Chapter 633: Going Out to Eat

Of course, Nora had a deep understanding of Jessica’s behavior after working with her for some time. If Jessica hadn’t blatantly challenged Leo’s bottom line, things wouldn’t have turned out this way.
“Jessica, listen carefully. If you weren’t Sophia’s mother, you probably wouldn’t even have the chance to roll on the ground!” Leo’s words, like a sharp knife, stabbed directly at Jessica’s heart.
Jessica’s heart at this moment was genuinely chilled. She knew she couldn’t beat Leo, so her only option was to roll on the ground and cry miserably. She hoped to gain Sophia’s sympathy, pulling Sophia to her side to face Leo together.
But what disappointed Jessica immensely was that even with all her crying and rolling on the ground, Sophia showed no intention of helping her.
“Sophia, you ungrateful girl. Can you watch your mother being bullied by a son-in-law who married into the family? Doesn’t your heart ache?” Jessica looked at Sophia with a pitiful expression.
Sophia looked at Jessica, her expression solemn and serious. “Mom, I know what you’re thinking, and there’s no need for this. Let me make it clear. Leo, Nora, and her daughter are all my family!”
“Although your name is now on the property certificate as you wished, it doesn’t change the fact that Leo is the head of this family. You have no right to oppress anyone in this house!”
“If you continue with this unreasonable behavior and stubbornness, you have only two options-either go back to your old house or Leo and I, along with Nora, will move out. You’ll be responsible for the annual property fees and maintenance costs yourself!”
Sophia stated this firmly, and Jessica suddenly stopped rolling on the ground, sitting down on the floor. She knew that even if she hanged herself now, it wouldn’t help.
Nora felt awkward, uncomfortable with the situation. She looked at Leo and Sophia, apologizing, “Mr. Bloomer, Sophia, I’m really sorry. My daughter and I have caused you trouble.”
Sophia quickly said, “Nora, you haven’t done anything wrong in our house. It’s my mom who went too far. We should be the ones apologizing to you.”
Leo’s gaze moved away from Jessica on the ground, and he looked at Nora, saying, “Nora, you mentioned earlier that Lucy wanted to treat us to dinner in Langstel. Instead of picking a date, let’s do it tonight. Let’s go out to eat!”
To avoid any unreasonable actions from his mother-in-law, Sophia thought Leo’s suggestion was good and agreed, “Yes, let’s go out to eat. Lucy came all the way from Beijing North, so let’s consider it as welcoming her.”
Nora agreed in her heart but had to consider Jessica and Martin. She hesitated and said, “Mr. Bloomer, Sophia, I’ve only prepared enough for one person. If we go out now, what about Sister Fang and Brother Li?”
Leo waved his hand dismissively, “Don’t worry about that. My mom is good at everything, and cooking a meal is a small matter for her. It’s settled, we’re going out to eat, and Lucy is treating. I’ll foot the bill!”
“Ah, how can that be? Leo, we agreed that I would treat and pay.” Lucy quickly spoke up.
“It doesn’t matter. Let’s go,” Leo said with a sweep of his hand.
Jessica, who was sitting on the ground, infuriated, watched the four people leave happily.
After Jessica got up from the ground, the door to the guest room opened, and Martin walked out.
“Martin, I suggest you die amidst your pile of antique junk. I got beaten up by that useless Leo, and you, you coward, curled up in your room pretending not to hear. You heartless wimp!” With no outlet for her frustration, Jessica had to vent her anger on Martin.
Martin sat on the sofa, took a sip of tea, glanced at Jessica, and said, “Huqiong, is it fun for you to act recklessly like this from time to time?”
This remark ignited a powder keg in Jessica’s heart. She rushed towards Martin in three swift steps, then, with pinpoint accuracy, twisted Martin’s ear and shouted angrily, “Martin, you heartless bastard! You have the nerve to say I’m acting recklessly!? Do you have any idea how much I’ve sacrificed for this family?”
“And you, you only know how to mess around with your antique junk all day! If you won’t help me, fine, but you dare to say such heartless words. I’m done with you!” After saying this, Jessica, with teeth bared and claws out, pounced on Martin.
What followed was what could be described as a domestic violence scene, not suitable for children.
At Cloud Dream Mountain, in an upscale restaurant, Leo and the others reserved a private room. After the dishes were served, Lucy poured tea for Leo, Sophia, and her mother. She then stood up, lifted her tea cup, and smiled, “Leo, Sophia, thank you for taking care of my mom. I’m grateful, and I’ll express my gratitude with tea instead of wine. Cheers to you.”
Nora also raised her tea cup, looking at Leo and Sophia, saying, “Mr. Bloomer, Sophia, thank you.”
Leo chuckled, “Lucy, it’s not easy for your mother to put you through college alone. When you graduate and find a job, be sure to take good care of your mother.”
“Leo, don’t worry. My mom and I depend on each other. After I graduate, I’ll find a good job and let my mom enjoy her later years.” Lucy promised.
Leo and Sophia also raised their tea cups. After clinking cups with Nora and Lucy, they drank.
Sophia picked up the chopsticks, picked some dishes for Lucy, and said with a smile, “Lucy, the dishes in this restaurant are quite good. You must be hungry; eat more.”
“Thank you, Sophia.” Lucy thanked quickly.
As the four of them ate, they engaged in casual conversation. When dinner was coming to an end, Lucy wiped her mouth with a tissue, stood up, and said, “Excuse me, I’ll go to the restroom.”
After nods from the three, Lucy opened the door of the private room and walked out.
Three or four minutes later, Lucy came out of the restroom and fixed her slightly disheveled hair in front of the mirror.
After tidying her hair, Lucy prepared to return to the private room.
“Hey, beautiful, let’s get acquainted.”
Just a few steps out of the restroom, a drunken, blurry-eyed man appeared in front of Lucy, reeking of alcohol.
Lucy, disgusted, gave the man a disdainful look and replied, “Sorry, not interested.”
Saying that, Lucy tried to quickly walk back to the private room, but the drunk man had no intention of letting her go. He reached out and grabbed Lucy’s arm.
“Ah! Pervert, let go!” Lucy screamed in shock.
“Beauty, don’t be scared. Come have a drink with me; I’ll treat you well.” The drunken man smirked and forcefully pulled Lucy, attempting to embrace her.
