Chapter 505: Can’t Keep You

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

Harry found himself in an awkward situation. He didn’t know how to handle the current circumstances. Leo had come to his clinic upon Harry’s invitation, and now this situation had arisen, making Harry feel uneasy.
Leo, on the other hand, remained calm. Since he wasn’t welcomed here, he decided to leave.
Seeing Leo rise from the couch, Harry hurriedly stood up and said, “Dr. Bloomer, let me walk you out.”
Leo waved his hand and replied, “Mr. Toby, there’s no need. You go about your own business; I’ll find my own way out.”
As Leo headed for the suite’s front door, Harry felt uncomfortable with the situation. Others didn’t seem to mind Leo’s departure. “Dr. Burns, when can you start treating my sister? Also, is there anything you need to prepare?”
Baldwin was now completely focused on Ryan, asking politely.
“To cure your sister’s condition, I do need some preparations,” Ryan said and quickly jotted down a list on a piece of paper, handing it to Baldwin. “Mr. Meredith, I’ll need these items.”
Baldwin took the list and passed it to the housekeeper, instructing him, “Procure all the items listed here as quickly as possible.”
“Of course, young master,” the housekeeper replied, not wasting any time, and left to make the necessary arrangements.
Meanwhile, Harry felt unhappy. If he didn’t do something, Thomas would likely become Baldwin’s business partner. After thinking for a moment, he addressed Baldwin. “Mr. Meredith, although Dr. Burns is undoubtedly skilled, Dr. Bloomer also made a valid point earlier. We’re businessmen, and we always need to consider contingencies. It might be a good idea to keep Dr. Bloomer here just in case.”
With a disdainful expression, Thomas responded, “We don’t need anyone else with Dr. Burns around.”
Harry’s words, however, reminded Baldwin that being prepared was essential. Having a backup plan was always a wise move. “Mr. Toby has a point. Although I personally don’t see much use in keeping that fellow Leo around, since it’s Mr. Toby’s suggestion…”
Turning towards the door, Baldwin called out, and a man promptly entered.
Baldwin addressed him, “Go and bring back the person who just left.”
“Yes, Mr. Meredith!” The bodyguard immediately left to carry out his orders.
Regarding his sister’s treatment, Baldwin couldn’t afford to be careless. While he didn’t trust Leo, he realized that having an additional medical professional on hand, as Harry suggested, was a prudent approach.
Harry breathed a sigh of relief. If Leo returned, he might have a chance to turn the situation around.
Leo reached the ground floor via the elevator. As he stepped out of the elevator, a man in a black suit approached him.
“Are you Mr. Bloomer?” the man in the suit asked.
Leo nodded and replied, “That’s me.”
“Mr. Bloomer, our boss would like you to come back now,” the man in the suit continued.
Leo was taken aback for a moment and then shook his head, saying, “Your boss wanted me to leave, and I’ve already left. Now he wants me to come back? Sorry, I’ve gone too far to turn back now.”
Leo bypassed the man in the suit and headed straight for the hotel’s main entrance.
The man in the suit quickly rushed in front of Leo and spoke with a threatening tone, “Mr. Bloomer, I’d advise you to be sensible in this place. If our boss doesn’t want you to leave, you won’t walk out of this hotel today.”
As the man in the suit finished speaking, several others in black suits immediately surrounded Leo, their expressions cold as they glared at him.
“Mr. Bloomer, it’s better if you come back upstairs with me. We don’t want to resort to force,” the man in the suit added.
Leo, looking down on these men, sneered, “I’ll give you three seconds to disappear from my sight, or you’ll regret it.”
Leo’s words made the men in suits exchange glances, and they couldn’t help but burst into laughter, as if they had heard a hilarious joke.
After all, they were all retired special forces, and they could each handle ten guys like Leo, who seemed to have no strength at all. Therefore, aside from their laughter, they didn’t take Leo’s words seriously.
On the top floor, in the presidential suite, since the housekeeper had left to buy the items Ryan needed, Baldwin had a waiter bring in some high-quality tea for everyone.
Just as Baldwin was about to take a sip of his tea, the room’s door was pushed open, and one of the men in suits who had been standing guard outside entered.
This man in a suit was named Levi Newton, Baldwin’s top bodyguard, and someone Baldwin trusted the most.
Seeing Levi walk in with a serious expression, Baldwin put down his teacup and asked, frowning, “What’s wrong?”
“Mr. Meredith, the man named Leo got away from the men downstairs,” Levi said somewhat hesitantly.
Baldwin was taken aback by this news and immediately asked, “With so many men downstairs, how did he manage to escape?”
“No,” Levi’s expression became even grimmer, “he left through the main entrance in the lobby on the first floor, and he took down all of my men.”
“What!?” Baldwin was astonished and stood up from the couch, unable to believe what he was hearing.
Baldwin was well aware of the skills of the bodyguards he had brought with him to the first-floor lobby. To think that not only had they failed to stop him, but they had also all been defeated was incredibly perplexing.
This situation sounded extremely unusual.
“Are your men hesitant because I invited him back, and they’re worried about that, so they didn’t use force?” Baldwin asked again.
Levi shook his head and replied, “I’ve been to the first-floor lobby to check. My men did their best, but they were still beaten. I even reviewed the security footage, and it took less than thirty seconds.”
Baldwin took a deep breath, and his mouth hung open in amazement.
The ability to defeat everyone in the lobby within thirty seconds could only be described as terrifying in terms of skill and prowess.
At this point, in Baldwin’s eyes, regardless of Leo’s medical skills, his physical abilities were far from ordinary.
“Hurry, send someone to investigate this Leo. I need to know all of his background information,” Baldwin ordered in a solemn tone.
“Of course!” Levi quickly acknowledged and then left the room.
“Mr. Toby, the young traditional Chinese medicine practitioner you brought here is certainly not an ordinary person,” Baldwin remarked, looking at Harry with a hint of amusement.
