Clara
It has been over a week since I last saw Damien and I am starting to cope up. I admit that this last week has been the worst week of my life but I feel better after having multiple visits from Emily. She managed to annoy me and comfort me all together.
Her point of view of what happened was like Jason’s. I don’t blame her. Everyone else in this pack has a different idea of what happened and a wrong mindset towards Damien. However, Emily managed to believe my side of the story.
I have been trying to avoid father, but I met him yesterday at dinner. He didn’t say anything to me and I wasn’t interested in saying anything to him or to anyone.
At first, I didn’t want to see or talk to anyone. I felt like everyone was to blame for what t was going through but now I don’t blame anyone. If I were father, I would have done the same thing. Who would let their enemy have their daughter? Not him, not anyone.
I still miss Damien a lot. The longer we stay apart, the more I crave him. I haven’t been able to spend even a single hour without thinking about him because everything around me just reminds me of him. Even the woods! We are surrounded by woods and every time I look at a tree, gosh! I remember that time when he pinned me onto a tree back when I transformed and he gave me his coat to wear.
I haven’t been able to forget anything about him. I just can’t. Well unless I reject him. Which is not one of the things I plan on doing! Ever!
Today, I went for shopping with Emily. She is the jolly companion that I need in my situation. Ofcourse, I had to get permission from dad and he had to get get us a driver to escort us and keep watch just incase a Vampire comes to snatch me away.
We have bought a lot of necessary and unnecessary stuff, spending a lot of our fathers’ money. The least of things I can do to dad right now is spend dad’s money. He wouldn’t even mind as long as I am not with Damien.
We part ways and I enter the house. I have all these shopping bags in both my hands and I don’t have any idea what exactly I bought but all I can tell you is that it is just a bunch of girly stuff.
I also bought some sexy lingerie. Under normal circumstances, I would be looking forward to seducing my man in them but ha! Normal escaped long time ago.
I am going to keep the sexiest ones. Uhh… For insurance purposes. Just in case the moon goddess gives Damien and me another chance to be together again. I wonder if he would like them…
“Clara!” a familiar voice calls me when I enter the house. Oh, it’s Alpha Liam. He has a beaming grin on his face. He is standing with Jason.
“I have been waiting for you,” he says to me. I frown my face in confusion.
“Why would a busy Alpha like you wait for me?” I inquire from him.
“I can here to give everyone my invitation to my party,” he replies, “And since you are a good friend of mine, I couldn’t leave without inviting you myself. I thought when I invite you personally, you won’t turn down my invitation.”
“Okay. What is the party about?” I ask him.
“I finally found my queen,” he responds with a self-satisfied smile on his lips.
“You did?” I exclaim in shock. “Whoa! Congratulations! Where is she? Did you bring her with you?”
“Thank you, but I didn’t bring her. I left her home. My mom is busy drowning her in kisses,” he replies and I can’t help but laugh at his response.
“She’s so lucky. When is the party?” I ask him.
“Next week on Saturday. I will send you the invitation cards next week and they will have the exact time when the party will begin,” he replies.
“I am sure the party would be fantastic! I promise to be there and early,” I respond with a smile.
He removes the shopping bags from my hands and I stare wide-eyed at him as he places them on the table.
“Will you please escort me out, Ms Clara?” he asks me with a raised eyebrow.
“Sure,” I respond. He turns and looks at Jason who has been watching us quietly.
“Is it okay if Clara escorts me out?” he asks him.
“Ofcourse, a head. Have a be safe journey,” Jason replies.
“Thank you,” he replies and then holds my hand. He leads me out of the house without saying another word.
When we reach out, Liam releases my hand and stands in front of me. His expression turns from friendly to serious. I wonder if I am in trouble.
“I had what happened, but I don’t believe it. I want you to tell me the truth. Tell me exactly what happened,” he says. I have been doing a lot of explains lately and every session ends with me in years. But I guess I am used now. I can tell Liam and I hope I won’t cry.
“Look, I know Damien,” he says and my mouth goes agape.
“You do?” I ask him and he knows.
“How?” I inquire. I know very well that Damien’s family doesn’t associate a lot with werewolves so how come?
“Okay, we are not very close friends but we aren’t enemies. I have met him a few times and one of the things that I like about him is that he is a great leader.
“Actually, he is a really nice Vampire unlike the Vampire rogues I have met before. His family is really organised and friendly. Why am I even telling you all that? Damien is your mate and you have been there with them,” he says and I nod in approval.
“I also know what happened between Alpha Fabian and Damien’s parents. I also know what Damien and his fellows did to Fabian’s father but I am not going to take sides here. Both Alpha Fabian and Damien are good friends of mine and I don’t want to lose any of their trust. Tell me what happened when you were kidnapped. Was Damien involved in this?” he says.
I take a deep breath and try to process what he just said. If Liam and Damien are friends, then he knows him well to believe that he wouldn’t do anything to harm me.
“I was kidnapped by Lazarus. He turned rogue after he was banished from his clan,” I begin the narration and Liam nods to urge to go ahead.
“Well, Lazarus has a grudge against Damien because he is the one who suggested that he gets banished from his position and Clan. So Lazarus kidnapped me knowing that Damien would come and get me. However I escaped before Damien had got there and Lazarus was captured and locked up. See, Damien just wanted to save me and those turned humans,” I tell him.
“That sounds more like the truth. I know that rogue, Lazarus and he used to enslave his disciples. That’s why he was banished. So he is the one who has been turning the humans into Vampires. He needed to be stopped and it had to be through you,” he says and I nod.
“That already shows how important you are in Damien’s life both as an individual and as a leader. He is a good Vampire king but he he needs his queen by his side. Your father should be able to understand this. He should let you go. You don’t belong here, queen of the Vampires. You belong where you really belong, and that is not here with your father and pack. You belong in a different society,” he says.
“I wish father could also understand that but he is too held up in his hatred for Damien to realize the truth. He wants me to Reject him,” I say, while looking down at the ground. I am trying to keep my tears in. I don’t want to cry infront of this Alpha despite the fact that he is really nice.
“Do you want to reject him?” he asks me.
“No, ofcourse not. I love him despite everything that has happened and I am not going to give up on us,” I reply.
“Then don’t. Don’t Reject him if you still want him. Fabian won’t be able to keep you apart forever. He might be a strong Alpha but he can’t go against the will of the moon goddess. He should instead figure out how to resolve his issues with his son-in-law other than locking you up,” he says. as and then looks around. It’s good that Liam thinks like that but there is nothing I can do to change father’s mindset.
“Anyway, I should get going now. You should stay strong, Clara. When you show determination towards what you really want, then the moon goddess will surely show favour on you,” he says and then waves me goodbye with a friendly smile on his face. I smile back at him and he gives me a thumbs up.
The driver opens the door for him and he enters the car. I watch as his car goes past to the driveway and into main road.
Stay strong, Clara.
His words echo through my head as I watch his car disappear into the road.
I am going to stay strong. Damien is not going to give up on us then why would I? We are going to be together again. Father won’t keep us apart forever. The moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes.
I walk back into the house and carry my shopping bags up to my bedroom. I feel even lighter after talking to Liam. I can feel the hope, though small, but I feel like Damien and I are going to be able to be together again. Not even dad can stop the power of fate. He can’t go against the will of the goddess.
We might not be having a clear plan right now but I believe in fate. Fate will bring us together. That us the positive mindset that I should keep so that I don’t lose hope.
