Furthermore, Leo was not in a good mood and had no interest in admiring beautiful women.
Leo’s reaction left Amaya feeling disappointed and let down.
Did she really have no appeal to Leo? Amaya began to question her own charm that she had always been proud of.
After Leo entered the room, Amaya closed the door gently and led him to sit on the sofa.
“Leo, you don’t seem to be doing well. Haven’t recovered yet?” Amaya poured a glass of red wine for Leo and asked him.
Understanding what Amaya meant, Leo took the wine glass with a bitter smile. “How can I be happy when I’m forced into this situation?”
“Well, you don’t have to feel too bad about it. Relax your mind; things will eventually pass.” After briefly comforting him, Amaya changed the subject. “Do you notice anything different about me today?”
Leo looked up at her and replied nonchalantly, “Nothing different.”
Amaya pouted inwardly: What an oblivious man! She spent over twenty minutes getting ready just for his arrival! How could he not notice? And how did Sophia put up with such an unromantic guy like him?
Summoning her courage, Amaya suddenly reached out her right hand and held onto Leo’s hand while speaking softly, “Take another look…”
Frowning slightly, Leo withdrew his hand from hers before setting down his wine glass. He stood up from the sofa with a serious tone, “Amaya, remember that you are Sophia’s best friend. Respect goes both ways between people.”
Leo’s words made Amaya feel extremely embarrassed at that moment.
He didn’t want any kind of flirtatious relationship with her whatsoever. He continued by saying, “The reason why I came here is because I need your help or rather have a request for you.”
This made Amara angry as she stood up from the sofa as well while coldly snorting back at him, “You’re acting too arrogant when asking mr for help!”
She couldn’t believe how this divorced man could still act so high-and-mighty in front of her!
This was how the proud and self-confident Amaya couldn’t bear it. Seeing Leo looking at her expressionlessly, Amaya gritted her teeth and took a step forward, getting closer to Leo, and directly expressed her feelings, “Leo, I’m a straightforward person when it comes to relationships. I’ll be upfront with you now-I like you! I hope you can marry me and become part of the Mcguire family.”
“Amaya, I’m also telling you clearly that it’s impossible between us.” Leo smiled and replied.
“Why is it impossible?” Amaya was dissatisfied with Leo’s answer. “In terms of status and power, my family can surpass the Henley family by hundred fold!”
“It’s irrelevant to status and power.” Leo shook his head.
“Then what is it? In terms of appearance, what do I lack compared to Sophia?” Amaya asked, feeling unconvinced.
“It’s also irrelevant to appearance.”
“Then why is it?” Amaya demanded.
Leo looked into Amaya’s eyes and said deliberately, “Listen carefully, my heart can only accommodate Sophia.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, you’re already divorced!”
“Even if the world is destroyed, my feelings for Sophia will not change!”
Leo’s words were like a sharp knife piercing Amaya’s heart, causing her expression to become sorrowful and resentful.
“Leo, I have a prestigious family background, I have beauty. Do you really have no feelings for me at all?” Amaya was persistent.
Leo decisively replied, “Yes, not now, and not in the future!”
Amaya suddenly laughed coldly, “Leo, I know why you came to see me today. I can tell you clearly now that if you don’t become part of my family and my man, it’s impossible!”
“In that case, we have nothing more to talk about. Goodbye!” Leo threw those words and turned to leave.
Amaya shouted sharply, “Leo, if you dare to walk out of this room today, you will regret it!”
Leo didn’t look back, opened the door, and left in big strides.
Amaya took two steps back, sitting dejectedly on the sofa, a powerful sense of defeat crawling all over her body.
“Leo, one day I will have you. If I can’t have you, I don’t mind destroying you with my own hands!”
In the underground parking lot of the hotel, Leo opened the door of the rented off-road vehicle and just sat down when his phone rang.
The caller ID showed Eric’s name.
After answering the call, Leo understood the purpose of Eric’s call.
Eric had a good friend named Angus Booth. Something strange happened in Angus’s house, specifically with his wife.
Eric personally witnessed Leo’s extraordinary means of dealing with “strange matters,” so he wanted to ask Leo to help his good friend solve the problem.
Leo didn’t refuse and agreed to meet Eric at the hospital in half an hour.
The hospital was called Harmony Love Hospital, the best private hospital in Langstel.
Outside the inpatient building of the hospital, Leo met Eric.
After a brief greeting, Eric led Leo into the inpatient building.
Entering the elevator and going up to the sixth floor, Leo met Eric’s friend Angus in a special care ward.
Angus, in his fifties, had a square face, two sword-like eyebrows, a short crew cut, a slightly protruding belly, and stood up with a straight posture.
Eric introduced, “Dr. Bloomer, this is my good friend, Angus.”
Leo extended his hand and politely said, “Mr. Booth, hello, I’m Leo.”
Looking at the hand reaching out to him, Angus hesitated for a moment. His gaze first swept over Leo, then glanced at Eric with suspicion, and finally shook hands.
As their hands met, Angus replied politely, “Dr. Bloomer, hello.”
Angus didn’t understand. He had asked Eric to help introduce a geomancy master, but why did Eric bring a doctor instead?
If a doctor could solve the problem, his wife wouldn’t still be lying in the hospital bed.
While retracting his right hand, Leo observed the special care ward. It felt like a small apartment, with a living room after entering the door, equipped with sofas, a TV, a coffee table, and other typical furniture. The actual ward was inside, where Angus’s wife should be.
“Eric, Dr. Bloomer, please have a seat.” Angus gestured to the sofa behind him and said, “Aubri, bring some tea!”
The door to the inner room opened, and a maid responded before serving tea and water to Eric and Leo, who had taken their seats.
“Eric, bringing a young doctor here, I’m afraid it won’t solve the problem,” Angus couldn’t help but say to Eric.
“Angus, although Dr. Bloomer is a medicine practitioner, he is also knowledgeable in geomancy and has saved my life before. Trust me, as long as Dr. Bloomer takes action, your wife will be saved,” Eric affirmed.
