“This place, the one called ‘Wind, Flowers, Snow, Moon,’ is actually a private club. Karen goes there too, and she even managed to get a ticket to Marico Kingsley’s concert,” Sophia said contentedly from the passenger’s seat.
Leo knew that both Sophia and Karen were fans of Marico Kingsley.
Seeing that Leo didn’t seem very interested, Sophia added, “Leo, do you find this fan meeting boring? If you don’t want to attend, you can drop me off, and Karen can bring me back after the event.”
Leo smiled and said, “It’s not boring. I came today with a mission.”
Sophia asked curiously, “What mission?”
“The mission of protecting you!” Leo winked at her.
Sophia playfully blew him a kiss.
In no time, they arrived at the parking lot.
As they were about to enter, a security guard from the guardhouse stepped out and asked, “Stop, what are you here for?”
Leo halted the car, rolled down the window, and looked at the chubby security guard outside. He replied, “We’re here to park our car.”
“Parking?” The chubby security guard gave Leo a disdainful look and waved his hand impatiently. “This is a high-end private club. Go park somewhere else!”
“Is this Wind, Flowers, Snow, Moon Building?” Leo inquired.
The haughty security guard coldly snorted and replied, “Yes, it is.”
“In that case, we’re at the right place. We’re here to attend a fan meeting,” Leo said.
The chubby security guard turned his nose up, showing disdain for Leo and Sophie. “You drive an old Audi and still have the nerve to say you’re here for a fan meeting organized by Mr. Winifred? I knew people like you would say something like this. You just want to sneak in to get closer to Mr. Winifred. I’ll tell you this, without an invitation, you won’t be allowed to enter this parking lot!”
“This fan meeting was organized by Brook Winifred through a Facebook group, and they didn’t send out any formal invitations,” Sophia explained.
The security guard remained obstinate, replying, “I knew you’d say that. People like you just want to sneak into the event to get close to and meet Mr. Winifred. I’m telling you, without an invitation, you’re not getting into this parking lot!”
Leo sneered, “I thought there was a person guarding this place, but it turns out to be an ignorant dog.”
“What the hell, kid? You dare insult me? Do you believe I can beat the crap out of you in minutes?” The chubby security guard rolled up his sleeves, swung his security baton, and pointed it at Leo’s head.
With a smirk, Leo swiftly extended his left hand, grabbing the security baton, and pulled it towards him. Simultaneously, he punched with his right hand.
The chubby security guard let out a miserable cry, stumbling backward, and finally sat down on the ground.
While the security guard was still dazed, Leo unfastened his seatbelt, exited the car, and snatched the remote control from the security guard’s hand. He lifted the barrier and signaled for Sophia to get back in the car.
Then, like an unleashed wild stallion, the Audi rushed into the parking lot.
After parking in their spot, Sophia couldn’t help but compliment Leo. “Leo, you’re quite the boss.”
“Of course, anyone who tries to stop my wife’s car will get a taste of my fist,” Leo replied with a smirk.
The two of them got out of the car and walked hand in hand towards the entrance.
Just then, a McLaren pulled into the vacant spot next to their Audi.
A man and a woman exited the McLaren. The woman glanced at the Audi with a disdainful, high-pitched voice, saying, “Isn’t Wind, Flowers, Snow, Moon one of Langstel’s top-notch high-end clubs? How did even this junky Audi manage to get in? What bad luck!”
The man with her added, “They must be here for the fan meeting, right? Brook is too lenient, letting anyone in.”
The man, Solomon Eddie, looked towards the club’s entrance and furrowed his brow. “Paula, take a look. The silhouettes of those two people in front of us seem oddly familiar.”
Paula Dunlop followed Solomon Eddie’s gaze and, once she recognized Sophia’s striking figure, she became angry. “Solomon, you’re impossible. You can’t resist staring at beautiful women!”
Solomon quickly retorted, “Paula, you’ve got it all wrong. Don’t you think that pair looks like Sophia Henley and her useless husband?”
Paula’s shock was evident. “It’s not just a resemblance; I think it’s them! It seems Sophia Henley brought her freeloading husband to the fan meeting.”
Solomon took Paula’s hand and said with a smile, “Let’s go, Paula. The fan meeting just got interesting with the presence of a useless man.”
Entering the club’s entrance, Leo asked, “Sophia, who is this Brook Winifred organizing the Marico Kingsley fan meeting?”
“I don’t know much about this person, but I’ve heard he’s the eldest son of the Winifred Group’s chairman, controlling the second-largest real estate company in Langstel,” Sophia replied.
Both of them completed a simple registration at the front desk.
At that moment, Solomon and Paula walked in.
Upon seeing Leo and Sophia ahead, Paula disdainfully asked Solomon, “Solomon, do you think being too close to a loser might affect my luck?”
Solomon was about to respond when a somewhat carefree-looking man walked over, loudly exclaiming, “Mr. Eddie, welcome.”
Solomon turned to look at the man and teased, “Mr. Sainsbury, a little more time away, and you’d be truly fashionable.”
Emmanuel Sainsbury confidently swept a strand of hair from his forehead and said proudly, “This isn’t called fashion; it’s called being handsome. Please use the right terminology in the future.”
Upon seeing Emmanuel’s punk-but-not-really-punk appearance, Paula couldn’t help but stifle a laugh.
“Has Mr. Winifred arrived?” Solomon asked.
“He’s already here and waiting for you. No need to register; just follow me,” Emmanuel said, once again tossing his hair with an air of self-assuredness.
Solomon hesitated and instead turned to look at Leo and Sophia to ask, “What kind of surprise does Mr. Winifred have in store today? Why did he invite the freeloading son-in-law too?”
Emmanuel followed Solomon’s gaze and asked with confusion, “What freeloading son-in-law?”
Solomon pointed and said, “That woman, Sophia Henley, the CEO of a cosmetics company. The man beside her is Leo Bloomer, the city’s recognized ‘freeloading son-in-law.'”
Emmanuel approached them as if he had discovered something novel.
First, he greedily examined Sophia for a while, then he fixed his gaze on Leo and asked in a questioning tone, “Are you the infamous Leo Bloomer, the son-in-law of the Henley family in Langstel?”
