Josiah snapped out of his shock and his face turned cold. “It seems I have to personally meet this little doctor!” he said with a determined look.
After speaking, Josiah threw his phone onto the table and loudly shouted towards the door, “Guards!”
“Here!” Immediately, a young man in military uniform rushed into the room from outside.
“Go to Langstel!”
“Yes!”
Meanwhile, at the Nameless Clinic…
“Dr. Bloomer, you don’t have to take this risk for me,” Marina said, her eyes filled with tears as she looked at Leo after Harvey had left. She was deeply moved.
She never expected that Leo would go against the Meredith family for her sake.
You see, when many noble families in the capital heard the name “Meredith family,” they would retreat in fear. Yet, Leo, a single person, dared to confront a whole family!
“You are my friend,” Leo replied simply.
“But even if Uncle Chapmanson returns, there will be others who come,” Marina said with a trace of pain on her face. She knew her father would never let her go so easily.
“Baldwin, right?” Leo sneered. “If he comes, it’s perfect. I want to ask him how he takes care of his sister. Pushing her into a pit is his way of showing affection, huh?”
“My brother can’t do anything…” Marina’s expression dimmed. She lowered her head and said softly, “He has already been punished by my father for this matter…”
Leo was slightly startled. It seemed he had misunderstood Baldwin.
Marina sat down on a nearby chair, feeling lost. “Many people envy us, children from prestigious families, but behind the glamour, there is pain that ordinary people can’t understand.”
“Under the interests of the family, personal interests are insignificant. Sometimes I wonder if I would be happier living in an ordinary family.”
Leo sighed softly. “Miss Meredith, I dare not make grand promises to help you, but I can guarantee that as long as you want to stay at the Nameless Clinic, no one can take you away.”
“Dr. Bloomer, I can’t burden you any longer,” Marina shook her head gently. “I’ve decided to go back and accept my fate. If I’m not mistaken, my father should be coming tomorrow.”
Leo opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he remained silent.
If it were Sophia in this situation, Leo would undoubtedly be an unstoppable force, defying anyone who tried to harm her. But for Marina, he didn’t have that obligation or qualification.
Marina was right. This time, it was indeed her father who was coming.
Early the next morning, four military armored vehicles raced towards the Nameless Clinic.
As the armored vehicles came to a stop, dozens of fully armed special forces soldiers quickly disembarked, each carrying an assault rifle. They surrounded the Nameless Clinic in an orderly manner, blocking any possible escape routes.
At the same time, several people equipped similarly rushed into the alley behind the Nameless Clinic, sealing off the back door.
In the blink of an eye, the entire Nameless Clinic was completely surrounded, with no way for anyone to escape.
The surrounding shops and pedestrians who witnessed the scene hurriedly closed their doors and fled for their lives.
Soon, a black sedan slowly approached. Josiah was sitting inside the car.
Chasel quickly ran to the clinic and called out to Leo, “Mr. Bloomer, there are many armed special forces outside. They have blocked off the entrance and exit of our clinic. It seems they are here for Miss Meredith.”
Leo paused his treatment upon hearing this and walked out of the clinic. Marina and Sandra from the pharmacy also rushed out.
Seeing dozens of heavily armed special forces soldiers outside, Leo’s expression couldn’t help but change.
He never expected that the Meredith family would cause such a big commotion for Marina, openly deploying special forces.
“I heard you boasted that no one can take my daughter away, is that right?” a resolute middle-aged man stepped out of the black sedan. His voice arrived before he did, full of authority.
After getting out of the car, Josiah straightened his body, exuding an extraordinary demeanor. He coldly said, “Now, do you still dare to say that?”
“I dare, of course!” Leo stepped forward, his face calm. “Not just these few people, even if ten times or a thousand times more, along with airplanes and cannons, I would still say the same!”
“My friend, as long as she wants to stay here, she will stay here. Even if the heavens descend, they won’t be able to take her away!”
Leo’s imposing manner leaked out, his voice not loud but clearly heard by the soldiers and Josiah present.
The soldiers couldn’t help but sneer at his words. They had been on many missions before and had never seen such arrogance. They secretly thought that Leo would probably wet his pants once gunfire broke out.
“What a big mouth!” Josiah sneered, chuckling. “It’s good to have youthful vigor, but arrogance…”
Before Josiah could finish his sentence, he suddenly stopped abruptly, his face showing astonishment. It was because he had clearly seen Leo’s appearance by now.
It was too similar!
The eyebrows, eyes, nose, and lips were exactly the same as the second master of the Bloomer family when he was young!
Compared to others, Josiah was most familiar with the second master of the Bloomer family, especially when they were young. They trained together every day, competing with each other. He had a fresh memory of the second master of the Bloomer family’s appearance during his youth. That was why he was so shocked when he saw Leo.
Leo noticed Josiah’s surprise upon seeing him and couldn’t help but feel puzzled. He also looked Josiah up and down.
“Marina, is he the Dr. Bloomer who cured you? And his parents are deceased, right?” Josiah’s expression softened, and he asked.
His parents are deceased?
“…” Leo was speechless.
“When did his parents pass away? It was when he was young when his parents disappeared,” Marina frowned and explained.
“Sorry, I only remembered that he was an orphan,” Josiah nodded, then turned to Leo and asked, “How old were you when your parents disappeared?”
“I was five years old,” Leo replied.
“When you were five years old…” Josiah nodded, and a faint smile appeared on his face. Then he waved his hand and said in a deep voice, “You can withdraw!”
The surrounding heavily armed soldiers were momentarily stunned, but obeying orders was a soldier’s duty. The captain leading the team knew Josiah’s identity and received the order. Without a second word, he made a gesture and shouted, “Withdraw!”
Soon, the group of people orderly retreated to the armored vehicles and quickly left the scene.
“Why don’t you invite me in for a chat?” Josiah smiled at Leo, his attitude completely different from the tense atmosphere when he first arrived.
“Please.” Leo was also somewhat surprised. He didn’t expect the atmosphere to suddenly ease, so he gestured for Josiah to enter.
