Although this matter wasn’t accomplished by Bruno, no one knew it was Leo’s doing.
When praised, Bruno naturally accepted it all, smiling and saying, “This isn’t really a big deal. After all, I am currently the acting chairman of the company. Mr. Wilfred still needs to give me some face.”
Just as Bruno and the Henley family’s relatives were feeling pleased with themselves, a disdainful voice sounded, “Chairman? I don’t even consider you one!”
When Bruno saw the owner of the voice, his expression changed involuntarily-it was Mr. Wilfred!
“How can you speak like that? If it weren’t for your fear of Bruno, how could you have given us the privilege to cut in line?” Fanny blurted out thoughtlessly.
“Oh, Bruno, am I afraid of you?” Mr. Wilfred asked, looking at Bruno.
Bruno hadn’t yet recovered from his smugness when a bucket of cold water was poured over him.
“Mr. Wilfred, we were just joking among family members. I’m really sorry,” Bruno quickly softened his tone.
“Joking about me, you really have some nerve, and all of you in this so-called Henley family, if it weren’t for Mr. Bloomer intervening, you would have been spending the night at the crematorium!”
Mr. Bloomer?
This matter wasn’t sorted out by Bruno, but by Mr. Bloomer?
Who could Mr. Bloomer be?
As everyone’s gaze turned towards him, Bruno’s face became extremely embarrassed. He really didn’t want to mention Leo’s name, but at this moment, he had no choice.
“Mr. Bloomer is Leo!” Bruno gritted his teeth.
Leo!?
How could it be him!?
Everyone’s faces showed expressions of disbelief.
Bruno added fiercely, “That wastrel brought people from the Browne family!”
Only then did the Henley family members show a sudden understanding. Instead of feeling grateful to Leo, they became more disdainful.
With Leo’s help, the cremation did not delay the auspicious time.
A few days later, the Henley family’s matter settled down, causing no great sensation in Langstel. After all, the Henley family was just a second-rate family, and the old Mrs. Henley was not a particularly influential figure.
On this day, after dropping Sophia off at work, Leo arrived at a place called Drunk Barnaby on the outskirts of the northern part of the city, as agreed with Elroy.
The location of this Drunk Barnaby was quite remote, and Leo had to rely on navigation to find it.
The name Drunk Barnaby sounded like a farmhouse or a restaurant, but it was actually a three-story villa hidden amidst the mountains and waters.
The location of Drunk Barnaby was well chosen, integrating with the Feng Shui environment, making it an excellent place for leisure and retirement.
After parking the car outside the villa, Leo did not see Elroy as he got out of the car.
Leo had intended to call Elroy but upon seeing the Mercedes parked in front, he abandoned the idea.
Elroy was most likely inside the villa.
Thinking this, Leo walked towards the front door of the villa.
As he reached the front gate, just as Leo was about to knock, he suddenly felt a powerful sense of danger emanating from inside.
Having reached the level of a Great Spiritualist, Leo was extremely sensitive to danger.
Realizing that something might be happening inside, Leo decided to bypass the main entrance and instead went around to the back of the villa, directly scaling the wall to get in.
In the courtyard of the villa at that moment, stood seven men in black tank tops, wearing sunglasses and holding guns.
In front of these seven men, two men knelt on the ground-Elroy and, astonishingly, Black Dragon, whom Leo had briefly encountered in Green Spring City.
Both Black Dragon and Elroy had their hands tied behind their backs, and six of the men were pointing guns at them.
The powerful aura of danger that Leo had sensed outside the courtyard gate was emanating from the leader of the group.
“Black Dragon, don’t try my patience. I’ll ask you again, where are the Dragon Whisker Grass, Phoenix Gallbladder, and Goblin Essence?” the leader spoke, his voice low and icy.
Black Dragon glared angrily at the leader, replying, “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
The leader walked up to Black Dragon, raising his right hand, which exuded a sinister black aura. “Black Dragon, I know who you are and what you’re protecting. Do you really think I wouldn’t dare to kill you?”
Unflinching, Black Dragon stared back at the leader, with a look of resigned defiance.
To Black Dragon’s surprise, instead of immediately killing him, the leader turned to Elroy and spoke malevolently, “It seemslike you have a good relationship with this old man. In that case, I’ll let him die in front of you in agony.”
“If you dare lay a finger on him, I will make sure you have no resting place in death!” Black Dragon shouted in anger.
Though unafraid of death, Black Dragon couldn’t bear to watch Elroy die before his eyes.
Elroy looked at the man in front of him, showing no fear on his face, but rather a relieved smile. “Black Dragon, it seems I have to go first.”
The leader drew a dagger from his person and turned back to Black Dragon, saying, “Only you can save his life. Now, tell me where the spiritual medicine is!”
Black Dragon’s lips moved, but he didn’t say a word.
With a cold snort, the leader swung his right hand holding the dagger towards Elroy’s neck.
A purple light flashed.
“Ding!” The dagger flew out of the leader’s hand.
The six gunmen’s dark gun barrels all pointed in the same direction.
Leo had appeared, his face bearing a chilling expression.
When Leo saw the leader’s face clearly, he couldn’t help but be stunned for a moment because he recognized this man.
Bob had once shown Leo a video recording of an underground boxing match, and the protagonist of that video was Bevis, who was facing off against this man.
This man’s underground fighting alias was the Black Killer God, and his real name was Vincent.
Leo was momentarily stunned because the man who had been defeated by Bevis should have been an ordinary person. However, the aura of murderous intent and eerie energy emanating from this man clearly told Leo that Vincent, also known as the Black Killer God, was anything but ordinary.
“Leo!”
Leo’s appearance brought joy to Elroy’s face and surprise to Black Dragon’s.
Previously, Elroy had only informed Black Dragon that a friend was visiting today, but he hadn’t expected Leo to be that friend.
While in Green Spring, Black Dragon had some understanding of Leo’s capabilities.
Leo’s arrival heralded a turning point in the otherwise certain death situation.
When Vincent heard Elroy call out Leo’s name, he couldn’t help but laugh. “Who would have thought? It’s Langstel’s renowned freeloading son-in-law.”
The six gunmen behind Vincent also couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing his words.
