Bringing in a useless son-in-law and then personally kicking him out, perfect!
Martin, who returned from Antique Street after treasure hunting, saw Jessica’s ecstatic expression and couldn’t help but curiously ask, “Dear, what happened? Did you win the lottery?”
“Happier than winning five million in the lottery, Martin, let me tell you some great news!” Jessica pulled Martin to sit beside her.
“What’s the great news?” This was the first time in many years that Martin had seen Jessica like this, and he couldn’t help but feel a bit confused.
“Listen carefully.” Jessica sat up straight and said with emphasis, “Leo and our precious daughter have divorced!”
“What?” Martin didn’t react for a moment.
“I said that useless Leo has divorced Sophia!” Jessica had to repeat it loudly.
This time, Martin reacted, and his eyes widened in shock. “What happened for them to get divorced out of the blue?”
“What do you mean, out of the blue? Sophia has supported him for four years, and it’s already generous enough. He felt he was too ashamed to continue burdening Sophia, so he decided to divorce her.” Jessica stated it as if it were a matter of course.
“The situation probably isn’t that simple…” Martin knew his wife well.
“What do you mean?” Jessica glared and threw Leo’s bank card in front of Martin. “See, this is the bank card Leo left behind when he left, and according to Leo, there are two or three hundred million in it!”
“Two or three hundred million, enough to support us for several lifetimes. Now, thinking back, bringing Leo in was such a wise choice. It seems I have extraordinary foresight…”
“Okay, enough!” Martin didn’t want to hear Jessica boast about herself. “Sophia said she would never divorce Leo no matter what. What happened now? What’s the real story?”
“Don’t worry about it so much. Anyway, the marriage is already over. Consider the money in this bank card as the dowry Leo left when he married Sophia.” Jessica shamelessly said.
Dowry money?
Martin finally witnessed the extraordinary thought process of his wife.
Leo was the one who married into the family. How could there be talk of dowry money!?
“Jessica, if I’m not mistaken, the money in this bank card is meant for Sophia from Leo, right?” Martin quickly realized that Jessica wanted to appropriate the money.
“So what if it’s from Leo to Sophia? Sophia is my daughter, and her money is my money. Can’t I use it?” Jessica retorted loudly.
“It seems that Sophia doesn’t know she’s already divorced from Leo.”
Although Martin was lazy about household affairs, he knew his wife and daughter very well. After a brief surprise, he had guessed what had happened.
“This is the divorce agreement. The deed has been done. Whether or not Sophia knows doesn’t matter anymore.” Jessica proudly pointed to the divorce agreement on the coffee table.
Looking at the divorce agreement, Martin opened his mouth but couldn’t say anything.
“I’m thinking of finding a good match for our Sophia in a while. Once she marries into a wealthy family, that former son-in-law will turn into dust with time.”
Martin sighed deeply; he knew everything was created by Jessica’s own hands but he was powerless to stop it.
The villa door opened and Nora walked in with a sad face.
“Nora, did that freeloader leave?” Jessica turned her head coldly and asked.
“Mr. Bloomer left,” Nora replied sadly.
“Good.” Jessica stood up from the sofa with one hand on her hip and gestured wildly with the other hand. “Throw away all of Leo’s things or anything he used in this living room!”
“What? Jessica…” Nora didn’t expect Jessica to be so ruthless.
“What ‘what’? If you don’t want to throw them out, then pack your bags and leave!” threatened Jessica.
If it were back when Nora had just arrived, after Leo left with nothing, Jessica would have definitely kicked Nora out immediately. But now, things were different. Nora’s presence had saved Jessica a lot of trouble. Not to mention the cleaning, just the meals Nora cooked greatly satisfied Jessica’s appetite.
Knowing that Jessica was a woman of her word, Nora could only suppress the sadness in her heart and tidy up the things in the living room that originally belonged to Leo.
Just as Jessica was preparing to have Martin give her a massage, she caught a glimpse, out of the corner of her eye, of a wedding photo hanging on the living room wall. It was the wedding photo of Leo and Sophia taken at Maple Forest Coast, brought back from the Red Candle Impression Wedding Photography studio a week ago.
Jessica dragged over a chair, stepped onto it with her plump body, and then tore the wedding photo off the wall.
“Out of sight, out of mind. Nora, take this wedding photo out and burn it! Without Leo as a jinx, Sophia’s future life will surely be wonderful.” Jessica ordered Nora imperiously.
Nora dared not say anything more. She found a large cardboard box and reluctantly packed Leo’s belongings along with the wedding photo into the box.
“Nora, can’t you understand human language!? I told you to treat these things like garbage and throw them away. Why are you putting them in a box?” Jessica questioned, hands on her hips.
“Jessica, these things… Can we deal with them when Sophia comes back? What do you think?” Nora weakly asked.
Jessica couldn’t help but raise her hand, and Nora instinctively moved backward. Jessica really wanted to slap Nora hard, but she was afraid of driving her away like last time.
“Nora, Leo has left. In this house, I have the final say. If you still want to continue working here, you’d better behave yourself. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being unkind to you!” Jessica put down her right hand, speaking ruthlessly, “I think the salary I give you is too high compared to your workload. Starting from this month, your salary is halved. Do you have any objections?”
Nora wiped away a tear, remained silent, picked up the cardboard box, and walked towards the living room door.
“If you don’t speak, I’ll take it as your consent!” Jessica looked at Nora’s back and shouted loudly.

Starlight Crescent Club.
After leaving the Cloud Dream Mountain villa area and placing his belongings in the Clinic, Leo came straight to this place.
Over ten minutes later, when Bob, Bevis, Chasel, and others entered the private room, all they saw was a floor full of beer bottles.
Leo, smoking a cigarette with one hand and drinking alcohol with the other, had a face filled with one words-melancholy.
Leo looked up at Bob and the others, gave a bitter smile, and said, “What are you all staring at? Come in and have a drink with me. Today, we’ll drink until we drop!”
