Leo knew what Lucy was worried about. He smiled and said, “Does your mother work in the Cloud Dream Mountain villa area?”
“How do you know?” Lucy’s face showed surprise.
Leo continued, “Is your mother’s name Nora?”
Lucy: …
From Lucy’s expression, Leo knew he had the answer he wanted.
“Do you know my mom?” After a brief astonishment, Lucy hurriedly asked.
Leo nodded, “Your mom works at my house.”
“Ah…” Lucy opened her mouth wide, an incredulous expression on her beautiful face. “You’re Leo!?”
“Yes.”
Coincidences make for interesting stories.
Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza underground parking lot.
When Sophia stepped out of the elevator and saw Leo standing next to the Audi, along with a young and beautiful girl, she couldn’t help but pause.
“Who’s this?” Sophia asked in confusion.
Lucy took a step forward, a sweet smile on her face, and said to Sophia, “Hello, Sophia. I’m Lucy. Leo saved me.”
Now Sophia was even more puzzled.
Leo then explained to Sophia how he rescued Lucy from the unscrupulous cab driver.
After understanding the situation, Sophia comforted Lucy and said, “Let’s go. We’ll take her home.”
“Sophia, guess again, whose daughter is she?”
“Whose daughter? Lucy, Lucy…” Clever Sophia immediately realized, “Could she be Nora’s daughter!?”
“Smart, you got it right!”
“This is too coincidental. You can encounter such things. You’re really something, Leo.” Sophia couldn’t help but give Leo a thumbs up.
“Lucy, let’s go. We’re heading home to see your mom,” Sophia said, pulling Lucy into the back seat of the car.
Leo remained the driver. After the three got in the car, the Audi left the underground parking lot and headed straight for the Cloud Dream Mountain villa area.
Arriving at Villa No. 9, the car parked in the villa’s parking space. Leo and Sophia, accompanied by Lucy, walked directly to the villa’s entrance.
Lucy was visiting such a high-end and luxurious place for the first time. Apart from feeling a bit nervous, she also had some uneasiness.
Opening the door and entering the living room, Nora happened to come out of the kitchen with a plate of cooked dishes.
She greeted Leo and Sophia first. When her gaze moved to Lucy, she couldn’t help but freeze.
Hastily placing the dishes on the dining table, Nora took three quick steps towards Lucy.
“Lucy!”
“Mom!”
Tears welled up in Lucy’s eyes as she threw herself into her mother’s embrace.
Thinking about it carefully, the mother and daughter hadn’t seen each other for over half a year.
After the warmth, Nora suddenly realized something and asked strangely, “Mr. Bloomer, Sophia, why is Lucy back with you?”
Lucy quickly cast a pleading look at Leo and Sophia.
Understanding Lucy’s intention, Leo didn’t want her mother to worry, so he said to Nora, “Nora, Lucy was left at the foot of Cloud Dream Mountain by an unscrupulous driver. Sophia and I saw her waving on our way back and decided to give her a ride. We learned her situation during the conversation in the car and found out she’s your daughter.”
“That’s too coincidental,” Nora said, suddenly remembering the food still in the kitchen. “Mr. Bloomer, Sophia, please have a seat and rest. Lucy, help mom in the kitchen to prepare dinner.”
Nora had just finished speaking when a sarcastic voice chimed in, “Where did this little fox spirit come from? Quite striking! Nora, is this the daughter you’re so proud of?”
Jessica had entered the living room from outside at some point.
“Mom, why are you speaking so harshly! Nora works and lives in our house, and Lucy is her daughter. They are both our family members!” Sophia looked at Jessica and said disapprovingly.
Jessica’s shrewish nature erupted again. She immediately pointed at Nora, spewing words, “Bah! Family? Don’t make me laugh! Nora, remember, no matter how good your relationship is with Sophia and Leo, in our house, you’re just a servant. And I am your true master!”
As Jessica’s finger was about to poke Nora’s eye, Leo pushed Jessica, causing her to stagger and almost fall.
Regaining her balance, Jessica, first surprised, glanced at Leo and then, like a crazed mother tiger, roared, “Leo, you useless piece of junk, how dare you use your dog paws to push me!?”
Leo’s face turned icy. He warned, “In this house, you’d better behave yourself. If you dare to push my limits again, I will throw you out of this villa without hesitation!”
Leo’s ruthless words left Jessica petrified.
Originally, Jessica thought that after the ownership of Villa No. 9 changed to Sophia’s name, she could rise from being a serf and act recklessly.
But the current reality told Jessica that even if Leo wasn’t the owner of this villa, he would still lay hands on her, and he did so in front of Sophia.
Most importantly, Sophia observed everything indifferently, showing no intention to help her.
Seeing the atmosphere becoming more tense, Nora quickly apologized to Jessica, “Madame, please calm down. It’s all my fault…”
Jessica, still furious, didn’t wait for Nora to finish. She raised her right hand and aimed a slap at Nora’s cheek.
However, Jessica’s hand didn’t reach Nora’s face because Leo grabbed her wrist.
Now, Jessica felt like her right hand was caught in a vise, unable to move a bit. She couldn’t help but curse, “Leo, are you really rebelling!? I’m just teaching an ignorant servant a lesson, and you dare to stop me. I’m Sophia’s biological mother. Treating me like this, has your conscience been eaten by a dog!? Let go!!”
Leo released Jessica’s wrist and then gave her a push.
Jessica fell to the ground with a “smack,” followed by a painful groan of “ouch.”
Jessica opted to lie on the ground, rolling around and making a scene, “This is unfair, a freeloading son-in-law dares to lay hands on his mother-in-law… I don’t want to live anymore… Leo, if you have the guts, just kill me, right in front of Sophia… sob, sob…”
Jessica’s tantrum skills had reached a masterful level.
Leo and Sophia were immune to such scenes, but Nora and her daughter Lucy were different. This spectacle left the mother and daughter stunned.
At the same time, they never expected Leo to confront his mother-in-law for them.
