“Let go of me, let go of me! I’m going to kill that quack!” The middle-aged woman shouted angrily. “You owe me my dad’s life!”
Her companions clenched their fists, ready to charge and beat Leo at a moment’s notice.
“Who dares to lay a hand on him!?” Scar stepped forward, glaring at them, his face turning red. If he didn’t feel in the wrong, he would have already punched these people.
“Did any of you bother to take a good look at the old man before saying he’s being dead? You had time to yell and scream at me, but you couldn’t think to dial 911 for an ambulance? Moreover, your dad had only been dead for a few minutes, and I hadn’t even called the police yet when you all rushed in.”
Leo paid no mind to the crowd’s gaze. Instead, he waved his hand and wrote a note, handing it to Dr. Davy. He then turned to the middle-aged woman and continued, “Did you already know your dad would die here?”
Dr. Davy glanced at the note briefly, feeling a momentary confusion, but he said nothing and went off to make arrangements.
“You’re talking nonsense!” The middle-aged woman fumed. “You killed my dad, and now you’re trying to blame me. Are you even human?”
“Yeah, we all saw it. My uncle was killed by you. You’re a heartless quack, trying to shift the blame!”
“What’s with this so-called century-old renowned clinic? It’s just trash. The doctors inside are all frauds who deceive the world!”
“Uncle, you died so tragically, all because of this damn doctor!”
The middle-aged woman’s companions echoed each other, attacking Leo.
The onlookers also joined in the accusations. “Dr. Bloomer, given the old man’s age, you should have been more careful with acupuncture.”
“That’s right, we all came here because we heard about your exceptional medical skills. Don’t tell me you’re just an unscrupulous quack seeking fame?”
“Dr. Bloomer, I think you better apologize and compensate them right away. Otherwise, they’ll sue you, and not only will your clinic be shut down, but you’ll end up behind bars.”
The middle-aged woman pointed at Leo indignantly. “See, everyone says it’s your fault. What have you got to say for yourself?”
Leo smiled faintly. “What do you want?”
“My dad died because of you. Either compensate me privately with 20 million, or I’ll sue you for everything you’ve got, and you’ll end up penniless and in jail!” The middle-aged woman looked self-righteous. “I’ll give you three minutes to think it over!”
“No need to think. I don’t need either of the ‘eithers’ you mentioned.”
“You quack! You want to act tough, huh!?”
Leo sneered, “Since you claim your dad is dead, I’ll bring him back to life.”
The crowd was shocked to hear this. How could a dead person possibly come back to life?
“Leo, your medicine is ready.” Dr. Davy approached, carrying a bowl of steaming potion made of Chinese herbs. The fact that steam was still rising from the bowl indicated it had just been taken off the stove.
“What are you planning to do?” The middle-aged woman had a bad feeling when she saw the potion.
“Of course, I’m going to bring your dad back to life.” Leo gave her a cold look. “Once this miraculous medicine goes down his throat, even if he’s dead, he’ll come back to life. Everyone here can be a witness. If the old man doesn’t come back to life, I’ll compensate you with 20 million and close the clinic.”
“Scar, open the old man’s mouth for me,” Leo ordered.
As a burly henchman approached, the middle-aged woman had a sudden realization and hastily protested, “No, you can’t do this! My dad is already dead. You can’t desecrate his body!”
Her companions rushed forward to stop Leo from administering the medicine to the old man.
Seeing the situation, Scar signaled to his underlings, and they stepped in to block the middle-aged woman’s companions. With a push, Scar easily subdued her.
Leo didn’t hesitate. He walked over, opened the old man’s mouth, and began forcefully pouring the medicine into him.
The scalding liquid contained a significant amount of croton seeds.
The old man, in pain, began to vomit forcefully, trying to expel the medicine from his mouth.
The onlookers were horrified by this scene. Some of the faint-hearted even screamed and retreated, their expressions as if they had seen a ghost in broad daylight.
No one had expected that a bowl of Chinese herbs could bring a dead person back to life.
Wait, perhaps this old man hadn’t actually died but was pretending to be dead!
Leo wasn’t going to let this old man off easily. He pressed down on his shoulders with one hand, held the medicine bowl with the other, and forcefully poured it down the old man’s throat.
The scorching liquid caused blisters to form on the old man’s lips. He let out incomprehensible cries of pain and struggled to resist, but Leo’s grip was too strong for him to break free.
The middle-aged woman and her companions watched in shock. They hadn’t anticipated that this young doctor would be so ruthless.
After administering the entire bowl of medicine, Leo finally stopped and handed the empty bowl to Dr. Davy. Then, he stood up and said, “There you go, your father is alive, and his stomach shouldn’t hurt anymore.”
Leo turned to Dr. Davy and reminded him, “Dr. Davy, the consultation fee is 200 bucks. Don’t forget to collect it.”
Dr. Davy smiled and nodded.
“You scoundrel!” The old man, in pain, gritted his teeth and glared at Leo. “Bastard, are you trying to kill me!?”
The middle-aged woman and her companions rushed forward to comfort the old man and applied ointment to his blistered lips.
Leo glanced at everyone present and smiled. “You’ve all seen it. Our clinic won’t kill people; we’ll only bring them back to life.”
“Dr. Bloomer’s medical skills are truly miraculous. With just a bowl of medicine, even the dead can be revived.”
“We accused Dr. Bloomer wrongly earlier. His ability to revive the dead is truly admirable.”
“In the future, let’s all come to the Nameless Clinic when we’re sick. As long as Dr. Bloomer is there, I believe any illness can be cured.”
“This old man has a bit of an attitude. Dr. Bloomer saved him, but he doesn’t even show gratitude. Instead, he’s cursing at him. That’s just unreasonable.”
