Although not real, it was indeed a human voice.
Leo couldn’t help but shout, “Who are you!?”
The voice didn’t answer his question, but continued to speak, “Cultivator, your arrival here is destined. The gourd is an independent space inside. I have left your world for a long time…”
“Now I am speaking to you with my remnant soul. Your entry has activated my remnant soul which was already predetermined. So don’t ask me any questions because I won’t answer them.”
“Remnant soul?” Leo wondered but didn’t ask further.
“Since you entered here, my remnant soul will slowly disappear. Time is running out so listen carefully and remember what I say. How much you can gain depends on your own talent and fate.”
After the voice finished speaking, Leo suddenly felt dizzy in his head and then his memories began to rewind like scenes playing backwards in his mind. His head started to ache violently as if there were knives cutting through it.
Soon the pain and dizziness disappeared without a trace as the voice spoke again, “Cleanse your memory and discard useless thoughts; learn Mysterious Heaven Body Technique!”
Mysterious Heaven Body Technique!?
At this moment, a faint white figure appeared before Leo’s eyes like smoke that could dissipate at any moment.
The white figure began to move.
He straightened his body first, then crossed his arms. His left hand reversed until it reached under his right armpit, while his right hand extended straight downward, gripping the right knee.
A voice said, “Remember, this is the ‘Celestial Leader.'”
After that, he struck another strange pose. His right foot kicked backward toward the back of his head, and his right hand reached downward, grabbing the left ankle.
“This is the ‘Celestial Martial.'”
Following that, he twisted his body, sequentially transforming into “Heavenly Mechanism,” “Heavenly Leisure,” “Heavenly Valor,” “Heavenly Hero,” “Heavenly Fierce,” “Heavenly Might,” “Heavenly Heroic,” “Heavenly Noble,” “Heavenly Clever,” and thirty-six other stances.
After the demonstration, the voice continued, “Remember this Mysterious Heaven Body Technique well. It will greatly benefit your future. Each stance is immensely powerful, and they must not be used to harm others, or else you will face heavenly punishment.”
“If you can combine the thirty-six stances into one, eliminate all appearances, leaving only the intent, you will wield infinite power. In the future, you will encounter few adversaries on your path. In summary, the applications of the Mysterious Heaven Body Technique are boundless. You’ll understand it gradually on your own.”
“Alright, it’s time for me to disappear. Before I go, let me leave you with a few words. The Daoist is the essence of all things, a treasure for the virtuous and the protector for the non-virtuous. Kind words can elevate respect, and virtuous deeds can enhance one’s reputation. What reason is there to abandon those who are not virtuous? I hope you can understand this well, and now I can depart with peace of mind.”
The voice became increasingly ethereal and finally vanished.
“Elder! Wait!” Leo shouted, but besides his own voice, there was no sound in this space that resembled the universe.
Leo’s mood plummeted from the mountaintop to the valley. You old man completed your destiny and disappeared, but how do I get out of here!?
Just then, Leo’s surroundings suddenly brightened, and he found himself back in the room.
As for the gourd, it had already turned into fragments in front of Leo.
Next, Leo began practicing the so-called Mysterious Heaven Body Technique based on what he had seen inside the gourd.
The next day, Leo had already become proficient in the Mysterious Heaven Body Technique. After settling his emotions, he resumed his work at the clinic.
Regardless, he could only take it step by step for now. At least until he resolved the troubles brought by Maniwa, he couldn’t return to his previous life.
Leo was well aware that even though he and Sophia were divorced, Maniwa’s actions against him had just begun, and they would reappear.
A week ago, Lachlan took his daughter to travel the country’s beautiful scenery, leaving Leo alone in the Nameless Clinic. Many times, he was too busy to even drink water.
But being busy was also good; at least it temporarily kept him from thinking about Sophia.
It was worth mentioning that Sakura was no longer satisfied with doing odd jobs; she wanted to learn traditional medicine from Leo, just like Sarah.
Leo naturally supported and encouraged this, and he took them both as his apprentices.
Sarah, with a background in science, learned quickly, understanding some of the theories of traditional medicine with ease.
Sakura, a novice, progressed more slowly, but she had great learning perseverance. With Sarah’s help, it was only a matter of time before she became proficient.
After Lachlan left, Leo canceled the afternoon clinic. After lunch, just as he was about to go to his room in the backyard to refine pills and draw talismans, a beautiful policewoman walked into the clinic gate.
This beautiful policewoman was none other than Madame.
Madame was not here to chat with Leo or boast. She sought his assistance in handling a matter.
Madame didn’t initially disclose the nature of the issue but asked Leo to get into the police car and accompany her to a specific location.
The destination was a local hospital, more precisely, the forensic department.
Upon entering the hospital, it seemed desolate, with hardly a soul in sight. The police car stopped in front of an old building.
After getting out of the car, Madame pointed towards the entrance of the building, saying, “Follow me.”
They went up to the third floor, where a corridor turned right. The first room in the corridor was an office, where a middle-aged forensic doctor in a white coat sat.
Madame knocked on the door. The old forensic doctor lifted his head from the worn-out desk, adjusted the thick glasses on his nose, and, upon recognizing Madame, stood up, saying, “Officer Godwin.”
Madame nodded and gestured towards Leo, introducing, “Dr. Davila, this is Dr. Bloomer. Could you please take us to the morgue?”
Roxelio Davila’s eyes glanced over Leo’s face, nodding in acknowledgment, and then he walked out of the office, gesturing towards the right, “Please follow me.”
As Roxelio opened the iron door of the morgue, a cold and eerie atmosphere enveloped them. Leo’s eyebrows couldn’t help but raise-this was not an ordinary chill; it wasn’t ghostly or malevolent, but rather, it carried a sense of malevolence.
Inside the morgue, there was ample space, neatly arranged with dozens of metal beds. On these beds, eleven lifeless bodies lay.
A faint sinister aura lingered in the morgue, emanating from the eleven deceased individuals.
Approaching one of the bodies, Leo lifted the white cloth, and his gaze fell upon the face of the first deceased.
Upon seeing this face, Leo’s brows furrowed involuntarily.
It was a contorted visage, as if blood, fat, and moisture had been simultaneously drained, leaving behind hardened muscles. Even the arms and legs displayed this condition. The eyes protruded, refusing to close, creating a ghastly and horrifying appearance.
