The leader of the Eastern Fire Guardians waved his left hand and ordered, “Arrest all these people who were involved in fighting!”
“Yes!” The Eastern Fire Guardians responded in unison and proceeded to apprehend Gavin, Lance Eliot, and others.
Whether it was the Ghost Carving Sect or the Flying Dragon Gang, they all obediently surrendered, without any resistance.
These Eastern Fire Guardians, affiliated with the East family, made Ghost Carving Sect and Flying Dragon Gang prisoners. Neither of them dared to provoke the East family, a martial arts family with a millennium of heritage.
In the public eye, members of the Ghost Carving Sect and Flying Dragon Gang were escorted away by the Eastern Fire Guardians.
“The East family is really something. The Ghost Carving Sect and Flying Dragon Gang didn’t even dare to make a peep.”
“Give them a hundred times the courage, and they still wouldn’t dare to openly defy the East family.”
“It looks like we’ll have to be careful in the East family’s territory in the future, or we’ll definitely face consequences.”
After some discussion among the onlookers, they dispersed.
Curious about the fate of Ghost Carving Sect and Flying Dragon Gang after being taken by the Eastern Fire Guardians, Leo asked Violet beside him, “Violet, where will those guys be taken by the Eastern Fire Guardians?”
“If nothing goes wrong, they should be taken to the punishment room for martial artists in East Town. The East family has long-standing rules that anyone engaged in martial arts battles in East Town will face a one-month confinement and a fine of three thousand Essence-Building Pills,” Violet replied.
Though they would face punishment, for the Flying Dragon Gang, it might not be a bad thing. Without the intervention of the Eastern Fire Guardians, Lance Eliot might have met his end there.
The three didn’t linger there. After packing their belongings at the inn, they prepared to leave East Town.
The matter of Falling Sunset Mountain had come to an end. Upon returning, Leo’s plan was to use the Snowspirit Flower to refine the Snowspirit Pill, thoroughly eliminating the evil flame, and then strive to advance to the Spirit Master realm.
Leo first bought some auxiliary herbs for refining the Snowspirit Pill in the small town. He then retrieved the stored seeds and rented a carriage to take Jennifer and Violet down the mountain.
At noon, the trio arrived at the inn at the foot of the mountain. After having lunch, they went to the inn’s parking lot to get their carriage.
Violet eagerly jumped into the car, exclaiming, “Yay! Finally, we can leave Falling Sunset Mountain and explore the outside world!”
Jennifer couldn’t help but laugh. “Violet, you’ve never left Falling Sunset Mountain before, have you?”
“Not really. I sneak out every year and travel around outside, but I get caught by my family every time,” Violet said, a bit disgruntled about the matter.
In the evening, Leo drove back to the Seven Stars Sword Sect.
Now that Leo was a married man, he couldn’t bring a young girl home. So, he let Violet temporarily stay at the Seven Stars Sword Sect, promising to take her to the city whenever he had time, covering all expenses.
Although Violet was a bit reluctant, she reluctantly agreed to avoid putting Leo in a difficult situation.
As for the Thunderwing Beast’s egg and the seeds of the spirit herbs, Leo left them at the Seven Stars Sword Sect, taking only the Fragrance-Sensing Divine Jade that would be beneficial for cultivation.
After dinner, as they were about to leave, Leo gave Jennifer three hundred Vitality Pills. He instructed her to have the disciples at Seven Stars Sword Sect take them to enhance their cultivation.
Leo was well aware that after Darcy Bush and Brian Bush of Fiery Blaze Sect escaped, retaliation was inevitable. A battle between Fiery Blaze Sect and Seven Stars Sword Sect was just a matter of time.
Leo told Jennifer that if there were any unusual activities from Fiery Blaze Sect, she must inform him immediately.
By the time Leo returned to his residence in the Cloud Dream Mountain villa area, it was already past ten at night.
Entering the living room, he found the lights on but no one present. After looking around, he saw Nora knitting a sweater in one of the guest rooms. She informed Leo that Jessica and Martin hadn’t returned from their visit, but Sophia had returned and should be in her bedroom upstairs.
After a brief chat with Nora, Leo headed upstairs.
Gently pushing open the bedroom door, Leo saw Sophia sitting on the bedroom’s reclining sofa, reading a book.
Sophia raised her head at the sound and, upon seeing Leo, a sweet smile appeared on her face. “Dr. Bloomer, you’re back?”
Leo had already informed Sophia about his return via Facebook, so she wasn’t surprised.
Leo smiled and opened his arms.
“What are you doing?” Sophia asked, well aware of the situation.
“As the saying goes, ‘a day without seeing each other feels like three autumns.’ We’ve missed each other for so many autumns; don’t you want to give me a hug?” Leo teased.
Sophia closed her book and stood up from the sofa. “You’re full of yourself.”
“I know,” Leo replied self-indulgently.
“Then don’t think too highly of yourself,” Sophia playfully added.
It seemed he had to take matters into his own hands. Leo approached, lifting Sophia like a princess around her waist. Amidst her surprised exclamations, he placed her on the bed.
Just as Leo was about to lean in for a kiss on those beautiful red lips, Sophia pushed his chest with her hand. “Disgusting, you have a weird smell. Go take a shower. We have a family meeting in Huntstone City tomorrow morning.”
Leo checked the date and asked, puzzled, “Isn’t the family meeting scheduled for next week?”
“I don’t know. Grandma notified me this morning,” Sophia replied.
“Alright, I’ll take a shower first, and then we can savor the taste of lipstick,” Leo said with a mischievous expression, getting up and heading into the bathroom.
The next day, in Huntstone City, at the Henley family mansion, in the meeting room.
“According to the schedule, wasn’t the family meeting supposed to be next week? Why is it suddenly called today?”
“I don’t know. Grandma notified us at the last minute. I guess it must be about my company’s shares.”
“Probably. Didn’t Leo swear he’d use 20% of the assets of the group to borrow a billion? I wonder if he succeeded.”
“What a joke. If Leo can borrow a billion, pigs will fly alongside the sun.”
The meeting time hadn’t arrived yet, but the Henley family members were already enthusiastically discussing.
Leo and Sophia, amid the criticisms of others, walked into the meeting room, calmly took their seats, and, as usual, there was no designated seat for Leo at the meeting table. He could only sit in a cold corner.
Except for the old Mrs. Henley-Teresa, Bruno was the only one missing.
It’s worth noting that when it came to family meetings, Bruno had always been very active. Not to mention being the first to arrive every time, he wouldn’t come after Leo and Sophia.
