Chapter 902 Engine Failure

“What do I mean?” The gang leader glared at him fiercely.
With that glare, the long scar from his eye to his chin became even more frightening. Even the fearless Four-Legged Snake was afraid of such a fierce expression.
“Do you know who I am? You want to eat alone, huh? Wait until my brothers are done and then we’ll give you some!” The gang leader kicked him in the butt and got on the car.
Four-Legged Snake was now truly at a loss. He had worked hard to catch this woman for himself, but he ended up being last!
There were only twenty minutes left. With four people ahead of him, no wait, if he included the youngest one, there were five people. Twenty divided by five meant each person had an average of four minutes. Damn it! Would it be his turn?!
The gang leader’s face was much more scared than Four-Legged Snake’s as he slowly approached Coral with a menacing look on his face. She trembled in fear and stuttered, “Don’t come near me… how much money do you want? I’ll give it all to you.”
“Beautiful lady,” said the gang leader with an evil grin as he reached out towards Coral. “I don’t need money right now; what I want is you. Don’t worry though; I will treat you gently.”
Finally, they managed to hold onto this beautiful martyr. However, just as they were about to do something, the car door was pounded on, and then they heard the voice of the youngest thug, “Boss, something’s not right. The Jeep has appeared!”
“Damn it, they just don’t give up.” The leader of the thugs let go of the woman in his arms, opened the car door, and shouted, “Get your weapons!”
They saw the Jeep that had been following them slowly approaching the van. When it was about ten meters away, the sound of “tututu” rang out.
Five tongues of fire continuously spewed out, targeting the approaching Jeep.
The windshield shattered, the hood cracked open, the tires burst, and finally, with a loud “clang,” the stubborn Jeep completely stalled and became immobile.
At this moment, the two vehicles were only five meters apart.
The surroundings fell silent once again, the night growing darker. It was difficult to see if there were still people inside the car and if they were alive or dead.
The leader of the thugs threw the gun in his hand to Four-Legged Snake and said, “Go check it out. If they’re still alive, finish them off.”
Four-Legged Snake took the gun, hesitated for a moment, feeling that something was wrong with this situation. But in the end, he gritted his teeth and walked forward.
The other thugs watched silently as Four-Legged Snake’s figure slowly disappeared beside the car. The youngest thug couldn’t help but ask loudly, “Snake, what’s the situation…”
Before he could finish his sentence, they heard a scream, followed by a shadow rushing towards the thugs.
Almost instinctively, the thugs raised their guns and started shooting.
A series of flashes burst forth, and the leader of the thugs quickly called for a halt, took off his flashlight, and shone it over. In front of him lay a bloody mess, and who else could it be but Four-Legged Snake!
The leader of the thugs became nervous. Could it be that they had encountered a ghost?
He didn’t believe in such things. He pulled the trigger and fired wildly.
After a few shots, the gun seemed to jam.
Just as the leader of the thugs was panicking, a figure appeared in front of him.
“Who the hell are you!?”
No one answered him. With a wave of his right hand, the leader of the thugs, who was usually agile, tried to lower his head to dodge, but his body couldn’t move at all.
They only heard a “thud!” as a solid iron object smashed into his head. Then, with despair and unwillingness, the leader of the thugs slowly collapsed to the ground.
Leo threw the gun in his hand to the ground and walked towards the front of the van.
Opening the car door in the pitch-black night, unable to see the scene inside the car clearly, Leo said softly, “Coral, it’s me.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a soft body pounced on Leo, hugging him tightly while crying tears of joy. “I knew you would come, I just knew it!”
When they were lined up as hostages on the plane, Coral had seen Leo.
Leo carried Coral out of the car and gently patted her back to comfort her, saying, “Don’t be afraid, I’m here.”
Before Coral’s emotions could settle, they heard the sound of a car driving on the mountain road. The headlights of the car were already illuminating the area.
“This car is here to assist the criminals,” Coral whispered, her mind at ease now that Leo was present.
Leo released Coral and made a silent gesture.
The Rat was driving a seven-seater Buick MPV. The outcome was already predetermined, and Rat met the same fate as the other thugs, lying quietly on the ground.
If it weren’t for the large lump on his forehead, one might have thought he was just sleeping.
The Buick car driven by Rat eventually became Leo and Coral’s ride.
Coral sat in the passenger seat, still shaken, staring blankly at Leo.
Although the mountain road was rugged and difficult to traverse, the Buick car performed well and was fully capable.
“Beauty, I know I’m handsome, but you don’t have to stare at me for such a long time,” Leo joked.
Coral withdrew her gaze and curiously asked, “Stop being conceited. By the way, how did you come to attend tonight’s banquet?”
“I cured a wealthy man’s wife, and he invited me to come,” Leo replied simply.
Coral fell silent for a moment, then looked at Leo’s profile again, gathering her courage. In a mosquito-like voice, she said, “Leo, I know you’re divorced now, and you’re single like me. We…”
Before Coral could finish her sentence, there was a sudden jolt, and the car surged forward before losing power.
Leo quickly stepped on the brakes and clutch, trying to restart the engine, but no matter what he did, it wouldn’t start.
Although this Buick car was a bit old, it seemed to be in decent condition. It shouldn’t have broken down like this.
Leo felt frustrated, got out of the car, and checked but couldn’t find any issues.
When Leo got back in the car, Coral asked, “What’s wrong with the car?”
“I don’t know, it won’t start,” Leo could only sigh in frustration.
With the engine off, the heating naturally stopped, and the cold air seeping into the car felt piercing.
In this godforsaken place, they hadn’t seen any other vehicles pass by from the beginning to the end. It seemed that the only option was to call for help.
Leo took out his phone, but to his surprise, there was no signal!
Troubles never come alone. The only option now was to wait for another vehicle to pass by and seek help or wait until dawn to come up with another plan.
