Chapter 296: Swagger

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

“You’re just a useless son-in-law of the Henley family. It wouldn’t be interesting to deal with you directly,” Ford taunted.
“And I’ve heard you’ve been married to Sophia for four years and haven’t touched her. So, letting someone else do it for you is quite amusing. Unfortunately, Morgan messed up, and it didn’t work,” he continued.
“Are you not afraid that I’ll kill you for this?” Leo’s tone turned icy, his gaze piercing.
Ford smiled fearlessly. “Leo Bloomer, while you may have some skills, you’re overestimating yourself. In Langstel, someone like you doesn’t even count as an ant. To deal with you, I don’t even need to involve my family’s power. If you dare to lay a finger on me today, I guarantee you’ll rot in jail!”
“Really? Are you planning to use the police against me?” Leo said sarcastically.
“Exactly. You stabbed someone at the Mirror Reflections, and you intentionally harmed someone at the Flying Dragon Security Training Base. I have video evidence of both incidents,” Ford stated as he put down his glass and lit a cigar. “Even if you’re skilled, can you really contend with the police? I’ll make you deeply experience that I’m someone you can’t mess with.”
Although Morgan’s plan had failed, Ford had a Plan B. In his eyes, Leo, this useless son-in-law, was an easy target. Moreover, Ford was a martial cultivator with strength beyond that of a lower-tier martial artist. A regular person, no matter how skilled, couldn’t possibly be his match.
As Ford exuded confidence, Cherry gained more confidence as well. In her eyes, Leo, who had rejected her earlier, was making the biggest mistake of his life.
After Ford finished speaking, Leo’s figure suddenly blurred, and he appeared right in front of him.
*Smack!*
A loud slap echoed as Leo’s palm struck Ford’s face.
“This slap is my welcome gift for you,” Leo’s voice was cold and harsh.
Ford held his cheek, stunned.
As a martial cultivator, he had failed to react in time, leaving him temporarily dazed.
*Smack!*
Another crisp slap followed.
“This second one is a gift too, a way for you to understand whether you can provoke me.”
Ford’s face was now visibly swollen, and his cigar had long been sent flying.
*Smack!*
And then another.
“I’m throwing in the third one for free. Let me be clear; in my eyes, you’re no different from an ant. I can crush you anytime I want.”
Leo spoke, and with a kick, he sent Ford flying.
Ford, sitting in a chair, was thrown into the wall with a thud, and a mouthful of blood spewed from his mouth.
In the private room, Ford’s companions were left in shocked silence. They had never seen someone so audacious in front of Ford, who was considered one of Langstel’s most notorious troublemakers. Leo dared to slap him and even kick him in front of everyone-it was almost suicidal.
Cherry had been petrified by the unfolding scene. Leo had transformed into a lunatic in her eyes.
Struggling to get up from the ground, Ford’s face showed humiliation and rage. “Leo, you dare to hit me? You’re dead! I’ll make sure you suffer!”
A son-in-law living off his wife’s family wealth had dared to strike him in front of so many people. Ford, with his prestigious background, couldn’t tolerate such an insult.
In Ford’s view, if Leo managed to hit him, it was only because he had struck unexpectedly without warning. With Ford’s martial cultivator skills, a regular person, let alone Leo, wouldn’t even come close.
“I’m the one who struck you. What can you possibly do to me?” Leo took a seat in Ford’s place, pouring himself a cup of tea.
Audacious!
That was the word to describe him.
Inside the private room, Ford’s companions had never seen someone so audacious in all their years.
Ford, despite his fury, forced a smile and adjusted his posture, secretly using his inner energy to mend his injuries. “Leo, you’re the first person brave enough to speak to me like this. Today, without Mr. Dan here, no one can save you. You only have one choice: give me one of your legs and one of your hands, and then deliver Sophia to my bed. Otherwise, you’ll end up like this chair.”
Ford spoke as he raised his foot and smashed a nearby wooden chair.
*Crack!*
The chair disintegrated into wooden shards under Ford’s foot.
Ford demonstrated his martial cultivator skills, revealing his dominant presence, which earned cheers from his companions.
Cherry’s eyes sparkled with admiration. She thought that being able to be with Ford was a stroke of luck she had acquired in her past life.
“Leo Bloomer, I advise you to listen to Mr. Gregory,” Cherry said, standing up and pointing at Leo disdainfully. “Let me be honest with you; your skills are nothing in front of Mr. Gregory. He can dispose of you with a mere flick of his finger.”
Leo remained silent, just sipping his tea.
Ford, with a cold and scornful look, approached Leo. “Leo Bloomer, I’ve always thought that I was audacious, but you’ve exceeded my expectations. I have a prestigious family background, and I possess formidable strength. These are the reasons for my audacity. But you’re different. You’re just a useless son-in-law. The gap between your wretched life and mine is as wide as a million light-years. Today, I’ll show you how dire the consequences are for provoking me.”
Ford roared in anger, activating his inner strength, and attempted to land a punch on Leo’s head.
In Ford’s mind, even if he didn’t manage to kill Leo with this punch, he would at least severely injure him. Leo wouldn’t dare to mess with him again.
“Bang!”
But Leo suddenly stood up from his seat, grabbed Ford’s fist with his left hand, and delivered another slap to Ford’s cheek with his right hand.
Leo’s movements were graceful and effortless, as if he were dealing with a lifeless puppet.
Ford, entire body rotating, crashed into a tea table and fell onto it, overturning the cups and spilling tea mixed with his own blood onto the floor.
The private room fell into a deathly silence once more.
Cherry, covering her mouth with her hand, couldn’t believe what she had just witnessed. She had personally seen Ford’s training, and even twenty burly bodyguards wouldn’t be his match. How could he be so utterly defenseless in front of Leo?
Ford lay on the tea table, feeling humiliated and furious. How had he ended up being slapped four times by a useless son-in-law? This was an impossible situation in his mind!
