him.”
I snort not believing my ears, “since when do you pick me up for school?”
“Since now,” my mum answers for him. “Hurry up now, you guys don’t want to be late for school.”
I keep throwing glares at Aaron all through breakfast. He and my mum talk about little thing and I’m still confused as to how he won her over. I’m still angry at the fact that he woke me up using a rubber spider. I was completely freaked out. I don’t like insects and small leggy animals, my hatred for them goes way back. To show that I’m completely anti animal, I’m allergic to cats. Cats away keep the sneezes away.
Yes, last night I found out that I’m attracted to him. He’s really handsome, his eyes is mesmerizing, his body is drool worthy and sometimes he’s really sweet and makes me laugh. But I’m willing to overlook all this because of his attitude and jerkiness. I shouldn’t even be falling for him; it is not included in my little invisible bucket list. But it’s happening anyway.
“Bye mum.”
“Bye Grace.”
I shut the door and stare at his beautiful Mercedes parked in the drive way, I turn to glare at him but he’s already moving. I follow behind, “So time to spill your guts.”
“About what?” He asks innocently opening the car.
“Coming to my house at an illegal morning hour, winning my mum over with your juju, helping with breakfast and driving me to school?” I cross my eyes and squint my eyes at him, “what’s up?”
“The sky and a little cloud here and there. Ah see that one looks like a toothbrush,” he exclaims pointing up.
“Where?” I reluctantly ask looking up too. I love watching clouds move, and morph into different shapes. It was something my dad and I always did together. Whenever we see a shape in the sky, we would point it out to the other person no matter where we are or what we’re doing.
“There,” Aaron said stretching his hand higher. A laugh escapes my throat.
“Its looks more like a shoe to me,” I say observing the white cloud.
“No shoe is that long,” Aaron protest.
“And no toothpaste is that curvy,” I retort back.
“Says who? Have you seen all the toothpaste in the world?”
“Says me, I have an idea what a toothpaste should look like.”
“Look at it again it has that…” He’s face squeezes as he looks up, I look up too, “now… now it looks like a diaper.” I burst out laughing agreeing with him. Our shoepaste is gone and now looks like a full diaper. I turn to look at Aaron and he’s looking at me.
“What?” I ask him trying to stop my laughter. Maybe I look like a horse now, Caren always says my laugh is awkward like a horse’s sound. I hate Caren.
He shrugs, “you know how to laugh. It beautiful.”
I quickly frown and enter into the car, I don’t want him to see me blushing. He gets in later and drives us to school. The ride is silent– we silently fight over radio stations until he parks into his spot in the school parking lot.
I always see his car there so I just assumed its his spot. He opens the door and comes out of the car dramatically, one leg first, followed by another, then stretches so the either world knows he has muscles bulging out everywhere. I roll my eyes getting out of the car. And banging the door loudly, that snaps him out of his model daze.
“Hey careful with Mercy,” he says glaring at me.
“Mercy?” I say trying not to laugh, “you named your car Mercy?”
“Yea, Mercy Mercedes. She’s special.” He says looking at his car adoringly.
“More special than me?” I ask teasing him and even adding a mini pout.
“Uh,” he looks away cutely his hand moving to the back to his neck, “No.”
I start walking away shaking my head so he doesn’t see my reddened cheek and the huge smile on my face. “Hey wait up.”
.
.
Maths class is really wearing me out. Our maths teacher just gave a classwork that I’m so certain I would fail. Since the beginning of school I haven’t opened my math book to study or any book for that matter. This classwork was a big surprise and I’m sure my ‘F’ is gonna come as a big surprise to my maths teacher too. Yep, I don’t know his name.
“Assassin Creed, Temple run or Asphalt 8?” I ask myself scrolling through my phone as I shut my locker. I gasp as I see a person standing beside me, her face was covered by my open locker. “gosh, you startled me.”
She doesn’t say anything and just uses her eyes to scan me from head to toe like I’m some biology experiment. I do the same to her. She’s wearing a high waist jean pants, a crop off shoulders top, heels and her brown hair is flowing down her back, her olive skin shining brightly and her caked face was perfect. She was beautiful and obviously had class. “Who the hell are you?” She ask raising her perfect brow at me. She looks intimidating but I’m not the least bit shaken.
I take a step closer, “I could ask you the same thing.”
She scoffs a little, “Are you AL’s relative?”
“No, are you Aaron’s Mum?” I ask back.
“No, ofcourse not.” She looks offended, “how can you…” She stops when she sees the smug look on my face. She frowns stepping up to me, “Look you’re a new student and clearly don’t know how things work around here.”
“Well you’re right but unless you’re the you work in the Guidance and counselor office, I see no reason talking to you,” I say hating the fact that I’m talking here instead of collecting coins behind the screen of my phone.
“You would listen to me, that’s if you cherish yourself,” she says glaring at me.
“Opps it’s lunch time, I Cherish lunch more than every other thing, bye. See you later,” I brush pass her and walk to the cafeteria. I don’t know who she is but I don’t like her.
I enter the cafeteria get pasta for lunch then move to my table. I see Peyton’s face all lightened up as she smiles non stop. “What’s made you so happy?” I ask taking a seat.
“I’m just happy because I’m so sure that I already aced my maths classwork,” she says clapping her hands together. I groan putting a fork of pasta into my mouth. “What’s got you into a foul mood?”
I swallow the precious food, “well, I’m sure that I’m going to not ace my maths classwork and I had a run in at my locker with a rude girl.”
“What rude girl?” Nadine ask biting off the grass on her plate.
“Just some girl I don’t know, light brown hair, olive skin, intimidating posture, rude, and caked up face,” I say describing the girl to them.
“Oh my gosh don’t tell me you met with Quinn?” Nadine asked her jaw dropping.
“I don’t know who’s Quinn?”
“Really beautiful, shape of a goddess, perfect makeup, olive skin, intimidating–” Nadine was cut short by Liv.
“She wore a high waist Jean and a crop top.”
“Yep that’s the one, Quinn.” I confirmed.
“Oh my, what did she want with you?” Peyton asked concerned.
“She was trying to be the guidance and counselor to me,” I say stuffing my face with more food.
“Quinn doesn’t come to people for nothing,” Raymond says.
“Do you think her coming had anything to do with the fact that you arrived school today with Aaron in his car?” Peyton asked.
“What?” Nadine and Raymond says together while Liv smiles at me nodding approvingly.
“It was nothing, ” I say to Nadine and Raymond.
“Nothing is nothing when it comes to Aaron-lee, ” Nadine says looking at me, her eye wide like saucers.
I’m about to reply when I see Aaron walking towards me, Jesse by his side. Everybody notice and soon we’re all looking in the same direction. He walks to us, then pulls a chair  and sits on it around our table. We all look at him eye wide and he just gives us his thousand watt smile, “Hi guys.”
Jesse groans and pulls a chair too, he sits then waves to everyone turning to Peyton who’s beside him and winks at her. Poor Peyton goes into shock as her mouth opens and closes like a fish out of water. Jesse studies her for a moment then turns away probably deciding that she’s weird.
“Hi Noel,” Aaron greets.
“What are you doing here?” I ask through my gritted teeth.
” I plan on having lunch. ” he says
“But you don’t seat here.”
“Seats changes,” he says looking away from me and turning to Raymond, “hey Simpleton.”
Raymond clenches his fist, “its Templeton.”
“Yeah whatever,” Aaron says brushing him off. He turns to everyone, “Hope I’m welcome to sit here.”
“Yea ofcourse,” Liv says and Luke turns to look at her, she just shrugs.
“Thanks umm…”
“Olivia.”
He smiles, “thanks Olivia.”
“So what were we talking about?” Jesse asks picking Peyton’s sandwich, showing it to her and taking a bite.
“Just test and classwork,” I say trying not to flare at him.
“Gosh, that test was simple wasn’t it,” Aaron asks pushing my plate to himself.
Everyone nods, mumbling things. “What are we doing this weekend?” Jesse ask finishing up Peyton’s sandwich.
“I’m free, ” Liv says.
“Noel’s free too.” Aaron pipes in, I turn to glare at him.
“Great. Let’s go partying.”
Oh God, rescue me.

I’ll rather spend one lifetime with you than face all the ages of the world alone.
