Master Jennifer had no interest in this conceited guy, merely nodding slightly as acknowledgment.
“Mr. Bloomer, didn’t expect to find you here,” Henry feigned surprise, then his gaze landed on Violet, his eyes brightening. “What a pretty little girl.”
Like Leo and Master Jennifer, Henry received only nods from them. They didn’t feel like engaging in further conversation.
Once mounted, the trio left the area directly.
Standing next to Arctic Wolf, Elliot took a deep sniff, his gaze flickering. “Master Henry, I smell a peculiar scent of alcohol from these three. It should be the aroma of honey wine.”
“I smell it too. It seems they’ve got the honey wine. Elliot, we don’t need to go to that cave. Just follow them. When they clash with the Fiery Blaze Sect people, we can take advantage!” Henry’s face showed a cunning expression.
The Lynd family excelled at gathering various information. Since Leo and Master Jennifer parted ways at the restaurant, Henry secretly sent people to investigate their backgrounds.
He now not only knew that Master Jennifer was the head of the Seven Stars Sword Sect but also that Leo was the honorary head. Henry also discovered that Leo had taken a lot of good things from the young master of the Fiery Blaze Sect.
On their way here, Henry’s group coincidentally encountered the returning members of the Fiery Blaze Sect. So, he paid extra attention, secretly tailing them and learning about the Fiery Blaze Sect’s plan to ambush Leo’s group.
Although Henry had a favorable impression of Master Jennifer, he wouldn’t foolishly inform her about this matter.
Why not let an unexpected hero intervene and save her? Isn’t that exciting?
On a route they must pass to return to East Town, Darcy Bush, Brian, and the elders from the Fiery Blaze Sect, White and Black, were prepared to ambush.
Confused, Elder White asked, “Young master, why aren’t we searching for the honey wine in those caves?”
Brian explained, “Because Leo has already obtained the honey wine.”
“How do you know?” Elder White inquired again.
“I don’t know if you noticed the gourds hanging from their waists. Before they entered the cave, I could determine from the sway of the gourd that it was empty. But after they came out of the rightmost cave, it was clear that something was inside. Undoubtedly, it’s the honey wine!” Brian explained his deduction.
“Young master your insight is admirable,” Elder Black praised.
Brian’s eyes gleamed, and he continued, “Even if they didn’t get the honey wine, we must avenge the stolen spirit herbs, medicine, and Essence-Building Pills. We can’t let this slide. Besides, we’ll have a showdown with the Seven Stars Sword Sect sooner or later. We’re not within East Town now, and if we can kill Master Jennifer and Leo, we can easily take over the Seven Stars Sword Sect after the auction ends.”
Both elders nodded in agreement. The young master’s plan was indeed well-thought-out. As long as they could kill Master Jennifer and Leo, Fiery Blaze Sect’s ambition to absorb the Seven Stars Sword Sect would be a piece of cake.
“Listen, there’s the sound of hooves approaching,” Brian’s gaze sharpened as he alerted them.
The four hidden individuals in the trees held their breath, ready to launch a surprise attack on Leo’s group.
As Leo’s group rode past the trees, three flying swords silently shot towards them.
Being cultivators, Leo had a natural perception of danger. He shouted, “Danger! Dismount!”
Master Jennifer’s reaction was swift, almost simultaneous with Leo’s shout. She grabbed Violet and flipped off the horse.
As they dismounted, three flying swords embedded themselves into the backs of two horses. The horses hadn’t even neighed before collapsing to the ground.
Before Brian and his group could make another move, Leo coldly surveyed them. “Do you guys want to die?”
Brian’s gaze circled the gourds at their waists before shifting to Leo. He sneered, “Hand over the honey wine you’ve got, and return what you stole from me. I’ll make your deaths a bit less painful.”
Leo unstrapped a gourd from his waist, swaying it mockingly. “You want some wine?”
As Leo swayed the gourd, Brian distinctly heard the sound of liquid inside. His eyes flickered, and he said, “I knew it; you got the honey wine.”
Leo had two gourds at his waist, Master Jennifer had two, and Violet had one. In total, Leo’s group now had five gourds filled with honey wine.
Brian estimated that if he could obtain all of them, it would help his father break through to the Martial General realm. That way, the Fiery Blaze Sect could ascend to the ranks of the second-tier martial sects.
Leo tossed a gourd directly towards Brian.
Seeing the tossed gourd, Brian’s face lit up, and he reached out to catch it.
Simultaneously with the throw, Leo acted. His body turned into a blur, lunging directly at Brian.
“Brian, watch out!” Darcy Bush had been keeping a close eye on Leo and immediately shouted a warning.
Brian’s thoughts were focused on the gourd, and he was unprepared for Leo’s attack. By the time he reacted to Darcy Bush’s warning, it was too late.
Purple Radiance was already thrust into Brian’s chest by Leo.
Brian widened his eyes, feeling blood gushing from his chest. Leo pulled out the dagger, then kicked Brian’s body, sending him flying.
Immediately after, Leo extended his left hand, perfectly catching the falling wine gourd.
Seeing his son severely injured, Darcy Bush’s fury ignited. “Bastard, I’ll kill you!”
Darcy Bush mobilized his inner strength, condensing it in both hands. A layer of black aura appeared on his hands.
Next, Darcy Bush directly launched a palm strike at Leo from a distance. “Black Fire Palm!”
Leo flipped his right hand, and a talisman appeared.
The appearance of the talisman surprised Darcy Bush and the two elders from the Fiery Blaze Sect. They never expected Leo to possess a talisman that existed only in the secret realm.
After deploying the talisman, a bolt of lightning emerged, directly slamming into Darcy Bush’s Black Fire Palm.
The palm force, originally shaped like a hand, dissipated into black smoke under the power of the lightning. The lightning slightly dimmed but continued to strike at Darcy Bush.
“Fiery Shield!” Darcy Bush didn’t dare to confront the lightning head-on. He erupted his inner strength, forming it into a round shield of fiery red.
The lightning mercilessly struck the fiery red shield.
“Boom!”
After a loud explosion, the fiery red shield shattered and dissipated, and the lightning vanished.
