The fat monk was younger than Master Troinis, but much bigger in size, wearing a wide monk’s robe, looking like a big fat monk.
The fat monk rushed into the room and stared angrily at Leo, asking, “Are you Leo?”
The fat monk didn’t have the calm demeanor expected of a monk, which surprised Leo and piqued his curiosity. Supposedly, the monks at the Jewelbloom Temple only eat one meal a day, so how could they produce such a big fat monk?
“I am Leo,” Leo replied calmly.
The fat monk’s expression turned even fiercer, “So you’re Leo! We didn’t come looking for you, but you came to us!”
“Second Junior Brother!” Master Troinis frowned.
The fat monk then turned to Master Troinis and bowed, but his tone remained angry, “Abbot, you must have heard the news from Third Junior Brother last night, it must be him!”
“Second Junior Brother, as a monk, the first thing is to cultivate the mind and moral character. Your temper, sigh…” Master Troinis sighed, feeling a headache towards his second junior brother.
Their conversation left both Madame and Leo confused. Leo was curious about the sudden arrival of the fat monk, interrupting their conversation.
“Leo, hand over Dharma’s Ancient Scriptures!” The fat monk demanded, looking like he was about to collect a debt.
“Dharma’s Ancient Scriptures, what is that?” Leo was puzzled.
But soon he remembered that he had picked up a Buddhist scripture after defeating Rafferty.
Seeing the fat monk looking as if he wanted to eat him alive, Leo realized that the Dharma’s Ancient Scriptures were just as important to the Jewelbloom Temple as the Dragon’s Eye. Leo quickly came up with an idea.
“Fat master, I found an ancient scroll, but I’m not sure if it’s the Dharma’s Ancient Scriptures you’re talking about.” Leo’s calm tone contrasted sharply with the fat monk’s impatience.
“Dharma’s Ancient Scriptures are written in Sanskrit on parchment, with a bodhi leaf at the beginning. Is what you have like this?” The fat monk asked urgently, then realizing what he said, he angrily added, “You, kid, who are you calling fat?”
Leo thought for a moment and nodded, “The scroll I found seems to be exactly what you described.”
“Dharma’s Ancient Scriptures are one of the three treasures of our temple. Since you found it, you should return it to its rightful owner!” The fat monk’s aggressive demeanor made Leo want to ignore him if he didn’t need something.
Leo looked at Master Troinis and said solemnly, “Master Troinis, I accidentally obtained the Dharma’s Ancient Scriptures after defeating a Demon Cultivator named Rafferty. I believe everything happens for a reason, and I would like to make a trade with your temple. What do you think, Master Troinis?”
“In a Buddhist temple, how can we talk about trades!” The fat monk interrupted, really annoying.
“Second Junior Brother!” Master Troinis lowly scolded, and the fat monk sensed the change in his senior brother’s tone, looking at him uncertainly before finally glaring at Leo.
“There is gain and loss in everything, what does the benefactor want to trade?” Master Troinis asked.
“Master Troinis is a wise person. I can return the Dharma’s Ancient Scriptures to your temple, but in exchange, I request to borrow the Dragon’s Eye to heal my friend’s eyes.” Leo proposed.
“Dragon’s Eye cannot be lent!” The fat monk objected.
After a brief silence, Master Troinis stood up and said solemnly, “Both benefactors, please follow me.”
Following Master Troinis out of the guest room, they headed towards the Celestial Sovereign Hall. Though the Jewelbloom Temple was not large, the Celestial Sovereign Hall was quite grand.
In the middle of the Celestial Sovereign Hall was a statue of Maitreya facing the mountain gate, with a welcoming smile. Behind it was a statue of the Buddhist guardian deity Vaisravana, looking fierce and majestic.
There were also four Heavenly Kings on both sides of the Celestial Sovereign Hall, two fierce-looking and two majestic-looking, known as the Four Heavenly Kings.
In addition, there were stone scripture pillars on both sides of the Celestial Sovereign Hall.
Entering the Celestial Sovereign Hall, the solemn environment made Leo’s expression serious. Master Troinis paid respects to the Buddha statue, recited some scriptures, and then turned to the fat monk, asking him to bring out the Dragon’s Eye.
Although the fat monk still looked angry, he couldn’t defy the order of his senior brother. Reluctantly, he went into the inner chamber of the Celestial Sovereign Hall.
The dragon is a mythical creature, with scales covering its body. It is the totem of the Atraria tribe, symbolizing auspiciousness.
According to legend, dragons can appear and disappear, can be small or huge, short or long. They ascend to the sky in spring and hide in the depths in autumn, controlling the wind and rain.
In feudal times, dragons symbolized the ultimate power of emperors.
A true dragon is immortal. Leo speculated that the Dragon’s Eye in the Jewelbloom Temple is the eye of a dragon.
Becoming a true dragon is extremely difficult.
In Leo’s anticipation, the fat monk soon came out holding a golden box, showing it in front of the Buddha statue with great respect.
It seemed that the Dragon’s Eye was inside the golden box, and Leo was eager to see what it looked like.
Master Troinis walked to the Buddha case and pointed to the gilded small box, saying slowly, “Leo, inside the box is Dragon’s Eye.”
Leo calmed his mind and walked towards the Buddha case, while his consciousness spread out.
As soon as his consciousness touched the small box, he could feel a strange and majestic aura.
At the same time, Leo knew that this gilded small box was a treasure, perfectly concealing the fluctuation of dragon aura, which could not be sensed without the use of consciousness.
Master Troinis bowed to the gilded small box, then respectfully opened it slowly.
When the box was fully opened, a surging dragon aura rushed out from inside.
At first, the dragon aura made Leo feel palpitations, but then his mind seemed to undergo some kind of tempering, giving him a transcendent feeling.
This transcendent feeling brought a wonderful tranquility to his mind and spirit, no wonder the Jewelbloom Temple regarded it as a treasure.
The actual Dragon’s Eye was not as magical as Leo had imagined; a fist-sized spherical object lay quietly in the box, with a gray texture making it look like a gray stone.
Master Troinis closed the gilded small box, and the dragon aura diminished and disappeared.
