Sean sneered, “No need for the extra effort, Leo. I can tell you right now, on behalf of my mom, that she won’t go!”
With those words, Leo decided not to say more.
After having lunch, Martin and his group were getting ready to leave for Langstel, but Bruno called Leo to the backyard.
It took over half an hour for the two of them to return from the backyard. What they did in the backyard was unknown to anyone.
All the onlookers could see were the expressions on their faces. Leo remained calm, but Bruno wore a grimace, as if he had just bitten into a piece of bad news.
Back home, Leo received a call from Madame Godwin.
During the call, Madame Godwin informed Leo that one of her colleagues had been seriously injured the day before and was currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. Not only had there been no signs of improvement, but the situation was worsening.
Considering Leo’s miraculous medical skills from the previous day, Madame Godwin had decided to call for his assistance.
After hanging up the phone, Leo informed Sophia that he had to go to the emergency room and then left in his car.
Sophia didn’t ask many questions, only telling him to come back soon.
He rushed to the hospital, and in the ICU ward, Leo met Madame Godwin.
Seeing Leo, Madame Godwin clung to his hand as if she had found her savior, pleading, “Leo, please help save my colleague. I know you can do it.”
As soon as Madame Godwin finished speaking, the instruments by the bedside emitted urgent alarm sounds.
Leo knew the situation was critical and swiftly moved to treat the patient. However, at that moment, several medical staff rushed into the room.
A female doctor spotted Leo preparing to do something to the patient and immediately intervened, saying, “Who are you? This is the emergency room. Get out of here!”
Two other doctors quickly pulled Leo away and began to resuscitate the detective on the bed.
Five minutes later, the four doctors ceased their rescue, their expressions filled with despair.
On the monitor, the line representing the patient’s heart rate had become a flat line.
Madame Godwin stared at her comrade on the bed with a mixture of hopelessness and grief.
Lesley and Victor, standing by Madame Godwin, also looked pained.
Leo stepped forward and said with confidence, “I can save him.”
The female doctor, heavy-hearted, heard Leo’s words and gave him an incredulous look, exclaiming angrily, “Don’t be ridiculous. The patient’s breathing and heartbeat have stopped!”
Madame Godwin, clutching her last hope, approached the female doctor, saying, “Doctor, let him try!”
“Madame Godwin, this…” The female doctor hesitated. As the attending physician, she couldn’t allow a stranger to cause chaos in the hospital.
“Give me ten minutes, and I will bring him back,” Leo said with certainty.
The skeptical female doctor scoffed, “He is clinically dead. Even if you had ten hours, it wouldn’t make a difference. Don’t disrupt our work.”
Time was of the essence, and Leo didn’t want to waste any more time. He signaled to Madame Godwin.
“Dr. Mond, please leave the room for now,” Madame Godwin said, using her authority as the police chief.
Lesley and Victor stepped forward, blocking the four doctors and two nurses from entering the room.
Dr. Mond, standing in the corridor outside the room, didn’t leave but instead stared at Leo with anger. She wanted to see how a random stranger could create a miracle and bring her patient back to life!
Leo took out a silver needle and swiftly inserted it into nine key acupuncture points on the detective’s body.
The tip of the silver needle emitted a faint white glow, and with each sweep, it seemed to gather the vitality of the detective lying on the hospital bed.
The acupuncture technique Leo employed today was the “Life-Retrieving Sweeping Needle” from the “Nine Extreme Mystical Needles.” It was evident that with each sweep Leo made, the silver needles inserted into the acupuncture points would automatically penetrate a bit deeper.
After eight sweeps, Leo stopped and used a peculiar hand gesture with his left hand, tapping the detective’s forehead gently.
The faint white lights at the tips of the needles suddenly disappeared, and a terrified scream rang out, coming from one of the nurses outside the room.
The reason for the nurse’s scream was that the detective had suddenly sat up from the bed!
Dr. Mond and her team were left dumbfounded, staring in shock at the unexpected turn of events.
What they had considered a death case had just come back to life. The detective, who had been presumed dead, not only sat up but also slowly opened his eyes.
This scene filled Madame Godwin with relief and joy. “Sam!”
Sam, initially bewildered, turned to the source of the voice and, upon seeing Madame Godwin, exclaimed happily, “Madame!”
Leo’s right hand performed one final sweep, and all nine silver needles that had been inserted into Sam’s acupuncture points automatically flew into his hand.
Leo put away the silver needles and walked to the door of the emergency room, saying to Dr. Mond, “You can go in now and examine him.”
Dr. Mond and her team exchanged glances, then hurried into the room to conduct various tests on Sam.
When they saw the indicators displayed on the monitor, they thought they might be seeing things and rubbed their eyes in disbelief.
Sam’s vital signs had returned to normal, and they were stable…
In the corridor outside the room, Leo drank a bottle of mineral water, catching his breath.
The reason Leo was able to revive Sam was that Sam hadn’t experienced true brain death. Once the brain was dead, not even Leo, a high-level spiritual cultivator, could bring someone back to life.
The treatment just now had consumed a considerable amount of his mental and spiritual energy, and Leo felt exhausted.
Madame Godwin approached Leo, her eyes filled with gratitude. “Leo, thank you.”
“No need to be so polite,” Leo replied with a wave of his hand.
Sitting beside Leo, Madame Godwin seemed to recall something important and said, “Leo, your ability to control the needles and your incredible medical skills might attract some attention.”
“What do you mean?” Leo asked, not quite understanding.
Madame Godwin explained, There’s a department called the Ministry of State Security. Within the Ministry of State Security, there’s an organization called WONDER, and it’s filled with extraordinary people. Three years ago, while I was assisting WONDER with a major case, I witnessed someone cut a car in half with a knife!”
“WONDER?” Leo’s expression turned thoughtful.
“Rumor has it that WONDER is a government department specialized in confronting martial cultivators. They work behind the scenes to maintain the country’s stability,” Madame Godwin continued.
