“Doctor, my son is my lifeline. You saved him, so you are our savior!”
The boy’s father, brimming with gratitude, quickly pulled out his wallet, emptied it of cash, and forcefully handed it to Leo. He simultaneously knelt in front of Leo, expressing his gratitude in this manner.
Leo promptly helped the boy’s father up, saying, “Healing and saving lives is the duty of a medical professional; there’s no need for such a grand gesture.”
After the excitement and gratitude, the boy’s father recalled the Western clinic across the street and the unscrupulous doctor inside who almost killed his son.
“That clinic across the street employs a quack who uses fake medicine to harm people. Who’s willing to join me in smashing that shameless clinic?” The boy’s father rallied.
Many men among the onlookers responded fervently.
Led by the boy’s father, the group rushed out of the clinic and into the clinic across the street.
In today’s society, the doctor-patient relationship is already tense. Plus, everyone falls ill at some point, so witnessing the plight of the boy’s family resonated with others. People wouldn’t tolerate dishonest doctors making money at the expense of patients.
In no time, amidst the shocked cries of doctors and nurses inside the Western clinic, the newly opened facility was thoroughly demolished.
Dr. Richardson, realizing the situation was irreparable, attempted to escape but was caught by the enraged crowd. He then endured a severe beating.
Inside the unnamed traditional Chinese medicine clinic, Sarah handed Leo a cup of tea.
After Leo gulped down the tea, he checked the boy’s pulse again. Turning to the boy’s mother and grandparents, he said, “The child is fine now. If you’re still worried, you can take him to a major hospital for a comprehensive checkup.”
The boy’s grandfather quickly waved his hand, saying, “Dr. Bloomer, we trust you. You saved my grandson. In the future, our family will come to you for treatment. We won’t go to those unscrupulous clinics again.”
Leo asked Chasel to fetch paper and pen, then wrote a prescription for the boy’s mother. “To prevent any aftereffects, I’ll write a prescription. Get the medicine according to the instructions and give it to the child for three consecutive days.”
The boy’s mother gratefully received the prescription.
When the boy’s family left, the clinic across the street had been smashed beyond recognition. Compared to its pristine state during the grand opening, it was now in shambles.
With such a significant incident, the police couldn’t ignore it. Dr. Richardson and others were taken to the police station.
As for what happened afterward, it was no longer Leo’s concern. In any case, after this incident, the clinic across the street never reopened.
The next morning, as agreed, Eden and his assistant Yanis drove to the Cloud Dream Mountain villa area to pick up Leo and Sophia. Together, they headed to Maple Coast for their wedding photoshoot.
Maple Coast was on a small island along the coast, reachable by plane from Langstel in a little over an hour.
At precisely nine o’clock, the four boarded the plane.
After the plane had been flying for more than ten minutes, Eden smiled at Leo and Sophia, saying, “Mr. Bloomer, Miss Henley, once we reach our destination at Maple Coast, we’ll stay at the finest hotel first. After that, I’ll take you to familiarize yourselves with the surroundings.”
Leo and Sophia nodded simultaneously. After all, Eden was a professional, and they trusted him to handle everything.
Just then, the plane suddenly experienced severe turbulence, eliciting gasps from some passengers. Subsequently, the voice of a flight attendant came over the intercom, “Ladies and gentlemen, the captain has fallen ill, and the plane will make an emergency landing. Please pull down your oxygen masks and retrieve life jackets.”
The flight attendant’s announcement caused panic among the passengers. Some of the more timid female passengers couldn’t help but cry out.
“What the hell? The captain suddenly falls ill. What kind of nonsense is this?” A man sitting behind Leo and Sophia angrily exclaimed. “Stewardess, isn’t there a co-pilot? Get him to operate the plane!”
Next to the man was a heavily made-up woman. She gripped her husband’s arm tightly, her face tense. “Honey, how can something like this happen!? I told you we should have taken a helicopter. Now, if the plane crashes, we’ll have to take wedding photos in the afterlife!”
A flight attendant hurried over, trying to calm the man, “Sir, madam, please don’t be afraid. The plane won’t crash; we will land safely.”
The man scrutinized the curvaceous flight attendant and barked, “Quit the nonsense. Hurry up and find a solution!”
“Do you know who my husband is? I’m telling you the truth; if anything happens to him and me, all of you will pay for it!” The woman pointed at the flight attendant, shouting angrily.
The flight attendant maintained her smile. “Sir, madam, making a fuss won’t help. The plane may land at any moment. Please put on your oxygen masks and cooperate with our procedures.”
The flight attendant’s smile infuriated the woman, who unbuckled her seatbelt, stood up, and then slapped the beautiful face.
Seeing the innocent flight attendant about to be hit, in the next moment, a hand firmly grabbed the woman’s wrist.
“Now that the plane is in an emergency situation, you better behave yourselves, or I won’t hesitate to throw you off the plane!” Leo pushed the woman back into her seat.
“Honey, this guy dared to hit me!” The woman looked at her husband, plaintively.
The man suddenly stood up from his seat and angrily shouted, “You bastard, how dare you touch my woman! I’m going to kill you!”
With one swift motion, Leo avoided the man’s punch and retaliated with a slap, sending the man sprawling in the aisle between the seats.
Teeth mixed with blood, flowed from the man’s mouth onto the floor.
The man staggered to his feet, touched his mouth, and then rushed toward Leo in a frenzy, “Damn it, I’m going to kill you!”
Leo kicked, sending the man flying, and he didn’t get up again.
Witnessing this, the woman screamed and staggered toward the man.
Surrounding passengers began to comment on the scene.
“Well done!”
“No, this young man has got into big trouble. Do you know who that man is?”
“Who is he?”
“If I’m not mistaken, he should be Kerr Steele, the eldest son of the real estate tycoon, Mr. Steele.”
Hearing it was Kerr Steele, many passengers’ faces changed, expressing concern for Leo.
