The glass of juice the waitress brought did nothing to impress Leo. With his skills, he couldn’t be so easily fooled.
The reason he played along with their fainting act was that Leo wanted to see what kind of drama they were trying to stage.
After being abducted by those special forces soldiers, Leo had feigned sleep the entire time. Once they finished reporting to their hidden puppet masters, Leo acted swiftly.
He incapacitated all four special forces soldiers, then raced back to the hotel, instructing Sophia to rest in her room.
By now, Sophia had already settled into Leo’s room, though she hadn’t fallen asleep.
“Why did you ask me to sleep in your room, and what were you doing just now? I thought I heard some screams,” Sophia inquired with curiosity.
Leo offered a casual explanation, “The lock on your door was broken, and the sound insulation is poor. It’s better for you to stay on my side.”
“What about those screams?” Sophia remained suspicious.
Leo shrugged, “I guess someone in another room was watching a horror movie. Anyway, it’s getting late. Let’s get some sleep.”
A week later, after dropping Sophia off at her workplace in the morning, Leo headed to the Wilde Jewelry Group.
He practiced with jade in the underground warehouse until noon, then finally left the warehouse.
Originally, Leo had intended to leave directly, but before his departure, Coral called to invite him to lunch, expressing her gratitude for saving her life.
Leo was in the Wilde Jewelry Group, so he couldn’t refuse, and he agreed.
However, after lunch, Coral unexpectedly dragged Leo shopping, using her cute charm to its full extent.
Imagine, a beautiful CEO using her cute charm. Who could resist?
Leo knew the horror of shopping with women but initially wanted to decline. In the end, he had to comply.
The destination was a shopping mall.
A beautiful woman could capture countless glances wherever she went.
Coral’s tall figure, flawless skin, lovely face, and unique presence garnered 100% attention as they walked.
“Miss Wilde, your head-turning factor is off the charts,” Leo commented, feeling a bit overwhelmed. It wasn’t just men; even many women couldn’t stop staring their way.
Coral’s lips curled slightly at Leo’s comment, “Outside the office, you don’t have to call me Miss Wilde. We’re of similar age, and we’re friends. You can just call me Coral.”
“Coral?” Leo scratched his head. “I’m not used to it.”
“It’s a must,” Coral asserted with her CEO authority.
Leo had no choice but to oblige.
Amid the various stares from onlookers, they entered a GUCCI store.
After more than an hour, Leo was carrying numerous shopping bags.
The torment of shopping was finally over. Leo felt relieved as he walked alongside Coral, heading back to where they had parked the car.
At that moment, Leo’s sharp senses suddenly picked up something. He looked up at a tall building in front of him.
“Bang!”
Just as Leo turned to look, a sharp gunshot echoed, shattering the somewhat noisy street.
“Watch out!”
Leo’s face changed, and he quickly shielded Coral by his side as they moved aside.
The bullets that came flying were incredibly penetrating, grazing Leo’s body. One of them shattered the cobblestone behind him.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Three more sharp gunshots rang out successively, and these bullets were exceptionally precise, all aiming for Leo.
“Ahh!”
“Someone’s shooting! There’s a shooter!”
“Run!”
Amid the bustling city streets, cries of alarm suddenly erupted, and the crowd frantically searched for cover.
“Diamond Shield, protect us!” Leo swiftly summoned a defensive Diamond Shield to shield himself and Coral.
Leo wore armor crafted from Purple Thunder Crocodile leather, capable of withstanding ten fatal attacks, meaning it could endure ten bullet shots. Coral, on the other hand, had no protection and had to rely on the talismans.
Three bullets struck the protective light barrier created by the Diamond Shield and fell harmlessly to the ground, producing crisp sounds.
Simultaneously, Leo activated his Spiritual Power, focusing it on his eyes as he gazed towards the tall building in front of him.
With the enhancement of his Spiritual Power, Leo could make out a slender figure fleeting across the rooftop of the high-rise building.
“Roughly a 1500-meter sniper shot, seems like a sharpshooter,” Leo’s expression turned grim.
Regular snipers had a range of only a few hundred meters, and the most skilled ones could hit targets from a kilometer away. Snipers capable of accurately shooting from 1500 meters were among the elite.
“Coral, you take the car and head back. I’ll go check it out,” Leo suggested with a hint of cold determination.
“Leo, maybe we should call the police?” Coral expressed her concern.
“No need. I can handle this. You go back,” Leo reassured her with a confident look.
Coral reluctantly nodded.
Leo activated a Gale Talisman, and in a matter of minutes, he arrived at the base of the high-rise building.
The thirty-story building was an office building. Leo took the elevator to the twentieth floor, then climbed the stairs to reach the rooftop.
The rooftop, due to its height, offered an excellent view. Leo quickly spotted the spot where the sniper had been.
There were traces of someone crawling in the northeast corner of the rooftop.
The sniper had obviously fled, leaving behind a quiet rooftop.
“Thought you could take a shot and run, not so easy!”
Leo snorted, his eyes flickering with determination. If he didn’t capture the sniper, there was a chance the person might take another shot at him from somewhere else. Even if Leo himself remained unharmed, the people around him could be in danger, so Leo was determined to track the sniper down.
He took out a talisman, folded it into a small paper crane, and formed a complex seal with his hands before tapping the paper crane.
The talisman paper crane flapped its wings as if coming to life.
“Crane Guided Path, track the person who left here, go!”
As if understanding Leo’s words, the talisman paper crane flapped its wings, took off from the ground, and circled twice over the spot where the sniper had crawled. Then, it flew towards a water tank on the rooftop.
Following the talisman paper crane, Leo reached the water tank and found a long climbing rope. One end of the rope was fastened to the rooftop, while the other extended all the way down to the ground.
It was clear that the sniper had used this rope to make a hasty escape while Leo was in pursuit.
The talisman paper crane paused for a moment in front of Leo and then followed the rope, flying straight down.
Leo grasped the rope, adjusted his posture, and swiftly descended.
After touching the ground, Leo followed the guidance of the talisman paper crane.
Over half an hour later, guided by the talisman paper crane, Leo arrived on a secluded, rarely-trodden path.
