“Finished…” Franklin stared blankly at the towering flames ahead, his heart filled with despair.
After Leo’s death in the fiery inferno, Franklin knew that there was no one left to protect him. He had betrayed the sect and offended Jeff, which meant he would face the cruel judgment of the Seven Swords.
“Jeff, you celebrated too soon!” A cold, mocking laugh exploded in Jeff’s ears, making him shudder with panic.
Amidst the sea of fire, a human-shaped moving block of ice appeared. Leo emerged from the flames, extending his hands to shatter the ice layer that covered him. He was unscathed.
“Mr. Bloomer!” Franklin couldn’t help but yell when he saw Leo alive and well.
“You… you’re actually fine!?” Jeff stared at Leo with disbelief. He couldn’t fathom how this guy had survived a combination of intense flames and explosions.
“Jeff, I told you that if you couldn’t kill me, you’d be in for a rough time,” Leo said with an icy gaze, his tremendous aura pressing down on Jeff.
If it weren’t for the prepared explosive talismans, Leo would have been a goner today.
Jennifer, who had been locked in a fierce battle with Janet, saw Leo emerge unscathed and couldn’t help but show astonishment and joy on her face.
Leo’s strength gave Jennifer renewed confidence. She pushed Janet back with a palm strike and stood by Leo’s side.
“Leo, are you okay?” Jennifer examined Leo from head to toe. Besides looking a bit pale, he seemed intact.
Leo shook his head and replied, “I’m fine.” He took out the Blue Phantom Sword and infused it with a bit of energy. The sword’s surface radiated a strange blue light.
Janet also moved to Jeff’s side, her face covered in pustules, and asked in an incredulous tone, “Jeff, what’s going on? How did this guy survive!?”
“He couldn’t have broken the steel cage; it must have been the explosion that broke the steel pillars and allowed him to escape,” Jeff speculated, his voice filled with seriousness.
“Jennifer, Janet is your responsibility now. I’ll take care of Jeff,” Leo said, summoning a talisman into his left hand and drawing the Blue Phantom Sword in his right hand.
“Kid, don’t think that just because you survived, I’m afraid of you!” Jeff sneered and drew his own sword, causing his clothes to tremble with the surge of inner energy.
“Seven Star Flying Sword!” With a stern shout, Jeff’s sword turned into a streak of light, enveloped in a sharp sword aura, cutting through the air toward Leo.
“Ice Talismans, Sike!” Leo immediately activated a talisman and, in the next second, Jeff’s sword was deeply embedded in an ice wall, unable to advance.
“Little Thunder Talisman!” Leo used another talisman, and a silver lightning bolt flashed in the sky, striking fiercely toward Jeff.
“Body-protecting Divine Seal!” Jeff shouted. He made a strange hand gesture, and a pale gold aura appeared over his head like a shield.
“Boom!” The lightning struck the pale gold aura mercilessly, creating a deafening explosion.
“Ka-cha!” The pale gold aura cracked and shattered. Before the remnants of the Little Thunder Talisman could hit Jeff, he roared and punched upward with a surge of inner energy.
With a powerful punch, he dispersed the remaining energy of the talisman.
Just as Jeff was dispersing the remnants of the Little Thunder Talisman, Leo took out five more Little Thunder Talismans from his body and activated them simultaneously, sending them towards Jeff.
“Jeff, since you wanted to burn me alive, I’ll let you experience the taste of Five Thunderbolts Descend.” Leo’s hands moved rapidly to form seals, and the five Little Thunder Talismans formed a formation with him as the center, activated by his spiritual energy.
The five Little Thunder Talismans surrounding Jeff began to tremble and emitted a silvery-white light. These lights connected and formed a silvery-white halo around him.
At this moment, fear flickered in Jeff’s eyes. As someone who was about to enter the Grand Martial Master realm, he could clearly sense himself being locked in place by a terrifying force.
Jeff extended his right hand to retrieve his sword that was stuck in the ice wall and swung it at the silvery-white halo. “A few scraps of paper can’t harm me!”
Jeff’s sword couldn’t break through the silvery-white halo. Leo sneered, changed his hand seals, and said, “Five Thunderbolts Descend, Strike!”
Suddenly, five lightning bolts shot out from the silvery-white halo, like five silver snakes, carrying a terrifying momentum as they struck toward Jeff’s head.
“Purple Radiance, shield!” Jeff’s face turned pale with shock as he surged all his inner energy, condensing it into a purple shield around him.
“Boom, boom, boom…” Five thunderbolts pounded the purple shield above Jeff’s head.
Leo’s hands moved in a swift incantation, and the silver halo began to contract. Soon, the silver halo, along with the lightning, formed a thunderball that enveloped Jeff.
The thunderball and the purple shield interwove, emitting a terrifying roar and a blinding silver light, making it impossible for anyone to keep their eyes open.
After the final explosion, the thunderball vanished, and so did the purple shield.
Looking at Jeff now, he was a sorry sight. His clothes were in tatters, his face charred, and his hair standing on end. He knelt on one knee, appearing utterly miserable.
“Urgh!” Jeff couldn’t hold it any longer and spat out a mouthful of blood. His figure wavered and seemed on the verge of collapsing.
“Purple Radiance, Go!” Leo’s eyes turned icy as he controlled Purple Radiance to shoot towards Jeff.
A purple light beam pierced through Jeff’s body without any resistance. Three seconds later, Jeff, who was on one knee, slowly fell to the ground.
“Jeff!” Janet’s pupils suddenly contracted, and she let out a sharp scream. Her entire body emitted poisonous mist, forcing Jennifer to retreat.
“You scum, I won’t just kill you; I’ll exterminate your entire family! I swear not to let you live in this lifetime!” Janet’s eyes filled with hatred and murderous intent as she glared at Leo.
Despite their strained relationship, Jeff and Janet were still husband and wife. As the saying goes, “Through thick and thin,” Jeff’s enemies were also her enemies.
Leo wasn’t afraid of her and was about to activate another talisman when he heard Janet’s cold laughter. She then transformed into a black mist and disappeared from the training ground.
