As they approached the entrance, Angus rolled down his car window and handed over a card to the security personnel stationed at the gate. Within moments, the card was returned to him with great respect and the barrier in front of them slowly lifted.
Once inside, Angus parked their car in a designated parking spot on the lawn. A staff member then drove them on an electric cart towards where their plane was located.
Two beautiful flight attendants dressed in uniform were waiting outside of the plane’s cabin door. They smiled politely and bowed as Leo and Angus stepped off of their cart.
Angus gestured for Leo to go first but he declined before eventually accepting.
The large passenger plane was divided into two levels, with an escalator leading to the upper level as Leo had guessed. The interior of the plane had been modified, and the upper level had been transformed into a stylish restaurant.
The restaurant had an elegant style, with soft, elegant music playing in the background. The upper-class guests dined quietly, accompanied by beautiful flight attendants who were attentive to their every need.
A flight attendant with a stunning figure approached Leo and Angus. She politely smiled and asked, “Do you gentlemen have a reservation?”
“Number 36,” Angus replied.
The flight attendant stepped aside, gestured with a bow, and said, “Please follow me, gentlemen.”
They arrived at table number 36, where the flight attendant smiled and said, “Enjoy your meal, gentlemen.”
There were already two people at table 36, Eric and Angus’s son, Oakley. They both stood up, shook hands with Leo, and after everyone had taken their seats, Oakley called over a waiter to serve the food.
As the dishes were placed on the table, Oakley poured wine for the three of them. Leo raised his glass first and toasted, “Mr. Booth, Oakley, and Mr. Lynd, you are too kind. Thank you for your hospitality. I’ll drink to you.”
They clinked their glasses together, and as they drank, Angus expressed his gratitude, saying, “Dr. Bloomer, actions speak louder than words. My wife will soon be able to leave the hospital thanks to you. I won’t say much more in thanks, but if there’s ever anything I can do for you in the future, don’t hesitate to ask! Come on, Dr. Bloomer, let’s finish this glass!”
“Mr. Booth, you’re too kind,” Leo raised his glass and clinked it with Angus.
At that moment, Eric’s phone rang from his pocket. He glanced at the caller ID and apologetically excused himself to answer the call.
When he returned, his expression showed even more remorse.
“I’m sorry, Dr. Bloomer, something urgent came up at home, and I need to go handle it right away.”
Leo stood up and said, “Mr. Lynd, if you have something to attend to, please go ahead.”
As Eric left, he didn’t forget to say, “Angus, Oakley, make sure you treat Dr. Bloomer well, have a good meal and enjoy yourselves.”
“No need to worry about that,” Angus waved his hand with a hint of intoxication.
After dinner, Angus led Leo and Oakley to the lower level of the plane.
The upper level was the restaurant, and the lower level was for social gatherings.
The lower level had also undergone remodeling and was spacious and luxurious, just like the upper level. Many people recognized Angus and greeted him, but Leo was mostly ignored. Even with Angus introducing him, the businessmen’s attitudes towards him remained indifferent.
Leo didn’t mind. That’s just how society worked.
Oakley, on the other hand, knew many people and quickly engaged in lively conversations with several young business elites.
Just as Leo was about to find a place to sit, his gaze fell upon someone-Coral was also here.
However, Coral didn’t notice Leo. Just as Leo was about to greet her, his heart suddenly skipped a beat, and a sense of foreboding washed over him.
In his ears, he heard a loud bang, and then he saw a section of the plane’s cabin wall being forcefully blasted open. Six figures rushed in, dressed in black attire with white peculiar masks on their faces, and holding submachine guns.
One of them fired several shots into the air and shouted, “Nobody move! Stand aside!”
The screams that filled the cabin quieted down after the sound of gunshots. Five masked gunmen with guns threatened the people in the cabin, lining them up against the walls one by one.
There were probably over a hundred people in the lower cabin. These wealthy individuals had never encountered such a situation before. They were terrified by the masks on the faces of the gunmen and the real weapons in their hands. They obediently followed the instructions and stood against the cabin walls.
Leo quietly took out his phone from his pocket and checked the signal. He couldn’t help but marvel at the professionalism of these gunmen. It seemed that the entire plane’s internal signals had been completely blocked.
Looking at the guns in the hands of the gunmen, Leo hesitated whether or not to take action. If he did, there was a risk of injuring innocent people. He was afraid that these professional gunmen had some backup plan.
Among the six intruders, one took charge, while the other five took out a device and a POS machine from their backpacks. They divided their tasks, scanning the faces of the wealthy individuals lined up with the device. With a beep from the device, the gunmen would hand over the POS machine and menacingly say, “Take out your bank card! Swipe it!”
As long as the wealthy individuals showed hesitation, reluctance, or unwillingness, the gunmen would shoot them in the leg. This kind of serious intimidation made even the wealthy individuals who held a glimmer of hope obediently swipe their cards and enter their PINs.
In such a situation, money and life, everyone would undoubtedly choose the latter.
This was a highly professional gang of robbers who had done their homework before the robbery. The strange device in their hands was probably a facial recognition-like tool that could identify the target’s identity information, allowing the robbers to calmly choose their targets for robbery.
The commercial gathering inside the plane tonight provided the perfect opportunity for the gunmen to rob everyone at once. With the facial recognition tool, they could easily identify the wealthiest among the wealthy.
Watching several men dressed in expensive suits sweating as they swiped their cards and entered their PINs, it could be imagined that the amounts being charged on those cards were at least in the millions or even tens of millions.
“We have three minutes left, hurry up!” the leader of the gang reminded his companions.
One of the gunmen approached Coral.
Coral possessed a beautiful, elegant, and noble temperament. This obvious quality made the gunman hesitate for a moment before using the device to scan her face.
With a light beep, Coral promptly opened her handbag and took out a bank card.
