Chapter 533: Leaving Something Behind

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

In Brian’s position, he really didn’t want to speak with a lower-level disciple from the Seven Stars Sword Sect. If it weren’t for Master Jennifer’s presence, he wouldn’t have said a word to Leo and would have just ordered his subordinates to eliminate Leo.
“I say, you’re not allowed to leave unless you hand over everything you have,” Leo said, a mocking expression on his face, his gaze fixed on a backpack carried on the shoulder of a man next to Brian. The bag appeared quite bulging, indicating it likely held valuable items.
Perhaps influenced by the harpoon-wielding man, Leo suddenly realized that robbing uninvited guests could be an interesting endeavor.
Brian, even if he wasn’t the smartest, understood what Leo was implying. He scoffed, “What if I refuse?”
“If you refuse, then none of you will leave!” Leo declared, drawing the Blue Phantom Sword and launching its blade toward Brian.
Brian was infuriated and retorted, “A mere disciple of the Seven Stars Sword Sect dares to speak such words. Are you trying to make a fool out of me? Master Jennifer, is this how you usually instruct your disciples?”
The elderly man snorted and said, “Master Jennifer, if you don’t want to discipline this ignorant disciple of yours, I don’t mind helping you with that!”
Leo sneered, raised his left hand, and flicked his fingers, sending a sharp blade of energy towards the elderly man.
The elderly man didn’t expect Leo to attack him first and his face slightly changed. He promptly raised his right hand and released a surge of powerful internal energy, dispersing the energy blade.
Leo’s energy blade attack was just a diversion. While the elderly man was defending against it, Leo’s figure flashed, and the Blue Phantom Sword thrust toward him.
“You overestimate yourself!” The elderly man’s eyes turned cold, and amidst the surge of internal energy, two black rings shot out from his sleeve.
After two crisp metallic sounds, Leo’s Blue Phantom Sword was deflected by the black rings.
The elderly man’s attack didn’t stop there. As he moved, his hands inserted into the black rings that were returning after being repelled. The black rings transformed into multiple black ring-like armguards, wrapping around his withered arms, and he aimed them directly at Leo.
Leo chose to defend by attacking, and he struck the elderly man’s right arm.
A crisp metallic sound rang out, followed by a series of sparks. The Blue Phantom Sword, which could cut through iron like mud, failed to sever the black rings on the elderly man’s forearm.
In the blink of an eye, the elderly man’s figure changed, and with a shout, he released the black rings on his left and right forearms.
“Black Rings of Death, go!” he shouted.
Four black rings shot out from the elderly man’s left and right forearms.
In a ‘capture the ringleader first’ strategy, Leo had no intention of engaging with the old man. As he evaded the four black rings, his figure moved like a ghost, appearing in front of Brian like a lightning bolt. He then thrust his sword.
Brian’s face turned pale. He, who had been a mere spectator, never expected Leo to attack him and leave the elderly black-clad man behind.
Despite being unprepared, Brian’s reaction was quick. He unleashed the full extent of his advanced martial artist’s power, and his figure rapidly retreated.
Leo didn’t intend to strike Brian with the sword, and as he retreated, he used a minor spell. Brian, who was retreating in haste, suddenly felt an extreme cold sensation beneath his feet, causing his movements to freeze momentarily.
Now, Brian was genuinely terrified. He cursed loudly, stomped his feet hard, and then leaped into the air. However, when he landed, a chilling sensation wrapped around his neck, and he dared not move an inch.
Leo’s Blue Phantom Sword was less than three millimeters away from Brian’s carotid artery.
Seeing Brian being held hostage, the elderly black-clad man suddenly widened his eyes and shouted, “You scoundrel, release the young master!”
Seeing the elderly man charging towards him, Leo’s right hand moved slightly.
The Blue Phantom Sword cut the skin on Brian’s neck, and a drop of blood trickled down.
With just a little more pressure from Leo, Brian would undoubtedly be dead.
“Stop it!” The elderly man dared not continue his advance and halted, his face showing fear.
In contrast, Brian, despite the nervousness and fear on his face, maintained a level of composure expected of someone in his position.
“Kid, I misjudged you earlier. You’re not an ordinary disciple of the Seven Stars Sword Sect,” Brian said coldly.
It was essential to note that the elderly black-clad man was already a mid-tier grand martial master, and for Leo to subdue Brian while he was dealing with the elderly man, Leo’s strength was at least that of an intermediate-tier grand martial master!
Master Jennifer had reached the level of a grand martial master. When had the Seven Stars Sword Sect produced another one?
A sudden realization appeared on Brian’s face, and he continued, “You are Leo Bloomer, the honorary head of the Seven Stars Sword Sect!”
“It seems you are well-informed. Yes, I am Leo Bloomer,” Leo replied with a smile.
Hearing that Leo was the honorary head of the Seven Stars Sword Sect, the expression on the elderly man’s face fluctuated.
Now that Brian was held hostage, the elderly man couldn’t afford to provoke a conflict and could only search for an opening with Master Jennifer. “Master Jennifer, the honorary head of the Seven Stars Sword Sect is holding our Fiery Blaze Sect’s young master hostage. What is the meaning of this? Do you want to go to war with our Fiery Blaze Sect?”
Master Jennifer looked at the elderly man coldly without saying a word.
Since Leo wanted to play, he could play for a while. Besides, Master Jennifer didn’t hold the Fiery Blaze Sect members in high regard.
Leo looked at the elderly man impatiently and said, “Old man, you talk too much. Right now, you only have two choices: either surrender the backpack, or prepare for your young master’s death. It’s up to you!”
Seeing that Master Jennifer wasn’t moved by his threat, the elderly man was infuriated. “You, the Seven Stars Sword Sect, are going too far. Our Fiery Blaze Sect’s master is in East Town. If you don’t release the young sect master, our Fiery Blaze Sect will surely crush your Seven Stars Sword Sect!”
The elderly man was unwilling to hand over the contents of the backpack and could only delay as much as possible, hoping to find an opportunity for a counterattack.
Leo wasn’t buying into this act and snorted, “It seems you’ve made your choice. In that case, prepare to collect the corpse of your young sect master yourself. Make your decision!”
Leo pretended to make a motion as if to slit Brian’s throat with a sword.
“Stop!” The elderly man quickly said. He didn’t doubt that Leo was willing to go through with it.
“Young master…” The elderly man could only look towards Brian with an inquiring expression.
Brian’s expression was extremely grim, and he sighed, “Give him the backpack.”
Brian knew that the current situation was highly unfavorable for him. The Seven Stars Sword Sect had inexplicably grown bold and dared to face off with the Fiery Blaze Sect. For now, he had to swallow his pride and wait until he reunited with his father and the others to deal with this situation.
The elderly man glared at Leo with resentment, then turned to his disciple who was carrying the backpack and said, “Give him the backpack.”
The disciple in black clothing removed the backpack and handed it to Leo.
Leo motioned for him to place it on the ground.
