I closed the door behind me and went back to the kitchen. When I was putting the tray on it’s place there was a janitor was cleaning the mess on the floor. Then I went back to the office and this time I knocked on the door properly before I get in the office.
I went in and then sat back at the documents. And all of them were already finished. All I had seen to have some problem was that red file containing the info about the deal with white corporation.
I took the stack of file and went to Mr Gold and put those files in front of Mr Gold. He once looked up off the paper and then looked back on his papers.
I then went to Liam “Is there any more works for me to do? ” I asked him.
“Well I do have. There you are but just keep it here for now. You can do it tomorrow because we are going to the construction side for now.” he said.
“Construction side? ” I asked him once more to know more.
“Ohh yeah, Golden is going to make a lake house at the western lake of the city. You might read there about western lake project on one of the files. right ?” he said.
“Ohh I read that on these files. That one on blue” I said as I remember the western lake project. Then I remember that it wasn’t that good.
“Oh I wanted to ask somthing about that” I begin.
“Of course you can ask Riley. But not at this time. I really had a hard time to finish this. Just let me finish this and we need to go there ” Liam shoved me away of his desk. I came to the sofa and started drinking the coffee I made. I drank the coffee until it finished. I looked in front of me and I felt a bit bad looking at them both working on the desks while I need to work on the sofa and the tea table. But then I was doing this for unknown amount of time. It won’t be convenient to ask them for desk when I wasn’t working for long. Isn’t it?
After a while, Liam came up to Mr Gold with a bunch of papers on his hand and put it down in front of him. He opened the file one by one and started signing it one by one.
As soon as they finished theu got up off their chairs and walked outside.
“Come fast” Liam whispered as he walked past me. I took the bag in my hand and walked out tailing behind them.
When I reached the elevator, they both got inside the elevator for Mr Gold while I pressed the button for another elevator. I looked at the button and it shows up and down. It went up for a long while, I know it was going to open in a while.
“Ask her to come in” I heard Mr Gold saying to Liam.
“Riley, came here. It won’t take much time and we don’t have time to waste at all. ” Liam said.
“I can’t Liam.. It was an order by Mr…”
“Come inside” Mr Gold cut me off and said this.
I looked at hi he was the one who said I can’t use the elevator as long as he say so. I shook my head, it was him calling me after all. I went inside the elevator and stay at the back of Mr Gold. He was tall and handsome Eben from the back side. He had one if his hand on his pocket when his other hand was hung carelessly around his thigh.
“Don’t stare at me like that, I don’t want to have a hole in between my body” he said.
I almost freaked out as he said those words because I never thought he had eyes at his back too. I quickly lowered my head and prayed that this akward time to finish as soon as possible. It was such a hard thing to even breathe here.
As soon as we reach the ground floor, everyone started bowing to Mr Gold. I and Liam was following right behind him. This was the first time I was out here with him. No one in the company had seen us together before so all the eyes were at me. I can feel people’s stare at me as I walked out of the company. When we reached the compound, the driver had already took the car out of the parking lot.
Liam sat in the front seat with the driver so I only had a chance to seat with Mr Gold at the back seat. I had no other choice so I also sat back with him.
While we drove off the car. I don’t even know where we were heading. All I knew was WWE were going to some construction side and that was all I know.
At the middle of the way, Liam turned on the radio and there was a sweet song being played at that channel. It was a song named “My heart will go on”. I kind of like the song and the atmosphere was also wonderful. The drive, the song, the air and Mr Gold….
What? My heart skipped a beat as I realised what had I just… I mean what was this? I shook my head and tried to tell myself I just heard wrong but I hadn’t heard anything I was just thinking.
I felt the awkwardness grow even more as the thought I just had and it kind if felt strange and good at the same time, it was strangely good.
I shook my head trying to get those thoughts out of my head but I couldn’t. It was so embarrassing. I tried to stay calm but I was feeling so hot and anxious. I tried to look at Mr Gold only to found him looking at me. I quickly turned my head to another direction. I felt more nervous and I know I must be blushing hard this time. Even though I was trying to act calm, it was hard.
The car came to an halt, I was happy and sad at the same time. I was happy that I can look at other things rather than Mr Gold and I can move my head away from Mr Gold. But at the same time I wasn’t happy, it was quite good to sit on his side with that song and…
Arhhh Riley what the heck are you thinking about?
I shook my head and quickly jumped off the car . Mr Gold and Liam also got off the car and it backed away. Now we are in front of a huge lake. It is so… beautiful and calm and.. And it reminded me of the lake where I and beast played once at that night. I then realized I haven’t met him for a long time. I was so busy in my works that I barely remember him.
But now this lake was flooding my memories back one by one in front of my eye. I looked at the lake and finally felt a bit calm as the cook and fresh breeze hit on my face.
However it was a construction site and there were many peoples and machines here. Many people were busy in different field. They were doing their work.
Two man came to Mr Gold and bowed to him. I quickly recognized them. One of them was James White the one and only son of White family and boyfriend of Sarah. And the other one was the same man who came to the meeting yesterday at the hotel.
They begin to talk about the work and explained everything about what was going on here. I tried to focus on everything they said but all the thing that I was able to focus on was Mr Gold’s cold and straight face. His expression as he looked around and his posture as he walked. Riley tried to look away and think otherwise but she couldn’t.
What if he is handsome he is not worth… I mean he don’t have other qualities than handsome and richness and that is not a reason to fall for someone. I thought in my head and this time I was so satisfied with the reason and I felt everything normal now.
Everything was literally her and there due to the work, not that I expected was I would step on one if the rod while trying to fight my mind to not to think about Mr Gold and then I stumbled trying to balance myself and another thing I know was I failed on it and I was flying in the sky very next second directly diving back to the earth.
