Then she got on the driver’s seat. She opened the front door for me and I also hipped inside the car. She looked at me with squinting eyes demanding to know what was going on and why was I in a hurry.
I gave her a creepy smile and told her how I met Tyson, Jack and Bray. She shook her head looking at me “You are so hopeless girl. I wonder how are you going to find a good guy for you if you keep running from boys”
“I don’t need anyone” I rolled my eyes at her “Besides I wasn’t running. I was just in a hurry to go home.”
“Well well we’ll, your petty excuses” she said as closed her eyes with her arms folded in her chest.
“I’m telling the truth” I shouted as she pulled the car outside the parking lot and drove towards the main road. I looked outside the window just to see those three idiots still waving at me. I quickly got my head inside my car.
Soon we arrived at the building where I leave. I asked Anyee to come with me and have a cup of tea before going home.
“Some other day love. I’m getting late already. Dad will kill me if I stay even more. “She shouted as her car drove past me.
“See you Anyee…..!”
“See you too, baby girl ” she shouted from the car.
I looked at her way until she faded away in the distance. As she went away my smile on the face also ran away. I looked at the big building in front of me and I felt empty even though there are hundreds of people living in there. I shook away my emptiness and walked inside the building with heavy steps.
After I reached my room, it was even more empty. I changed my clothes and sat on the bed. I was at home but it felt as if I was somewhere else…
I opened my text section on the phone and was about to write to Cami. But I remember it was still her working hours. It was useless to message her at this time. I throw the phone aside and went to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and then again, Mr Gold was out for dinner. I don’t want to make food for me alone..
I took out a packet if chips and went back to room. I opened Netflix on my phone and begin to watch new marvel movies. I opened the packet of chips and begin to eat while watching. The whole series got end in dew hours since only a few episodes were released by now.
I throw the phone aside and close my eyes. It was still not the time to sleep instead i was feeling hungry. That chips don’t seem enough for my hunger. But I was too lazy to go and cook food. So I picked up the phone once again and then searched for some good movies.
It was then, there was a knock on the door. Who could it be? I looked at the time and it was already nine thirty at night. Cami wasn’t coming today was she? I looked at my text section to see if there was any message from Cami. But it was still empty. She would have called me if it was her.
I woke up from the bed and now the door was knocking constantly. Arhh.. I ran to the door and opened it. I looked up to see Mr Gold with his brows frowning.
“What took you so long to open the door? ” he asked in harsh tone.
“I… ” I looked at his furious eyes and gulped a mouthful of saliva. “I was sleeping”
He didn’t seem satisfied with the answer . He was still looking at me as if he want to skin me alive. Why was he here? Shouldn’t he be somewhere at a fancy restaurant? And why was he angry?
“Have you eaten already?” he asked. I thought for a while. It would be so embarrassing to say I haven’t eaten because I was lazy to make something.
“Yes.. Yes I did.” I said quickly.
“Oh you did. What do you cook today? Is there some left for me? ” he asked as he walkes towards the kitchen. Shit, if he was to reach there he would know I haven’t made anything and I tried to fed him lie just now.
I ran towards the kitchen in the speed of flash and quickly blocked his way at the door. I stood there and opened my arms wide.
“What are you doing? ” he asked looking at me up and down. .
“You… You can’t go inside”
“Why?” he asked.
“Because… Because. .. Because…” Arhh stupid Riley think of something soon. “Because I’m going to block your way.”
What? What kind of reasom was thag idiot? Can’t you say something more logical? What will he think of me now.
I looked at him and made my hands strong with determination to not to let him trespass me. He slowly bent his head down and faced me eye to eye.
“Do you think a kid like you can block my way? ” he asked in a hoarse voice. My eyes was connected to his. And my heart was throbbing so fast inside my chest. I could barely focus on what he had just said.
Even though I can’t let him go inside and humiliate me. I closed my eyes and made my both hands into fist as I screamed “You can’t go inside. I won’t let you go?”
“You think you have the strength to overpower me? ” he smirked at me and went inside pushing mee aside. It wasn’t even a push, he barely applied any force. Arhh…
I was ready to get embarrassed. He was about find out that I haven’t cooked anything today. I slowly turned around. I looked at him confused. He wasn’t checking the pots. Instead he took out a plate and then took out some boxes from the polythene aside.
Wait who bought that polythene here? It wasn’t here before so the only thing possible was he get the polythene here. But I didn’t notice that at all. I guess I was to busy to cover up my lies and trying to shoo him from here.
However the food on the table looks very yummy. My hunger increase even more after seeing the food. My stomach also begin to grumble as I saw that. My mouth was also filled with water.
Mr. Gold took the plate in his hands and looked at me. I quickly looked away and pretended not to see him or the food. Bit my stomach growled again and this time it was a bit loud. I bet Mr. Gold must have heard this.
I looked down in embarrassment. Mr Gold went to the dining table and sit on the chair with the food in front of him..
“Come here” he asked me.
I looked at him dumbfounded. I pointed my nose to confirm. He nodded at me with a smile. And I went to him. My legs were moving on its own. I felt like I was a puppy who is lost in a new world.
He asked me to sit next to him and I did as he asksed. I sat in a chair just beside him. He seemed satisfied because he was smiling now.
“I know you haven’t eaten anything. Do I bought you some food from the resturant.” he said akin a gentle voice as he stroke my hair.
I was touched by his words. I felt warmth in my heart. I looked at him and I felt he was never more handsome than this before. He.. He thought about me… And bought me food. My eyes started twelling Uo at the thought.
“Eat fast when it is hot. Or else it won’t taste good’ he said as he pushed the plate towards me.
I nodded and lowered my head down and started digging in. The food was so delicious. It was hot and yummy. I couldn’t stop myself and soon I was filing my mouth spoon by spoon.
“Slow down or you’ll choke” He said as he chuckled softly.
I nodded and started to eat a bit slower than before. It don’t take me long before I finished my food.
I looked up to him to say thank you but before I could speak he spoke “No need for that. Make the breakfast ready tommorrow.” he said as he walked towards the door. Before he step outside he looked back and said “Sleep for now and don’t be afraid I’m just next door. ”
