The young man had a chiseled face, a prominent nose, a tall figure, and was adorned in high-end brands. The watch on his wrist seemed to be worth several hundred thousand dollars. His entire demeanor exuded the aristocratic air of a wealthy scion.
“Nelson, sorry for the delay. We encountered a fan along the way,” Vanessa giggled, looking alluring, as if she wished to melt into him. “Please forgive us.”
“It’s my honor that you could make it, regardless of the timing,” Nelson said, sipping his red wine. He then turned to Tina and said, “This must be the Tina you mentioned, Miss Henley, the second daughter of the Henley family?”
“Exactly, she’s Tina Henley.” Vanessa introduced Tina with a smile. “Just like me, she’s a student at Langstel Media University.”
“Miss Henley, hello.” Nelson extended his right hand. “I’m Nelson Bernard. I hope you’ll take good care of me in the future.”
His smile was radiant, but his eyes flickered with sinister thoughts, stirred by Tina’s youth, innocence, and purity.
“Nelson, hello.” Tina nodded slightly, choosing not to shake hands. Then she pulled Leo over. “Let me introduce. This is my boyfriend, Leo.”
She could sense the heat in Nelson’s eyes, so she used Leo as a shield.
“Leo?” Nelson’s eyes lit up instantly. “Boyfriend?”
“Nelson, Tina’s joking with you,” Vanessa cut in, dismantling Tina’s statement. “Leo and Tina are just ordinary friends. He runs a small clinic, charging no more than one hundred bucks for a consultation. How could Tina be interested in him?”
The whole room burst into laughter. Apparently, having someone who runs a small clinic attend a high-society gathering was lowering the standards.
“Oh, I see.” Nelson nodded knowingly, then disdainfully looked at Leo. With a smirk, he warned, “Kid, don’t get involved where you shouldn’t. It’s easy to invite trouble.”
“Tina, Leo is indeed my boyfriend,” Tina hastily exclaimed.
Everyone present shook their heads and laughed lightly, seemingly thinking Tina’s ploy was too weak.
“Miss Henley, stop playing around,” Nelson laughed heartily. “How could a toad eat swan meat?”
Just as Nelson finished speaking, Leo directly embraced Tina’s slender waist, then leaned in and kissed her cheek. “Isn’t this eating it?” he said.
Tina didn’t expect Leo to dare kiss her. She discreetly pinched him hard around the waist, causing Leo to grimace in pain.
However, Nelson didn’t notice Tina’s subtle move or the pain on Leo’s face. All he knew was that this stranger kissed the woman he had coveted for a long time.
Nelson’s fists clenched instantly, and a murderous intent subtly surfaced in his eyes.
Who was Nelson?
A bona fide second-generation wealthy, his family was well-known in the northern part of the capital.
The women he desired were never beyond his reach, even A-list actresses could be easily obtained by him.
What angered him even more was Leo’s disregard for his warning, publicly humiliating him.
A mere ant dared to challenge him; it was truly ignorant.
Nelson was furious.
Vanessa and the others shared the same anger.
They all knew Leo was a pawn, but they didn’t expect him to be so audacious as to kiss Tina in public, a direct slap to Nelson’s face.
“Now do you believe Tina is my girlfriend?” Leo struck Nelson verbally. “If you don’t, I can provide more profound evidence.”
“Bro, you’re quite bold,” a young man with long hair stepped forward, staring at Leo with a fierce gaze. “Got some serious cash at home, daring to compete with Nelson for a woman? Miss Henley is so beautiful; do you measure up? Can you afford her? Can you keep her?”
The others nodded in agreement. Beautiful women were always accessories to the privileged, something the poor weren’t worthy of possessing, even temporarily.
Leo smiled casually, “No mines at home, but I’ve got money to take care of a woman.”
“Bro, I’ve only got a few million in assets. I feel I can’t afford Miss Henley,” the long-haired youth continued to mock Leo’s self-assurance. “With such grandiosity, you must have assets in the billions, right?”
Leo shook his head gently, “No, I’ve got tens of billions.”
Several girls rolled their eyes, chuckling and sneering. Tens of billions? Too much bragging. Why not claim to be flying to the moon?
Nelson burst into laughter, his eyes filled with mockery and amusement.
“Ah, turns out it’s Mr. Bloomer with tens of billions. My apologies.” The long-haired youth swung his long hair theatrically, feigning a gasp. “I’ve underestimated you. Please, Mr. Bloomer, take care of yourself in the future.”
Nelson joined in, “Nick, be sensible, don’t offend Mr. Bloomer, or he might use a few billion to squash you.”
“Understood, understood.” Nick, the long-haired youth, nodded and bowed. “I’ll definitely treat Mr. Bloomer well.”
His overly deferential manner amused everyone, deepening the disdain the beautiful girls felt for Leo.
“Mr. Bloomer, with tens of billions, you’re quite the tycoon in Langstel.” Nelson shook his Rolex, casually approaching. “I’m here in Langstel to organize a forest adventure city in Chicken Foot Mountain, looking for around ten billion in funding.”
“I originally thought of approaching Hengfeng Bank, but hearing that you’re so wealthy, I suddenly thought of giving you the opportunity. In three years, you can recover your investment, and within ten years, you’ll make at least ten billion in profit.”
“With your current wealth in the tens of billions, lending me ten billion shouldn’t be a problem, right?”
The ladies holding their wine burst into laughter, wine spilling. Nelson seemed determined to humiliate Leo.
“Leo, let’s go back.” Tina, angry and upset, prepared to pull Leo away.
Unexpectedly, Leo held onto her, intrigued. “Investing ten billion, making ten billion in profit within ten years-that’s a significant return. Give me a business proposal. If the project is viable, I’ll consider investing ten billion.”
“A business proposal? Investing ten billion?” Laughter erupted, and they looked at Leo as if he were a fool.
Nelson was playing with him, and instead of realizing it, Leo was asking for a business proposal, as if he could really pull out ten billion.
Truly reaching a new level of foolishness.
“Thanks, Mr. Bloomer. I’ll give you the business plan tomorrow. Leave your address, and I’ll personally visit with a generous gift.” Nelson laughed recklessly, then turned to the crowd. “Come over, everyone, and meet Langstel’s top rich guy.”
“Tens of billions in wealth, casually pulling out ten billion. Even Hengfeng Bank can’t match Mr. Bloomer’s generosity. In the future, if you lack funds for a good project, just look for Mr. Bloomer. Ten billion or eight billion, no problem!”
