Chapter 52 Friendly visit

Book:Fated for the Vampire Published:2024-5-1

Damien
The new members of the house have already settled in and they aren’t giving me much of a headache. Well, most of them miss their families and there is even a dad! Sure Lazarus has wrong tastes. The dad misses his wife and son. He has tried sneaking into his own house multiple times to check on them but they think he just abandoned them.
That is the sad life of being turned against your will. You lose all the advantages of your normal life and have to live in the shadows. Some of them have studies, others have jobs and mostly they have families to worry about.
I have been listening to their stories and trying to give them counselling. It is do hard to give others advice when your relationship just slipped out of your hands when there is nothing you could do about it.
There is nothing we can do about the situation of them being turned. They have to accept who they are now and embrace the reality. There is no going back to being human again. The situation is not reversible.
Logan had also been helping in talking to his fellows. Logan is now a confident member of this family. I think he adapted pretty quick because he had nothing to hold him back in the human world.
After a normal session with the new members, I decide to take a walk outside. Today has been a very cloudy day so we have spent most of the day outside. Luther dismisses those in his session and joins me.
“Today I have been talking to one of the new members. She is a student. Her exams are supposed to begin two weeks from now. I told her she could go if she has mastered the necessary skills of being able to be around people in the day. I told her that the sun could be scotching hot that day or she might not be able to resist sucking her fellows dry,” he says.
“It would be better if she doesn’t go. You know that something bad might happen and she is new to what she is. It might be very difficult for her to control her senses,” I tell him and he nods.
“I am going to talk to her again. I know she cares so much about her studies but her safety and that of the others is supposed to be the biggest priority,” he says.
“That’s right,” I respond and then take in a deep breath. I am really trying hard to hold myself together and I have been doing a bit well for the past week. When I am with others, I try to get social and conversational.
There I can put my thoughts aside and try to live, but when I am alone, all my thoughts flood back into my mind and that’s when I realize that I am really lonely. That is when I realize that Clara is really a big part of my life and I need her to be there because I feel incomplete without her.
“I think the space behind the house is better and the landscape is more even. What do think about putting the new building there?” Luther asks me.
“It’s okay. You guys can put it wherever you want. I have no problem if it goes behind or beside the house,” I reply him.
We walk around the house and then back to the front. There is a car coming towards the house. We don’t normally receive guests driving in cars. We don’t even own cars because we don’t need them. Actually, the cars slow us down.
I use my Auspex abilities to detect who it could be before the car reaches the house. Liam? What could he possibly be here for? It has been a long time since he last came here.
He gets out of the car and walks to us. He looks happy. I have never seen him gloomy anyway. It is just how he is. I like his personality.
“Hey, bro,” Liam says while reaching for my hand and shaking it. He also shakes Luther’s hand and then looks around the place.
“It is such a good day for a surprise visit to the Vampire home, don’t you think?” he says.
“It sure is,” Luther responds with a nod.
“You guys are hardly ever outside at such an hour of the day. The weather must be in favour with my plans,” Liam says with a smirk.
“What plans?” I inquire from him with a suspicious look and he smiles at my reactions.
“You look very curious. Perhaps I should save you the trouble of assuming,” he says.
“It must be some interesting plan, I see,” Luther says.
“It is and I came all the way here myself to give you the good news. You are all invited to my party this Saturday,” he says with a proud smile on his face.
“Party? What party?” I ask him.
“My party. I am going to be formally united with my mate,” he replies.
“Your mate? When did you stop being the Werewolf society’s eligible bachelor?” Raul inquires, startling us.
“She is a member of my pack and I have known her for some good time. When I realized that she is my mate, I didn’t want to waste any time. So I have decided to make it official sooner than later,” he replies.
“I am so happy for you, Liam. You deserve to be happy,” I tell him.
“Thank you. I will be happier if you attended my party,” he says. I scratch the back of my head thoughtfully. I don’t know about being in a crowd of Werewolves.
“Clara will be there,” he adds with a knowing smile.
“What?” now he has got my attention.
“You know Clara? How do you know her?” I inquire.
“I know Fabian. My pack and his are having a partnership in a project so we are working together. We have known each other for some good time though I know Clara personally,” he replies.
“How exactly?” I ask him and he chuckles.
“We are good friends. You can ask her the details when you come to my party. I know you miss her a lot and you haven’t been able to see her since Fabian took her away. I am offering you this opportunity as a good friend. I care about your happiness and mostly Clara’s happiness,” he replies.
“So you have met Clara?” I ask him and he nods yes.
“How is she? Is she alright?” Is she happy? I don’t ask the last question but I really want to know.
“I was at Fabian’s house three days ago. I saw her there. She looked fine to me but not as happy as she should be. She is trying really hard to be strong for the both of you,” he replies and my body relaxes in relief. If Clara is going to be strong for us, then I am not going to back off.
“It’s good if she is okay. Are you sure she is going to be there?” I inquire from him just to make sure.
“I am not sure but I gave her the invitation myself. I hope she makes it,” he replies.
“So Fabian is also going to be there?” I ask him, even though the answer seems really obvious.
“Yes he is. I couldn’t leave him out. I have paves a way for you to go and see Clara. You should figure out the rest for yourself,” he says.
“I really appreciate your effort, Liam. You don’t know how much this means to me,” I tell him and he waves me off.
“I am sure I can understand how much Clara means to you. I don’t want the two of you to be apart so I am just doing the least I can do to help,” he says.
“Thanks, Liam. I am going to make sure you efforts don’t go to waste,” I tell him and he pats on my shoulder.
“I hope so. By the way, don’t forget to come in large numbers. I might prepare some tasty humans for you if you all come,” he says and Raul nudges his shoulder. We all laugh at his statement. He can’t be serious, can he?
“Okay, I was just kidding. Feed yourselves before you show up because I am not going to take that risk,” he says.
“For a moment I thought you were serious,” Raul says with a huge grin on his face.
“I could do that if you are serious about it,” Liam tells him.
“That would be great,” Raul says
Oh! I can’t believe these two!
When Liam finally leaves, we head back into the house. Well, Liam just brightened up my mood. I care less that Fabian will be at that party. What matters most is that Clara will be there. Surely, I will get a chance to see her, and maybe embrace her. We might be able to get a chance to talk.
This Saturday!
What day is today? Tuesday. Only three days from today. Three days! These three days are going to be even longer than this last week of not being with Clara. God! I wish today was Friday. Ugh! I wish the party was tonight.
Now I miss her even more now that Liam talked about her. I just want to hold her in my arms and tell her how proud I am of her for staying strong for us. I just want to kiss away her sadness and assure her that everything is going to be fine.
Three days. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Will they ever pass? I feel so restless. So impatient! I feel like tonight might not even end so that I can wait for tomorrow to end.
Ugh! I have never done such a restless countdown in my life. I wonder what I will wear that day! Who cares if I wear a sack? All that matters is that I meet my girl.
I need to come back to my senses! I can’t just show up at Liam’s party and embarrass him infront of his guests, after all that he has done for me. I will find something presentable in my closet that I can wear that night.
Ugh! It is still five o’clock in the evening! When will it reach midnight? When will Friday reach! I wish I could just close my eyes and open them on Saturday.
