The onlookers began to shift their allegiance towards Leo, condemning the elderly man. The middle-aged women and others seethed with anger, but in the face of this collective rage, they had no way out.
Leo stood in front of the middle-aged woman, blocking her path with a sneer, “Come and go as you please? This is a clinic, not a market!”
“What do you want, you little punk?” The middle-aged woman glared at Leo.
Smack!
Without wasting words, Leo gave her a resounding slap, sending her sprawling to the ground once again. “You come to my clinic, create trouble, and then want to leave when things go south? It’s not that simple.”
Leo’s cold voice sent shivers down the spines of the elderly man and his companions. Ever since the elderly man’s recovery, Scar had known that this group had come to cause trouble. He whistled, and more than ten of his men, armed with various implements, surrounded them.
The crowd quickly backed away. They were all furious; they had almost been deceived by this group.
The middle-aged woman got up, wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, and sneered with a face full of hostility, “Kid, let me advise you to be sensible. Our backers are not someone you can provoke.”
Smack!
Leo struck the middle-aged woman once more and instructed Scar to call the police.
Ten minutes later, the group was taken away by the police, awaiting strict legal consequences.
Before the police took them away, Scar used his fists to extract information about the mastermind behind their actions. They were sent by the Read Clinic across the street.
After learning the truth, Dr. Davy was infuriated. “Leo, we should never have spared the Read Clinic after the last incident!”
“Dr. Davy, do you know who owns the Read Clinic?” Leo inquired.
Dr. Davy thought for a moment and replied, “I believe it’s owned by someone named Louis Jennings, but I’m not sure about the specifics.”
“An eye for an eye. Since they’ve been targeting us repeatedly, we can’t let them off so easily,” Leo declared. “Let’s go pay a visit to this Louis Jennings.”
With his medical kit slung over his shoulder, Dr. Davy followed Leo out. The onlookers, eager for more drama, trailed behind.
The few disciples of Louis Jennings inside the Read Clinic were taken aback when they saw the intimidating group storming in. One of them shouted, “Who are you, and what do you want?”
Another young doctor chimed in, “If you’re not here for medical treatment, get out immediately. This is not a place for you to cause trouble!”
Leo, leading the way, spoke arrogantly, “Stop with the empty threats. I’m Leo from the Nameless Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic. Get Louis Jennings out here.”
“You’ve been repeatedly causing trouble for my clinic. Today, you must answer for your actions!” Dr. Davy added, his voice icy.
A doctor stood in Leo’s way and disdainfully said, “Who do you think you are? My teacher doesn’t meet with just anyone.”
“Get lost. You, an impotent man, have no right to talk to me,” Leo sneered, full of contempt.
“Impotent?” The guy’s face changed, and he stuttered, “Y-you, what nonsense are you spouting? I’ll s-sue you for defamation!”
The panic on this guy’s face showed that Leo had hit a nerve.
“You’ve probably been taking plenty of tonics, haven’t you? But they’re not working, are they?” Leo continued with a cold smile, “Lately, you’ve lost your appetite, and every time you eat, you feel nauseous and vomit. In the afternoons, you experience weakness and night sweats, am I right?”
“How do you know?” The guy was taken aback.
“Never mind how I know. Let me make it clear to you: you’ve contracted hepatitis B,” Leo said coldly.
The mention of hepatitis B startled the doctor. Several patients who had sought his treatment also looked horrified, well aware that hepatitis B was contagious.
“You’re spouting nonsense!” The Chinese doctor struggled to respond.
“Leave immediately. If you keep blabbering in front of me, I’ll let everyone know you have hepatitis B. Let’s see if anyone will come to you for treatment in the future!” Leo’s eyes glared at him.
Another young doctor stepped forward angrily. “You, how dare you threaten my senior? You’re utterly shameless!”
“Shameless? You have the audacity to use that word with me?” Leo coldly continued, “You just treated a patient for damp-heat syndrome, causing coughing and excessive phlegm. All he needed was a simple formula to clear the lungs, but you prescribed ganoderma and Ginseng along with other tonics, making him pay a fortune. Tell me, who’s shameless here?”
The patient who had received treatment from the young doctor couldn’t believe their ears. He asked, “Dr. Kelsen, is what he’s saying true?”
Dr. Kelsen’s face turned crimson with embarrassment. “Don’t listen to his nonsense; he knows nothing.”
Leo looked at the patient and said, “I’m Dr. Bloomer, a Chinese medicine practitioner from the Nameless Clinic. You didn’t need medication for your ailment. I can treat you with acupuncture.”
“Really? Please, go ahead with the acupuncture,” the patient said, relieved.
Leo made the patient sit down and took out silver needles from Dr. Davy’s kit. He inserted nine needles into nine acupoints on the patient’s body.
After Leo removed the needles, the patient stood up joyfully. “I feel much better now. My chest is no longer congested, my throat doesn’t itch, and I’ve stopped coughing!”
“Dr. Bloomer, your medical skills are truly miraculous. Thank you. I’ll come to you for treatment from now on.” The patient gave Leo a thumbs-up and tore up the prescription he had been given earlier.
Seeing this, Dr. Kelsen’s face turned even redder.
The female doctor standing next to Dr. Kelsen couldn’t contain herself any longer and shouted at Leo, “Get out immediately! If you cause any more trouble, I’ll call the police!”
Leo looked at the female doctor and smiled. “As a woman, having such a temper is not very becoming. Are you frequently anxious and prone to uncontrollable daydreaming lately? Do you often wake up from nightmares in the middle of the night, and on rainy days, do you experience cold hands and feet and sudden weakness?”
“How do you know?” The female doctor was astonished by Leo’s words.
