“This is a two billion dollar contract, plus three years of deep cooperation in the future. I have already signed and stamped it. As long as you agree to bring Leo, the collaboration will be achieved.”
Looking at the contract on the table, Renee’s lips curved slightly, “Miss Melendrez, to be honest, I am very tempted by your two billion dollar contract, but I will not persuade Leo for it. Please take back your good intentions.”
Aryanna couldn’t help but speak up loudly, “Ms. Browne, do you know what you’re doing?”
Clare waved her hand to stop Aryanna and then placed both hands on the table with sharp eyes fixed on Renee, “Are you really not going to bring Leo?”
“I already brought him to your house last time. It was your own fault for not cherishing him. Now please leave!” Renee’s tone turned cold.
“What if I don’t leave?” Clare challenged Renee with a look in her eyes.
Renee stood up and met Clare’s gaze without showing any weakness, “Then I will have someone throw you out!”
“Is that so?” Clare clapped her hands and signaled for her bodyguards outside to come in.
But as fighting sounds erupted outside, Clare saw her own guards lying scattered outside the door.
“Miss Melendrez, do you want to walk out yourself now or should I have someone throw you out?” Renee looked at Clare with a mocking expression.
Clare gritted her teeth as she didn’t want any trouble anymore, “Renee, fine! We’ll leave!”
The Browne in the Traditional Medicine University.
After class, Willow asked Leo to have a meal at the cafeteria’s small restaurant.
After finishing their meal, Willow hesitated for a moment, raised her head, looked at Leo, gathered her courage, and asked, “Mr. Bloomer, I want to ask, when you treat patients… do you only treat them if they pay?”
“It depends. There are some people I treat even if they don’t pay, and there are some people I won’t treat no matter how much money they offer. Why do you suddenly ask about this?” Leo replied.
“It’s… not me, it’s someone from the Calder family.” Willow pushed her glasses up her nose, finding it difficult to speak.
She felt that if she, as a friend, were to ask Leo not to treat her grandfather, it would be a way of blocking Leo’s financial path.
If Willow knew Leo’s current worth, she probably wouldn’t have such thoughts.
“Ms. Calder, you can tell me anything directly, without worrying about anything,” Leo said, seeing the expression on Willow’s face and knowing she must be facing a difficult situation.
Seeing Leo’s sincere expression, Willow felt a sense of security enveloping her heart and recounted the whole story.
During her explanation, Willow didn’t say anything about not allowing Leo to treat her grandfather; she just stated the facts.
After listening to Willow’s account, Leo pondered for a moment and said, “I’m sorry, Ms. Calder, even though they can be considered your family, I don’t want to treat such people.”
Hearing this, something stirred in Willow’s heart, and she felt a warm sensation.
Clearly, Leo was afraid that he owed her a favor, which was why he deliberately said that.
Thinking of her sorrowful past again, Willow’s eyes couldn’t help but redden, and she smiled bitterly, saying, “Actually, I’ve always had a childish thought in my heart. If the Calder family had come to apologize to my mom back then, maybe her suppressed anger would have dissipated a bit, and maybe she wouldn’t have fallen ill so quickly, maybe she could have lived a few more days…”
“Just an apology is not enough. I think your dad and grandpa should at least kowtow three times in front of your mom’s memorial tablet to apologize and comfort her soul in heaven,” Leo shook his head gently and said.
Willow trembled and bitterly said, “I’ve had that thought too, wanting that heartless man and that vixen to kowtow and apologize to my mom, but… it’s impossible…”
“That’s not necessarily true. Maybe one day they’ll suddenly repent, realize the enormity of their sins, and voluntarily kowtow to apologize to your mom,” Leo said with a smiling face, suddenly having an idea in his mind.
If the Calder family agreed to his request, he might consider treating them.
“No, that kind of person has no humanity,” Willow gently shook her head and smiled bitterly.
A person who doesn’t even care about their own biological daughter’s life or death, how could they suddenly repent?
At that moment, Willow’s phone suddenly rang. She answered it and spoke a few words, then covered the phone with her hand and asked Leo, “Mr. Bloomer, do you remember the last time I mentioned introducing you to a young intern? She’s calling me now. What do you think, are you still interested?”
“Oh, I almost forgot if you didn’t mention it,” Leo slapped his forehead, suddenly remembering. “Shiloh? She’s graduating this year, right? I saw the information you sent me, it’s quite good. Sure, let her come over.”
Afterward, Willow sent the address of the clinic to Shiloh and then left the school with Leo, planning to go together and take a look.
Leo and Willow had just arrived at the clinic when a young and beautiful girl with a backpack arrived.
Upon seeing Leo and Willow, she quickly greeted them, “Hello, Mr. Bloomer. Hello, Ms. Calder.”
“Shiloh, right? Have you treated patients before?” Leo sized up Shiloh and noticed that the young girl was quite pretty, with her big blinking eyes and an energetic presence that could lighten up the somber atmosphere in his clinic.
“I’ve treated a few, but it was just random check-ups,” Shiloh replied, a little bashfully.
“Mr. Bloomer, don’t listen to her modesty. This girl is amazing. She’s the outstanding graduate of our class,” Willow enthusiastically recommended to Leo.
“Is that so? Then today, you can start seeing patients,” Leo said with a smile.
“Me?” Shiloh was surprised and quickly waved her hands. “I can’t, I can’t.”
In truth, she hadn’t treated many patients before, and those she did treat were mostly relatives and friends. She hadn’t had much real practice. Now, Leo was asking her to treat others at the clinic, so she couldn’t help but feel a little nervous.
“Let me ask you, have you memorized all the knowledge from your textbooks?” Leo asked.
“I have actually memorized all of it. If you don’t believe me, you can test me,” Shiloh confidently said.
“Alright then, you can start seeing patients directly,” Leo said, pointing to a chair behind the examination table, indicating for her to sit there.
Shiloh felt a bit nervous, hesitated for a moment, and then decided not to refuse any further. She walked over directly.
After a short while, several patients arrived. Leo gestured to them with a welcoming gesture and said with a smile, “Today, Dr. Eliot will be in charge of the consultation.”
Shiloh’s face blushed slightly, and the patients were a bit incredulous, but seeing Leo nodding affirmatively, they walked over and let Shiloh take their pulses.
“Madam, you have a cold caused by catching a chill. I’ll prescribe a drink with gypsum for you. Drink it for two doses, and you’ll recover,” Shiloh calmly finished examining the older woman in front of her and proceeded to write the prescription.
