Chapter 422: The Big Shot Appears

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

“Damn, turns out he’s the Henley family’s freeloading son-in-law, and today, I must’ve left my luck at home. I’m collecting management fees, and I run into this loser,” Kyle’s face contorted in extreme disdain.
The third henchman stepped forward, waving his fist at Leo. “You useless piece of trash, did you eat bear hearts and leopard guts? You dare to meddle in Kyle’s affairs. Do you even know that Kyle is Big Shot Bob’s cousin in Langstel?”
The angry shouts and taunts filled the bridal shop, and its owner, Eden, widened his eyes. He had never imagined that the person standing up for him would turn out to be the son-in-law of the famous Henley family.
Originally, Eden had thought Leo was some big shot; otherwise, how could he dare to offend Kyle? But now, it was clear that Leo couldn’t possibly match these four men, and he’d likely get beaten up soon.
What should he do now? Should he call the police?
Eden was torn.
On the other hand, Leo felt almost driven to despair by the insults and behavior of these hooligans. To think these lowlifes would dare claim to be related to Bob! If Bob did indeed have such relatives, Leo would thoroughly despise him.
Sophia walked up to Leo and asked, filled with doubt, “Does Bob really have relatives like these?”
Leo took out his phone and smiled, “Since he claims to be Bob’s cousin, I’ll give Bob a call and see if he recognizes this family member.”
“Kyle, look, standing next to this lazy freeloader is Langstel’s top beauty, Sophia!”
“Tsk tsk, today I’ve finally seen what it means to get such a beautiful wife. A freeloader like him somehow managed to marry such a gorgeous woman.”
“Kyle, did you hear that? This piece of trash freeloader says he’s going to call Bob. He’s really overdoing the whole act!”
An air of hostility slowly began to gather on Leo’s face, although he could easily defeat these hooligans, he chose not to because it wouldn’t be interesting.
Soon, Bob’s phone was ringing.
“Bob, it’s me.”
“Leo, what can I do for you?”
“I’m out shopping with my wife at SOHO Plaza, at a bridal shop. Guess who I bumped into?”
“Who did you run into?” Bob asked curiously.
“Your cousin. He’s here with a few henchmen, collecting the so-called ‘management fees’ in a bridal shop,” Leo said teasingly.
On the other end of the phone, Bob was a bit bewildered. “Cousin? I haven’t even figured out my own background, where would I get a cousin? You and your wife wait there; I’m coming over right away.”
“Kyle, I bet this lazy freeloader never actually dialed the phone; he’s just talking to himself to show off.”
“If he really knows Bob, then I know the President of the United States! What a waste, such a beautiful woman by his side. This freeloader should just hand over his wife to Kyle, and he might leave this bridal shop in one piece today.”
Leo barely contained his anger, using a low and intense voice, he said, “You four pieces of trash, when Bob arrives, you’ll be begging at my feet.”
“I swear, he’s still showing off, who the hell does he think he is? Let me tell you again, I’m Kyle, Big Shot Bob’s cousin!”
“This idiot must’ve been frightened out of his mind by Kyle’s presence. Kyle, should we take care of him first, and then we can take care of his wife later?”
Leo suppressed his anger and said in a cold voice, “I’ll give you ten minutes. Kneel down and beg for mercy. In ten minutes, you will lose your chance to do so.”
Kyle chuckled, “Brothers, did you hear that? This freeloading loser is actually giving us ten minutes. We have class, too. Why don’t we give him ten minutes to kneel down and offer his wife? How about that?”
“Kyle is a man of great understanding. Let’s give this loser ten minutes and enjoy his theatrics,” one of Kyle’s henchmen said, promptly fetching a chair for him.
Kyle plopped down on the chair, crossing his legs. One of his subordinates quickly handed him a cigarette, and he took out his phone to start a countdown.
After approximately nine minutes, Bob’s voice rang outside the bridal shop, “Who dares to claim they’re my cousin and cause a ruckus here?”
As soon as he spoke, Bob, along with Chasel and several henchmen, walked in.
Bob greeted Leo with a nod and respectfully greeted Sophia.
Chasel also greeted respectfully, “Mr. Bloomer.”
When Kyle and his crew saw Bob and his men enter the bridal shop, their souls nearly departed their bodies. In addition, Eden was left stunned.
Eden initially thought that Leo was merely making a prank call to frighten Kyle and the others, but now he had brought Bob here. Could it be that Leo wasn’t the son-in-law from the Henley family?
Otherwise, how could a freeloading man have the ability to summon Bob here? And judging by Bob and his men’s attitude towards Leo, they showed him tremendous respect.
What on earth was happening? Eden couldn’t fathom it, no matter how hard he tried.
Leo pointed at the man named Kyle and said, “Bob, this guy claims to be your cousin. He came here with three henchmen to collect the shop owner’s management fee, and he even said that the extra thirty percent is a tribute to you.”
Then Leo added mockingly, “Bob, I didn’t realize you had such a loyal cousin.”
Leo’s teasing put Bob in a somewhat awkward spot. Leo, with a final, malicious undertone, said, “This cousin of yours, still eyeing my wife, should you discipline him?”
Bob’s face had grown extremely dark, and he ordered Chasel, “Chop up these bastards who suddenly appeared out of nowhere and feed them to the dogs!”
Upon hearing this, Kyle and the others were immediately frightened out of their wits, and they knelt before Bob, desperately begging for mercy.
“Mr. Abe, I know I was wrong. I admire you so much that I pretended to be your cousin. Please spare me. I won’t dare do it again next time.”
Eden couldn’t help but look at Leo with astonishment and a hint of curiosity. He couldn’t believe that a big shot on the streets would show such respect to a Henley family son-in-law.
As for these four scoundrels who dared to deceive under Bob’s name for so long, it was simply unbearable. Eden took a step forward, looked at Bob, and said respectfully, “Mr. Abe, these four scoundrels have been using your name to deceive people for a long time. They come to collect so-called management fees from business owners every month, and anyone who refuses to pay gets in trouble. It has made all the business owners in this area suffer.”
