Amellie Cruz
We have visited the famous tourist spots in Kyoto. Most of them are temples but they all have uniqueness. Everyone is taking pictures. But the two of us end up in this shop.
“Do you want to buy something?”-he said. I nodded.
“Yes. Just like what I watch in their drama’s and anime’s. Let’s try these.”-I said. We both pick. He smiled and I get curious.
“What does it said? You’re smiling like you win something.”-I ask. He look at me.
“You will be a father before the year ends. Your future will be great as long as you never hurt your current wife. Whoa, it was super accurate. And also I am super lucky. And you?”
I look at the paper that I got. I blink many times because it feels like this is made for me.
“It is said that I have great luck. I’ll be a mother of five and…lies is sweet and truth is still yours…?”
“Ohh, we are lucky then. We got these good lucks for us. Let’s go back to everyone, they might be looking to us.”-he said and held my hand. I feel like the last sentence is about the situation that I have with him. It came from a lie that is sweet. But what about the ‘truth is still your?’ What is the meaning of that?
We decided to go home early and have dinner with the Satoh’s because it’s our way of appreciating their hospitality. Plus their food is much better.
“Is everyone enjoyed their visit here? In two days time, all of you will go back in your country.”
“Don’t worry grandpa, Sora and I will visit Kyoto form time to time.”-Asami. He smiled.
“Everyone will always be welcome here. Visit us every time.”-Sora’s father.
“I hope everyone here will always welcome us every time that we come here for vacation.”-Ethan.
“Of course, our door is open to all of you.”
“Thank you then.”-I said.
“Mom and dad, Peter and I will visit here also. Who knows, by the next time we visit Asami and I are both pregnant.”-Luna. They smiled.
“We will be happy if that happens. You guys should work hard for that then.”-Luna’s father.
“We will, father.”-Peter. We continued to eat and they just let me eat until I wanted. I feel like my craving are killing me. But maybe because I have three babies in my womb. Or maybe I’m just hungry.
“How many moths are you, Amellie-chan?”-Sora’s mother. I look at her.
“Three months, auntie.”
“Oh, that’s good to hear. We understand that feeling. Because I have been in that situation too.”
“Actually mom, they’re having triplets.”
“Oh, really? Wow, you two will surely be on the busiest because having one is already tiring and satisfying at the same time.”-grandfather Satoh.
“It’s okay, babies are blessings.”-Luna’s mother.
“Enjoy your food, we are enjoying watching you also.”
“Thank you.”-I said with a bunny cheeks and continued to devoured all the food in my plate.
Last day had come and we are all into shopping for souvenirs and presents for our family and friends. I grab his arms and drag him on that shop.
“I think mom and dad will like these figurines. They can put them in their room or in their office.”
“Let’s buy some for us also.”-Ethan. I nodded to agree.
“How much is this?”-I ask.
“These are 400 yen each.”
“We will take 10 of these please. And this jade pendants as well.”-I said.
“Thank you, ma’am.”-she said and she is happy because she can have a good sales.
“Mom has been collecting bags and shoes from designer companies, I hope she will like this simple things.”-I said. He smiled.
“Have you forgotten that mom is someone who appreciates gift no matter how cheap it is? Especially when she receives one from the children in orphanage that she visits often.”-he said. I smiled.
“Ah, yes. I remember. She even used a single room to display all the gifts she receives. The drawings of kids for her are being displayed in the wall. The letters she receives from the students she funded for scholarships are in the glass cabinets. Mom had always been gentle, even dad. Especially you, you didn’t have a second thought in accepting me as your sister and made me feel like I am not adopted.”
He look at me and pinch my cheeks, I tap his hands.
“It hurshhts”-I said. He let go.
“All of us had never think that you are not a part of the family. When you came, you lighten up the house in a much better ways.”
“Really? Brother?”-I said in teasing tone. He scoffs.
“Brother, hmm?”-he said and grab my waist. He lifted me and kiss me afterwards. Everyone is surprised.
“Not in public.”-I said and cover my mouth. He laugh and pet my hair.
“I’m sorry. I can’t help it. You’re too cute.”-he said.
“Tss. Cute. I’m gorgeous.”-I said. We both laugh.
We continued to roam around and buy simple and some are expensive things that we can give as presents to everyone. I even bought one to my officemates. He agreed that I will stay in that department for one more months before accepting the director position that dad reserve for me.
“Oh my! Action figures! Can we buy some?”
“Of course, I wanted to buy some also.”-he said.
We both pick our favorite characters in one of the old anime’s of all time. When we all meet for lunch, everyone seems to be tired also from shopping around. The men pulled us our seats.
“At last! I am so hungry, strolling around is exhausting.”-Luna. I smiled.
“I do feel the same thing. My babies are surely hungry like us.”-I said. They smiled.
“I hope you will have 2 boys and 1 girl.”-Sora.
“I think 3 boys are fine.”-Asami.
“Three girls are good also.”-Peter.
“I prefer 2 girls and 1 boy.”-Luna. We laugh.
“Anything is fine.”-we both said.
Ethan Andrews
The Satoh family insists to send us off in the Tokyo International Airport. We look at them.
“We will be back as soon as we can, mom and dad.”
“Of course we knew that. Take care of your wife and balance your work and your family’s time.”-Sora’ mother. He nodded and smile on her.
“Give us grandchildren soon. Even you Peter and Luna.”-Sora’s father.
“I will surely make a banquet for my great grandchildren when they visit here.”-their grandfather.
“Don’t worry guys, we will work on that.”-Luna.
“Father and mother, don’t worry about Luna. I’ll take care of her and love her more than myself.”-Peter.
“I am happy to hear that.”-Luna’ mother.
“Tell us if Luna is giving you a hard day, even you Luna. You two should make a good home.”-Luna’s father.
“Yes dad. We will.”-Luna.
“Thank you everyone for giving us a warm welcome and a home while we’re here in Japan.”-Amellie.
“We have left something for everyone in your house. That’s our way for appreciation. Thank you, Satoh family.”-I said. They smiled.
“You shouldn’t have too.”
“Flight 7710, passengers be on boarding.”
“That’s our flight.”-Peter.
“We have to go.”-Sora.
“Bye everyone.”-we said. We bow on each other and take our leave and we will go back in our country after a couple hour flight.
“Have some rest, this will take a long time.”
“Okay.”-she said. She put her head on my shoulder and close her eyes. We are on the VIP class and everyone is silent after the plane had taking off. In the end, I slept as well. Our drivers came to pick us up.
“Let’s se each other from time to time.”-I said.
“Okay then. See you guys.”-Peter opens their car’s door. They entered and leave first.
“Here’s our car too. See you.”-Asami said. Sora opens the car door for her and look on us.
“Have a safe trip back home.”
“You guys as well.”-she said. After they leave, I open the car door for her and she enters first.
“Let’ go, Mr. Vanz.”-I said to our drive.
“Okay sir.”-he said and drive us home. When we get home mom and dad are waiting for us.
“Welcome home, you two.”-mom.
“How’s your trip in Japan?”-dad.
“Fantastic. The Satoh family are caring and hospitable. I like how warm they welcome us.”-she said.
“We enjoyed, mom and dad.”-I said.
“Why don’t we eat first and you two should take a rest because your flight is hours away from each countries.”-mom. I nodded.
“Let’ go in the kitchen then.”-dad. While eating, we happen to talk about the things we have done in Kyoto and the experiences we have there. When we open our door, she lay down to bed. I knew she’s tired.
“Good night, love.”
“Good night.”-she mumbled. I end up smiling because she is indeed tired and sleepy. I can’t find myself going to bed yet and I decided to go on the bar area of the house. Dad saw me and drink with me.
“Still on jetlag?”
“Kind of.”-I said and sip this scotch.
“By the way, we already have enough evidences. We will do the next move.”-he said.
“Are we going to file a lawsuit?”
“Yes. We need to use the right way to fight, son. We shouldn’t do the same as them.”-he said.
“Okay dad. Let me do that. I will be working on Monday anyway. I will take care of everything.”
“Are you sure about that?”-he ask. I nodded.
“You two, are you drinking at this hour? Ethan, you should be on bed by now.”-mom.
“Honey, we only drink a little. Don’t think too much.”
“Make sure of that. I will be waiting on you our room. Good night, son.”-she said. I kiss her cheeks back.
“Good night, mom.”
After she left, dad speaks again.
“Son, I just wanted to ask this question. Are you sure you didn’t feel anything about your body?”
“What did you mean by that, dad?”
“I mean because of the car accident more than a year ago.”-he said. I put some wine again.
“I don’t feel anything. There are times that my head is aching but that’s it. It fades away after a couple of minute.”-I said. He sigh.
“Just tell us when you feel something or remembers something.”-he said. I nodded.
“I’ll make sure of that, dad.”-I said. He sighs.
After drinking two glasses, we went upstairs and go to bed. I knew what dad means to say. But this is not the time yet. I lay down beside her and embraces her.
“I love you.”-I mumbled and kiss her forehead. I closed my eyes and tried to get my sleep. Monday had come and I called Mr. Miller.
“I want you to call our lawyers and we will start to give them evidences. We will file a lawsuit against D. L Capital this week.”-I said.
“Understood, Sir Ethan.”
“Also, before I forgot. Did you send the evaluation email to El Parfum?”-I ask.
“Yes, Sir Ethan. They already read the email.”
“Good. That’s what I wanted to hear.”-I said.
“I’ll take my leave then.”-I said. I nodded and he leave. I knew Tyra will be surprised after she receives the letter about her lawsuit.
“You have given the chance and yet you still choose this path. You never learn your lesson.”-I mumbled. I shrug my shoulder and starts to work.
