Clara
Getting home, the party mode has already been activated. The house looks fantastic. I am sure this party is going to be a hit!
Reaching my room, I find a new dress in my wardrobe. So this is the dress that Jason was talking about. It looks amazing and I am sure it will fit me like a glove. I know it will look pretty on me.
My brother really has a good choice in fashion, or it could have been Riley who picked it out for me. She seems to be having a better taste in fashion than him.
I sit on my bed and try to get mentally prepared for the rest of the day. I think I left my head in Damien’s house because he is on the front of my brain. If my father asks for my mate, I will tell him that he couldn’t make it. He has never met my mate, though he knows him but not as my mate.
I wish he could understand that we are now mates and they is no need for them to hold the grudges they have against each other anymore. I know I am asking for too much but I wish they could just forget the past and move on. That way, things could be easier for Damien and me.
I could get engaged with him and start living with him. Everything would be great. There wouldn’t have to be any fear, only peace and harmony, but I know that will happen only in my day dreams.
The hatred they both hold on their hearts against each other is too much to be ended with a handshake. I wish there is something I can do to end all of this.
There is a knock at the door which startles me out of my reverie. Who could it be? I keep asking myself as I walk to the door. The only person I am not ready to see right now is my father.
“Clara!” Emily shrieks when I open the door. A large grin forms on my face reflecting mine. I think my best friend is the right person I need right now.
“I haven’t seen you in like forever. What have you been up to?” she says while walking into my room.
“I know, right? It feels like it has been years,” I tell her and she nods.
“So what is it that has been keeping you so occupied instead of me. I haven’t been seeing you around ever seeing you told me you had met your mate in town. Have you met him again?” she says.
“Yes, I met him again,” I reply with a shy smile. She cocks her head to one side and raises an eyebrow at me.
“That smile tells me that you didn’t just meet him once. Tell me all about those many times you two met. How is he? Is he hot? Which pack does he belong to?” Emily generally drowns me in questions.
“Okay, one at a time. He is a very charming guy. He is really tall and well built. His name is Damien and he doesn’t belong to any pack,” I reply.
“Ohh. The way you describe him really tells a lot. And that name… So sexy,” she says while dramatically fanning herself with her hands. I can’t help but smile at her reaction.
“Is he a rogue? I heard that some rogues are really sexy. Is he a human?” she inquires from me. Should I tell her the truth? She is my best friend and I don’t think it would be fair to lie to her. We have grown up together and shared the darkest and stupidest of secrets.
“He is a vampire,” I tell her and her eyes grow unbelievably wide, almost popping out of their sockets.
“Whoa! Are you serious? Vampires are really sexy and handsome. No wonder that name is very hot,” she says.
“I know. I was shocked at first because it was never in my wildest dreams to have a Vampire mate. My expectations were a werewolf or human. Now I know that fate had a different plan for me,” I tell her and she nods.
“It doesn’t matter whether werewolf, Rogue, human or Vampire mate. All that matters is that he is able and willing to love you and cherish you as his mate,” she tells me.
“I would really like to meet this sexy vampire of yours. He is yours right? Did you mark him?” she inquires from me.
“Yes, he marked me too,” I reply while remembering the sweet moment when we claimed each other.
“Ohh… You guys are so serious. I think you guys have been together a lot of times. Does your father know that you have found him?” she asks me.
“Yes, I told him about him, but he hasn’t met him yet,” I reply.
“Is he coming to the party tonight?” she asks.
“No, I don’t think so,” I reply.
“Why not? Didn’t you invite him?”
“I told him but I don’t think he is ready to meet my family.”
“That’s okay but I was really getting excited to meet him,” she says.
“You will have to meet him when the right time comes. It is not like I am going to hide him from you forever,” I tell her.
Emily stands up and starts walking to my closet.
“What are you going to wear tonight?” she asks me.
“A dress. Jason bought it for me,” I reply.
“Really? Can I have a look at it?”
“Sure,” I respond and got to pick up the dress for her to have a look.
“Wow! That looks pretty expensive. I am sure you will look very stunning in it,” she she compliments while testing the dress on herself in front of the mirror.
“I think it can also fit me. Can I borrow it later when, you know, Matt asks me out for a date some time?” she asks me. We are always invading into each other’s wardrobes, only that we used to do that a lot when we were teenagers.
“Sure. Any time,” I respond with a smile and she squeals in excitement.
Six hours later, the guests have started arriving. From my window upstairs, I can see posh cars arriving infront of the pack house. I know only rich Alpha’s and their Lunas, Betas and their families, plus other rich individuals in the werewolf world are the only ones invited.
I start getting ready by washing up and putting on my new fabulous dress. I put on make up and do my hair, curling it into simple waves. I would have asked for someone to help me get ready, but I don’t want an exaggerated make over. I want a simple but beautiful look which I can give myself.
When I am sure that I am ready, I get out of my room and head downstairs. I start mentally preparing myself to meet father and what I will tell him. He will be probably occupied with his fellow Alphas, he won’t mind if my mate hasn’t come. It is not that big of a deal, is it?
There are much more guests on the venue that I thought and more are still coming. I have ever met most of them because most of their faces look very familiar.
Some have smiles on their faces when I pass by them Then I know that those ones know me. I have to stop and welcome them.
I find Jason and Riley in the middle of the crowd. A huge grin forms on Jason’s face when he sees me coming their way. They both look stunning.
“Clara! You made it,” Riley squeals when she sees me. She looks very excited. I guess she has been smiling a lot. I reach her embrace her into a bear hug.
“Ofcourse I had to be here. I wouldn’t miss this awesome party for anything else in the world,” I tell her.
“You look so beautiful,” I tell her.
“Thank you. I know that dress would look good on you,” she tells me and I turn around for her to see.
“It fits just like a glove,” I tell her and she chuckles.
“I am the one who told her the size because I know my little sister so well,” Jason jumps in.
“Obviously,” I say and roll my eyes, generating laughs from the two.
“Anyway, you guys enjoy your party. You both look stunning and I know this party is going to be a huge success. I wish the best of luck,” I tell them.
“Thank you. Enjoy yourself too, dear,” Riley tells me.
“I will,” I tell them and excuse myself from them so that they can attend to their guests.
I look around for someone I know, but most of them are way too old for me to hung out with. Maybe I will run into Emily. I hope she has already arrived.
I have already had two glasses of wine and I miss my Damien a lot. I am thinking that since I have already shown up and the hosts have seen me, I should to my room and change so that I can go to Damien’s place. We could try out his plan of chaining me to his bed so that we can have a more fun night. Mmm.. I would really love that.
I haven’t drunk a lot. Just two glasses of wine and I have already started feeling like he is here. I can smell his scent in this massive crowd of guests. I must be hallucinating because there is no way Damien is coming to attend this party. I shouldn’t have anymore wine. I should have some water.
