In the long corridor, I recognized the room, he said I can use earlier and pushed it. But it was locked from inside. Seeing me struggle, Mr Gold come to my rescue and pushed the door. But it didn’t budge so he calmly knocked on the door.
Knock knock..
There was no response from the other side.
Knock knock, still no response.
Mr. Gold got a bit angry and constantly banged on the door. In a bit Liam opened the door. He smiled uncomfortablely as he saw us at the door. He seemed half asleep “What happened? Why are you making noise? Is it morning already? ” he lazily looked around.
“No, no it’s still midnight. Go to bed” I shook my head. I wasn’t that heartless to ask someone to leave the room so that I can sleep there. Right?
“Why did you wake me up then? ”
Mr Gold looked at me as if saying, I don’t think that was the plan before or you can answer yourself. I smiled at the sudden change in my attitude. I looked at Liam “We wake you up to say goodnight to you” I said.
“Oh, is that so? Good night Mr. Gold, good night Ms. Wilson ” he bowed to us and closed the door.
“To say good night? Seriously? ” he asked as soon as the door got locked. “Don’t you find any better excuse than that? ” he asked me.
“You could have tell her, if you had one” I shook my shoulders at him.
He got silent and looked around. “Now, where do you want to go? ” he asked.
“Go? ”
“Sleep? ”
“Ahh that one at the last” I choosed a random room. We both walked to it al. I pushed the door opened and the room was silver along with gold color painted all over the room. It was preety cool. I walked here and there while exploring the room.
“Come on Dora. It’s time to sleep. Continue your exploring tommorow ” he said.
I looked at him and felt a warmness in my heart. He was nobody to me just a days ago, we were living in two different worlds but today he was as if became my family, my friend even though he was only my boss.
I looked at the bed and went to sleep on it. When I climbed on the bed I looked around to find there was no soda here for Mr. Gold to sleep. I mean there was sofa but they were not long ones.
I looked at Mr. Gold and asked “There is no sofa here? Where are you going to sleep? ” I asked him.
“There with you ” he pointed at the bed .
“No”
“What no? ”
“You can’t sleep here. I wil be sleeping on the bed”
“So what? We can sleep together. This bed is so big and we have slept together before anyway. Remember you got drunk… ”
“Shhh.. Don’t talk about that” I said as I lowered my head with blushing cheeks. Why does he have to bring up that topic? It’s so embarrassing.
“So, I can’t sleep there. Right? ” he asked me seriously. I shook my head indicating hr wasn’t going to sleep here.
“OK, you sleep here. I’ll be in next room ” hr said all of sudden. My fear triggered me . I don’t want to be left alone here. I was scared so I clutched the quilt hard. “No you can’t ” I said to him.
“This is my house. I bet I can” he said to me with his eyebrows up.
I was afraid to sleep alone. So I came up with a idea indeed ” Why don’t you sleep here on the bed. You can get me bed sheets, I’ll sleep there on the floor ” I said hoping that somehow he’ll agree to this.
He thought for a while and nodded “I guess that’ll do”
He took out his phone and typed something on the phone. After a while there was a knock on the bed. Two strong looking man came in and took out the sofa from there. They were wearing similar clothes.
I thought he was going to ask me to sleep there on the floor and that was why he was removing the table and the small sofas. But instead those two man came back in a while with a big and long sofa. It was so big that one can sleep here very comfortly.
Mr. Gold locked the door as they went out and took out blankets from the wardrobe along with a pillow and went to the sofa. I was looking him without blinking as he set up the bed there.
I was thinking he was going to call me anytime there but he got on it and sleep there soundly. In a while his breathing was smooth as if he was asleep. I went up to him and checked him if he was pretending but he didn’t wake up when I waved my hand in front of him. So I came back to the bed and sleep.
The very next morning, I got up and thankfully sun was already shining brightly. I got of the bed and went to the washroom. I did a quick morning routine and came out of the bed afraid that Mr. Gold might leave before I came.
When i came out he was still there and I sighed in relief.
He got up very late, he might have a good sleep. When he got up and used the washroom, Frank came in to call for breakfast. I nooded at him.
When we reach the dining table downwards, Frank told me Liam had already left. When he told so, I was afraid that Mr. Gold will also go to work and I’ll be alone here.
I felt uncomfortable at that thought. I looked at Mr. Gold and he was having his breakfast calmly.
“What? Don’t you like it? ” he asked me.
“You don’t like it? What do you want to have? I’m sorry, I don’t know what you like or what you don’t. Please tell me what you want to have. I’ll make it immediately. ” frank said to me the whole thing even before I could refuse.
“No, no… That’s not like it. Food is very tasty. ” I said finally after they both were done talking…
“Then what’s the matter? ” Mr. Gold asked me gently.
I shook my head. How could I ask him to not go? Liam said today was a important meeting. And he was definitely going to took me as a dramatic person if I say, I’m scared in such a daytime.
“I’m done” he said as he put his spoon dowm. I know he was going to go to office now. I was scared so I lowered my head and don’t looked at him.
He went upstairs and I was still into the food while uncle Frank was right behind me, waiting for me to finish my food.
When I was done, uncle Frank took away my plates.. I went to the hall and sat on the couch. The hall was huge and empty. If he was going to go to the office, he have to go through the hall, that was the reason that she was waiting for him.
I waited and waited but he didn’t came out for so long. I looked up the stairs and got off the sofa. I slowly went upstairs, and checked the rooms one by one
. i first went to his thinking he might be in washroom or getting dressed but there was no sign of him there.
Then I went to the room we sleep yesterday, he wasn’t there either. I only saw empty room over there. After that I came to check each guest room. I found him nowhere.
I was about to go down when I realised i haven’t checked the study. He can be there too. Right? I ran towards the library and to my most unexpected surprise, he was there. He was in his study on video conference.
He looked up and saw Mr staring at him.. He called me inside with his hand. I went in and sat in front of him. He turned off the laptop and said to me “I have lots if meeting to attend today. Be a good girl and sat quietly. Yes you can read books if you want to” he said.
“I thought you are going to office ” I mumbled.
“Do you want me to? ” he asked and I shook my head.
He laughed “Go to the sofa ” he said as he opened his laptop again.
I went to the sofa and sat there reading. We had our lunch at that study. I get so warm and safe and happy that he thought about me and even stayed home so that to accompany me.
