Each of the pipes had a bend at the top, turning ninety degrees to aim directly at Leo inside the steel cage. Leo knew these were the fire-spewing nozzles.
Jeff laughed heartily, “You thought you were so impressive, boy. Now, you can enjoy yourself!”
With that, Jeff activated his inner energy and gave a slap to the ceiling. A sound of rushing liquid followed, and a pale yellow substance began flowing down the steel pillars of the cage. A stimulating odor filled the air.
It was gasoline!
Leo’s face shifted slightly. Jeff was indeed ruthless; combining fire nozzles with gasoline, it was a deadly combination that could reduce an ordinary person to ashes.
“Alright, everything has been prepared for you. You can savor it slowly. Just remember not to scream too loudly; we don’t want to scare anyone,” Jeff gloated, heading towards the exit of the hall.
Leo’s eyes turned icy. His voice, laced with a hint of menace, declared, “Jeff, you’ll regret this when I get out.”
“Oh, really? Then find a way out, I look forward to it,” Jeff replied confidently. He believed that even if Leo was a cultivator, he wouldn’t escape from this specially designed steel cage.
As Jeff reached the hall’s exit, he reached out towards the door frame. Next to the door frame was a circular red button. Pressing it would activate the fire nozzles in the floor, spewing forth flames, combined with the gasoline-nobody would escape that inferno.
Leo quickly flipped out a talisman from his body. “Jeff, do you know what this is?” he asked, showing the talisman to Jeff.
The appearance of the talisman caught Jeff’s attention. He wouldn’t burn Leo to death immediately, not until he learned Leo’s secrets. Jeff rested his finger threateningly on the red button. “Kid, I advise you to spill all your secrets, and maybe then I’ll consider giving you a quick death.”
Jennifer had been watching Leo’s dire situation and wanted to rush over to destroy the fire nozzles several times, but Janet had prevented her. The two of them had fought their way from the main hall to the martial arts training ground.
“Ice Talismans, activate!” Leo spoke sharply.
Seeing the talisman in Leo’s hand burst into flames, Jeff assumed Leo was going to use it against him and immediately pressed the red button.
“Kid, you can die now!” Jeff sneered.
“Boom!”
The moment the red button was pressed, all four fire nozzles simultaneously unleashed a fierce torrent of flames, and the gasoline ignited instantly. A raging fire quickly engulfed the steel cage.
Out of the corner of her eye, Jennifer noticed the blazing fire erupting in the main hall, causing her fair face to turn pale. Although Jennifer and Leo weren’t well-acquainted, today was the first time they had met. Leo had not only helped Little Stone regain her ability to speak but had also rid her of toxins and restored her inner strength. Because of this, Jennifer had already come to regard Leo as a friend.
Seeing a friend in distress, her heart filled with anxiety. However, at this moment, she was helpless against Janet and couldn’t rush to Leo’s aid.
“Jennifer, your helper is dead. You’re destined to fail,” Janet sneered maliciously, launching a more ruthless attack against Jennifer.
Standing at a distance, Franklin saw the dramatic scene in the main hall and turned pale. He muttered to himself, “Mr. Bloomer is a spiritual cultivator; he won’t die so easily…”
Franklin knew that if Leo perished in the flames, Jennifer would stand no chance against Jeff and Janet. Once Master Jennifer fell at Janet’s hands, Jeff would undoubtedly come after him.
Jeff, standing just outside the main hall, observed the blazing fire within with a cold smile. “Whether you’re a spiritual cultivator or whatever, if you dare to cross me, your fate is sealed!”
The only thing bothering Jeff was the lack of screams from Leo.
Inside the steel cage, Leo was drenched in sweat. The intense heat caused the ice wall protecting him to crack. Once the ice wall completely melted, there was no doubt Leo would be incinerated on the spot.
In this dire situation, Leo had no choice but to resort to drastic measures. He clenched his teeth and took out three explosive talismans from his body.
With a flick of his right hand, the three explosive talismans floated around him in a triangular formation.
Creating this set of three explosive talismans had cost Leo considerable effort. Now, he had to use them, even if it meant losing valuable resources.
“Three Talisman Formation, explode!” Leo commanded, his hands moving rapidly, forming a complex seal.
The formation took shape, and Leo’s spiritual energy surged, manifesting as three tangible golden light bands, connecting to the three talismans floating around him.
In this critical moment, Leo was forced to utilize a talisman formation which was recorded in the Nine Heavens Star Chart. A talisman formation was constructed using talismans as the foundation, guided by spiritual energy, with Leo acting as the focal point. It was a powerful formation but consumed an incredible amount of spiritual energy.
This was Leo’s first attempt at using a talisman formation.
The formation completed, and all three talismans erupted with a dazzling golden light. Even the fiery blaze was overshadowed, making the scene appear surreal.
Although these three talismans were independent, they shared a mysterious connection and vibrated at the same frequency.
“Activate!” Leo shouted, his right hand slashing through the flames.
Thinking Leo was going to attack him with the talismans, Jeff decided to press the red button immediately.
“Boom!”
Leo’s pupils flashed with a golden light as he shouted fiercely.
“Boom!”
Following Leo’s shout, the three explosive talismans affixed to the steel pillars ignited simultaneously and then exploded together. The sound of the explosion was earth-shattering, causing even the main building to shake as if in response.
Several steel pillars of the cage were shattered by the explosion. Leo’s ice wall, which protected him, cracked under the shockwave. Leo quickly opened his hands, breaking the ice wall and sending ice shards flying in all directions.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Leo swiftly kicked apart the fractured steel pillars, and at the same time, he released an Ice Talisman.
The fiery explosion, spurred by the gasoline, raged on, and Jeff, caught in the flames, hastily removed his outer garments and discarded them.
“Boom!”
The ceiling of the main hall couldn’t withstand the flames any longer and came crashing down, intensifying the blaze.
“Such a powerful explosion! Leo, oh Leo, even if you’re a spiritual cultivator, you must be reduced to ashes now,” Jeff taunted as he watched the terrifying scene unfold.
