The next second, the man in red looked straight at Leo with eyes as sharp as a knife, wanting to cut him open and see clearly. Blood spilled from his mouth and he slowly fell backwards, making a “pu” sound before he couldn’t stand up again.
Assisted by Nine Abyss Suppresses Evil Peak and attacked by Purple Radiance, the arrogant man in red was no match for him.
Leo didn’t even glance at the man lying on the ground and turned to leave.
The three black-clothed men and this man in red were all Orientians, most likely sent by Maniwa. Someone would soon come to collect the body of the man in red.
…
General Manager’s Office in Sophia Cosmetics, Ginger Building.
Since her divorce from Leo, Sophia had invested all her energy into work to numb herself. Only when she was busy working could she temporarily forget about Leo.
“Sophia!”
As Sophia was looking through files sent by her secretary, a familiar voice rang out. She didn’t look up because she knew who it was.
Recently Karen had come to her office more than once or twice. If there was anyone who worried about Sophia after her divorce it would be Karen.
It wasn’t until Karen approached that Sophia put down the file in her hand and raised her head with a smile on her face: “Karen.”
“Sophia, you look haggard again. Don’t torture yourself like this,” Karen stared at Sophia as she spoke.
“I’m not torturing myself; I’m just busy with work right now,” replied Sophia nonchalantly.
Karen knew what kind of person Sophia was – if she couldn’t understand something then no amount of persuasion would help.
“Amaya hasn’t hung out with us for some time now; why don’t we have dinner together tonight? We can watch a movie too,” suggested Karen.
Sophia shook her head, “There’s too much going on at work lately; I often have to work overtime. You go ahead with Amaya tonight; I’ll invite you both next time if that’s okay?”
Karen pouted disappointedly, “We’re only fun when we’re together! There’s no point if you don’t come.”
Sophia understood the intention behind Karen’s invitation to dinner and a movie. She felt a bit guilty and said, “Karen, thank you for your kindness. I’m really doing much better now, so you don’t have to worry about me.”
Karen pulled Sophia to sit on the guest sofa, holding Sophia’s hand sincerely and said, “Sophia, no matter what happens, we will always be good friends, and I will always be by your side. I hope you can move on from your sadness and start a new life.”
“Karen, thank you. The situation between Leo and me today can only be described as fate without destined union. I have also come to understand that love is too extravagant for me. Being single is actually quite good.”
“Sophia, what exactly led to the divorce between you and Leo?”
Karen couldn’t understand. How could such a loving couple suddenly decide to divorce?
“Karen, I don’t want to talk about the reasons. Anyway, we are already divorced, and there is no longer any connection between Leo and me.”
Thinking about the photos, Sophia’s mood became heavy once again.
Karen sighed deeply, feeling helpless about the relationship between Leo and Sophia.
At Cloud Dream Mountain, Villa Number Nine.
Nora wiped the cabinet in the living room while frowning at the sofa.
Sitting on the sofa were two people: Jessica and a man of similar age to Leo.
The man was brought into the house by Jessica, and if Leo were here, he would surely recognize this guy whom he had taught a lesson before.
Gilbert, Sophia’s fervent pursuer.
Upon learning about Leo and Sophia’s divorce, he was overjoyed and finally had the courage to come here.
“Gilbert, you haven’t had a girlfriend for such a long time. You truly love Sophia,” Jessica said, her attitude towards Gilbert being completely different from her attitude towards Leo.
Towards Leo, Jessica had extreme disgust and disdain, but towards Gilbert, she treated him as a prospective son-in-law and liked him more and more.
Gilbert smiled and said, “Mrs. Henley, someone like Leo, who is a waste, is simply not worthy of being with Sophia. I knew that even if they stayed together by force, it wouldn’t last. So I’ve been waiting for the day when Sophia would divorce that waste.”
“Ah! Good son-in-law, from now on, we are family,” Jessica happily agreed with a smile on her face.
In Jessica’s view, once Sophia married Gilbert, it will be a strong alliance between the Henley family and the Gray family, and Jessica’s quality of life will undoubtedly improve.
Jessica glanced at her wrist to check the time and said, “Sophia should be back soon. After dinner, you should invite her for a walk within the villa area to deepen your relationship with each other, understand?”
“I understand. I’ll do everything as you say.” Gilbert’s face showed a flattering smile.
“Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, I guarantee that you will successfully marry Sophia.” Jessica leaned closer to Gilbert and lowered her voice, continuing, “Gilbert, although Sophia has been divorced, I can assure you that she and that waste Leo have never consummated their marriage.”
“Ah, is that true?” Gilbert’s eyes lit up, his expression surprised. “Sophia has been married to that waste for four years, and they really haven’t done that?”
“Of course it’s true. I won’t lie to you about this. I suspect that either Sophia wasn’t willing or that waste Leo had some issues. Anyway, my Sophia is still a pure and virtuous lady.”
Just as Jessica finished speaking, the front door was pushed open, and Sophia, looking tired and exhausted, walked in.
Jessica signaled to Gilbert and was the first to approach Sophia, smiling brightly. “Guess who’s here?”
Sophia looked beyond Jessica and said bitterly, “Mom, why did you bring Gilbert into the house?”
“What are you saying? What do you mean I brought him into the house? Gilbert came specifically to visit you,” Jessica corrected.
Sophia sneered, “Mom, I don’t need anyone to visit me. Tell him to leave.”
After saying that, Sophia turned to go upstairs to her bedroom to rest.
Jessica quickly grabbed Sophia’s hand. “Sweetheart, Gilbert came all the way here just to see you. He has been waiting in the house for over two hours. Is it really okay for you not to say a word to him?”
“I’ve already said it. I don’t need anyone to visit me. Get him out of here before my mood worsens,” Sophia’s tone turned cold.
