Chapter 485: Flying into a Rage

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

“Leo, come here,” Sophia’s voice came from Nora’s room.
Leo rushed into the room, only to find it clean and devoid of Nora’s belongings and bedding. It didn’t take much for Leo to figure out what had happened.
Exiting the room, Leo’s icy gaze swept over the people in the living room, and he shouted, “What did you do to Nora?”
Sophia joined him, approaching Jessica and questioning, “Mom, Nora has been diligent and hardworking while she’s been with us. How could you bring yourself to let her go?”
Confronted by her daughter, Jessica couldn’t maintain her false bravado and shouted sternly, “Yes, I let Nora go. She’s been slow and careless in her work, and I didn’t like it, so I fired her.”
Leo took a few steps forward, staring at Jessica with a gaze that seemed ready to kill and spoke in a measured tone, “Jessica, who gave you the authority to fire Nora?”
Leo’s fierce look startled Jessica, causing her to step back, almost stumbling to the ground. She couldn’t utter a word of protest.
Seeing this scene, Paige felt triumphant, satisfied that she had successfully implicated Jessica.
Sophia stamped her foot in anger, saying, “Mom, how could you do this? It’s just too much!”
Leo’s intense gaze shifted to Paige and Ethan, and he demanded, “There are signs of a bend in the broom. Who hit Nora?”
Although Paige couldn’t meet Leo’s gaze directly, she mustered the courage to say, “Leo, you’re a useless waste of space. She’s just a lowly maid, and you dare to suspect us!”
Ethan, who had been beaten by Leo, naturally didn’t dare to admit his involvement and stiffly declared, “Leo, that maid has nothing to do with us!”
Leo sneered, “Since you won’t admit it, Dr. Davy’t blame me for checking the surveillance. When the time comes, you’ll pay for what you have Dr. Davye!”
Leo’s words sent a shiver through Paige and Ethan, nearly making them sit down in fear.
After the initial shock, they quickly looked up and, indeed, noticed a small camera mounted on the wall in an inconspicuous corner of the living room.
Jessica also saw the camera, becoming increasingly anxious.
When had this useless waste installed a camera in the living room? How did she not know about it?
Leo had bought this kind of portable wireless home security camera from an online store, which could be linked to a mobile phone.
After Nora was beaten, Leo became more cautious and discreetly installed it.
The purpose of Leo’s actions was to prevent Jessica from mistreating Nora again.
Today, it came in handy.
He took out his phone, opened the camera app, and quickly learned the whole truth of the matter.
Ethan felt like a dead man walking. He wanted to run, but where could he escape to?
Leo put down his phone, and a burst of chilling murderous intent erupted. He took one step and, right in front of Ethan, delivered a punch to his face.
“Bang!”
After a muffled sound, it seemed like Ethan’s nose had been broken, as blood immediately began to flow from both nostrils.
Leo firmly grabbed Ethan by the collar, lifted him from the couch, and casually tossed him aside.
Ethan was like a kite with its strings cut, sent flying before crashing hard into the wall. He didn’t even have a chance to let out a cry before he passed out.
Seeing her son being flung by Leo like a ragdoll, Paige was petrified with fear. She felt Leo’s overpowering aura and immediately knelt before him, begging, “Leo, we know we were wrong. Please spare us, and we promise we won’t do it again.”
Alex was curled up on the couch, shivering. He didn’t dare to help his wife or check on his son. Leo, their son-in-law, was utterly terrifying at this moment.
The substantial killing intent hanging in the air didn’t leave any doubt in Alex’s mind; Leo was ready to kill.
“Paige, I warned you before, but you ignored my words. If anything happens to Nora, you three will pay!”
Leo left them with this threat and walked out of the villa’s living room. He needed to find Nora.
Sophia, still seething, shot a furious glare at Paige and the others before following Leo out of the house.
Once Leo had left, Paige and Alex rushed over to Ethan.
“Ethan, what’s wrong? Wake up, Dr. Davy’t scare your mom,” Paige said, nearly in tears. Only when she saw Ethan gradually regain consciousness did she breathe a sigh of relief.
Jessica had long collapsed on the couch, muttering to herself, “This damned waste of space is a demon.”
Turning to look at Alex’s family’s miserable state, Jessica sighed, “Alex, Paige, Leo has completely turned into a mad dog, ready to bite at any moment. I suggest you find a hotel outside and lay low for a while. Avoid this mess.”
Considering that Leo would likely get violent when he brought Nora back, Alex’s family reluctantly agreed to Jessica’s suggestion.
After leaving the villa, Leo tried calling Nora, but her phone was unreachable. Leo and Sophia then went to Nora’s former residence in a local village. However, her old house had new occupants.
Unable to find Nora and worried about the injustice she might have suffered, Leo feared she might do something foolish.
“Leo, Dr. Davy’t worry too much. Nora has a daughter, and she wouldn’t do anything reckless,” Sophia comforted him.
Leo chuckled bitterly, saying, “Sophia, I embarrassed you back at the house again. I couldn’t control my anger.”
“No, you did the right thing. Uncle and his family needed to be taught a lesson; otherwise, they’d continue taking advantage of the situation,” Sophia replied without any blame in her voice.
Sophia’s understanding brought relief to Leo.
After some thought, Leo dialed Scar’s number, asking him to arrange a search for Nora. Since Leo didn’t have a photo of Nora, he described her appearance verbally.
Scar readily agreed, promising to deploy all his men to locate her and inform Leo as soon as they found her.
Afterward, Leo and Sophia drove around searching for a while but came up empty-handed. They had no choice but to return home and await word from Scar.
Upon their return, Alex’s family was nowhere to be found. Martin informed them that they had taken Ethan to the hospital for a checkup and treatment, and they wouldn’t be returning to stay in the near future.
Leo and Sophia had no intention of concerning themselves with that peculiar family.
