Leo’s words left Black visibly surprised, and he quickly asked, “Just what is it?”
“It’s just that your body has two meridians that are not unobstructed, causing you to feel chest tightness and shortness of breath every time you practice, and occasionally, you experience stabbing pain in your chest,” Leo explained.
Leo’s words astonished Black, who couldn’t help but look at Elroy, thinking that Elroy might have disclosed his health issues to Leo.
Elroy shook his head hastily, saying, “I didn’t say anything.”
Elroy himself was quite surprised. He had invited Leo over to introduce him to Black, but it turned out the two already knew each other.
Black gestured for Leo to follow him inside. “Mr. Bloomer, let’s go inside and talk over some tea.”
In the living room, Black handed a cup of clear tea to Leo. “Mr. Bloomer, I heard Elroy calling you Dr. Bloomer. Are you a doctor?”
Elroy interjected, “Dr. Bloomer is a traditional medicine doctor with remarkable healing abilities.”
“No wonder Mr. Bloomer could spot the issues on my body at a glance,” Black said, suddenly enlightened.
Later, Black’s expression of realization turned into one of anticipation as he asked, “Mr. Bloomer, can you cure the issues in my body?”
Leo nodded and replied, “Certainly, Mr. Dragon. If I’m not mistaken, there should be a flaw in the external martial arts you practice, causing the problems you mentioned.”
Upon hearing that a cure was possible, Black couldn’t help but feel excited. Everything he had achieved was based on his formidable external martial arts, but practicing this set of martial arts had subjected him to prolonged pain.
Now, the prospect of alleviating this pain made him quite thrilled.
“Dr. Bloomer, what should I do?” Black, following Elroy’s lead, directly addressed Leo as Dr. Bloomer.
“Extend your left hand, and I’ll check your pulse for you.”
Following Leo’s instructions, Black extended his left hand.
Leo reached out with his right hand, placing his fingers on Black’s wrist pulse, carefully examining it.
Soon, Leo withdrew his hand.
“How is it, Dr. Bloomer?” Black asked anxiously.
Leo pondered for a moment and replied, “It’s manageable. I can completely cure it, but it will take some time.”
“Dr. Bloomer, please!” Black sighed with relief and sincerely thanked Leo.
“I’ll first clear the meridians for you, and then I’ll impart a set of internal cultivation techniques. Once you master these, you can resolve the issues in your body by cultivating internally to counterbalance the external practice.”
Hearing the words “internal cultivation techniques,” Black’s eyes lit up.
“Mr. Dragon, take off your upper garment and lie on the sofa.”
Without hesitation, Black took off his shirt and lay down on the sofa.
Leo took out a silver needle box from his body and extracted acupuncture needles. He began to use the exquisite acupuncture techniques of the Nine Extreme Mystical Needles to acupuncture Black.
Leo’s task was relatively simple – to use acupuncture in combination with Spiritual Power to directly clear the meridians in Black’s eight extraordinary meridians.
As Leo began the treatment, Black lying on the sofa felt a peculiar sensation within his body.
This inexplicable feeling was beyond description. If one were to make a comparison, it was as if gravity suddenly lost its effect on the body, making it feel light and ethereal.
However, this light and ethereal sensation quickly disappeared, replaced by a powerful sense of oppression as if a small mountain were pressing down on him, making it difficult for Black to breathe.
“Mr. Dragon, endure it for the last needle,” Leo reminded.
When Leo inserted the final needle, the sense of oppression intensified, feeling as if a small mountain had turned into a large mountain, threatening to crush Black’s body.
Yet, even under such immense pain, Black bit down on his teeth, not uttering a single painful groan.
Suddenly, the terrifying sense of oppression vanished, replaced once again by that light and ethereal feeling.
Greedy for air, Black took a couple of deep breaths.
“Mr. Dragon, the meridians in your Eight Extraordinary Meridians have been cleared.” Leo began to remove the silver needles from Black’s back.
After removing all the needles, Black sat up from the sofa and put on his shirt.
“Dr. Bloomer, I can’t thank you enough. Please accept my deepest gratitude!” Black clasped his hands together and bowed deeply to Leo.
Leo extended a helping hand and asked, “How do you feel now?”
Black checked his body again and joyfully exclaimed, “There’s a sensation of being as light as a feather. Even if you ask me to jump seven or eight meters high right now, I feel like I could do it. It’s truly amazing.”
Leo nodded, “I’ll send you the internal cultivation techniques when I return. If you learn and practice them daily, within three months, the lingering issues caused by external martial arts in your body will completely heal.”
The combination of external and internal martial arts held significant meaning for someone well-versed in martial arts, and Black understood this clearly. Leo’s actions could be described as granting him a new lease on life.
Black once again expressed heartfelt gratitude to Leo.
Elroy, sitting on the side, couldn’t help but cough lightly and gave Black a meaningful look.
Understanding the signal, Black turned to Leo and asked, “Dr. Bloomer, I heard from Elroy that you’re searching for three extraordinary herbs: Dragon Whisker Grass, Phoenix Gallbladder, and Goblin Essence. Is that true?”
Leo nodded and said, “Yes, Mr. Dragon. Do you happen to know where these three herbs can be found?”
“Dr. Bloomer, to be honest, I have a map showing the locations of these three extraordinary herbs. I’ve tried to find them more than once but with no success. Eventually, I realized one thing: acquiring these three herbs requires fate,” Black replied.
“Fate? What do you mean?” Leo became curious.
Black took out a small flashlight-like device from his body. After turning it on, he directed the light onto the coffee table in front of them, revealing a map.
“Dr. Bloomer, this is a map of the locations of the three extraordinary herbs. Since you’ve cured my illness and are going to teach me the internal cultivation techniques, as a token of gratitude, I’ll give you this map.” Black handed the flashlight-like device to Leo. “Perhaps you have the fate to find these extraordinary herbs.”
Leo accepted it, opened the device again, and carefully examined the map on the coffee table.
“Mr. Dragon, this map is only a part of it, right?”
“Yes, the part of the map I obtained happens to have clues about the three extraordinary herbs you’re seeking.”
Black wasn’t surprised that Leo could tell it was only a part of the map. By now, he had come to understand that Leo was no ordinary person, not even an ordinary person in the mundane world.
