This evening, Sophia had a business engagement, which involved signing a cooperation contract with a cosmetics distributor. In the world of business, many deals were sealed over dinner, and the chosen venue was the upscale restaurant called “Mirror Reflections.”
Sophia originally had no intention of going to this restaurant, but the distributor, Morgan Christy, insisted on it. He made it clear that if Sophia didn’t attend, their potential partnership would be off, and he’d collaborate with Spring Wind Cosmetics instead. Lately, Spring Wind Cosmetics had been giving Sophia’s company a run for its money, and she couldn’t afford to miss this opportunity to compete.
To ensure everything went smoothly, Sophia brought along her secretary, Lydia.
At Mirror Reflections, once the food was served, Morgan raised a toast to Sophia. However, after just one drink, Lydia noticed that something was amiss. She knew Sophia’s alcohol tolerance well, and it was highly unusual for her to show any signs of drunkenness after just one glass.
Lydia’s immediate suspicion was that the drink had been tampered with. She seized the opportunity to excuse herself and quickly called Leo.
Upon returning from the restroom, Lydia noticed that Sophia had become increasingly unusual. She was downing drink after drink without any prompting from Morgan.
Worried for Sophia’s safety, Lydia tried to stop her from drinking more, but Morgan had the restaurant manager send security to forcefully eject her.
Lydia was torn between calling the police or reaching out to Leo again when suddenly, a Mercedes-Benz pulled up right in front of her.
Leo stepped out of the car, and upon seeing Lydia standing on the roadside, he immediately called out, “Lydia!”
Lydia urgently approached Leo and said, “Sophia is in trouble.”
Leo asked, “Where is she?”
“Third floor of the hotel, room 306!” Lydia replied hastily.
Without wasting any time, Leo headed towards the hotel.
Lydia was Sophia’s secretary; she had witnessed Leo’s impressive actions when he booked the entire Wyndham Hotel for Sophia, and that had left a strong impression on her. She had even saved Leo’s phone number, and when Sophia was in trouble, she knew Leo was the one to call.
Seeing Leo about to enter the hotel, Lydia asked, “Should I call the police? They might have many people inside.”
“No need! Just wait for us in the car,” Leo said without looking back, rushing into the hotel.
Lydia, unable to sit still with worry for Sophia, followed Leo into the hotel.
The flames of anger burned in Leo’s chest. If anyone dared to harm Sophia, he would take them down, even if it meant defying the gods themselves!
On the third floor, there were two security guards blocking the corridor. Leo swiftly dealt with them, delivering a resounding smack to each, sending them sprawling to the ground.
Reaching the door to Room 306, there were two men dressed in black suits and sunglasses stationed outside.
One of them shouted, “This isn’t a place for you. Get lost!”
Leo paid no attention to their words and knocked them out with a swift kick to each of their chests.
With their groans of pain echoing behind him, Leo kicked open the door to the room.
Inside, he found a large sofa, and Sophia was lying on it, clearly intoxicated, twisting her body.
A man stood beside the sofa, in the process of taking off his shirt. Upon hearing the loud crash, he turned around.
When he saw a stranger entering, the man immediately shouted, “Who the hell are you? How dare you barge in!?”
As Morgan finished speaking, he realized his mistake. He had arranged for two people to guard outside, yet this man had managed to enter, clearly having taken care of the guards outside.
Leo, filled with rage, shot Morgan a glare, then lunged forward, delivering a powerful kick to Morgan’s abdomen.
Morgan was sent flying, crashing harshly into the wall. Upon landing, a mouthful of blood sprayed from his mouth.
Leo quickly crouched in front of the sofa, calling out Sophia’s name.
Sophia slowly opened her dazed eyes. When she saw that it was Leo, a faint smile graced her lips. Then, her head tilted to the side, and she passed out.
“Damn it, why did you kick me?” The man wiped blood from his mouth and angrily demanded.
At this moment, Lydia also ran into the room and was stunned by what she saw.
After checking Sophia’s pulse and confirming she was okay, Leo instructed Lydia to take care of Sophia. Then, he got to his feet and rushed over to Morgan. He grabbed the man’s collar and delivered a series of resounding slaps across his face.
When Leo finally stopped, the man’s head was swollen like a pig’s.
At this point, Tiffany Clarissa, the owner of Mirror Reflections, arrived with a group of people.
She saw Morgan writhing on the ground in agony and quickly rushed over, pushing Leo away and helping Morgan to his feet. “Mr. Christy, what happened to you? Oh, you’re bleeding so much! Someone, please call an ambulance!”
Although Morgan was just a cosmetics distributor, he had strong ties to the Langstel the William family, and his connection to the Wang family ran deep through this hotel. That’s why she was so frantic upon seeing Morgan beaten in this state.
Morgan, though badly beaten, was not in mortal danger. However, he worked for the powerful William family in Langstel, and the hotel was closely connected to them. Clarissa couldn’t afford to offend them.
While Morgan was badly beaten and struggling to catch his breath, he wasn’t in immediate danger. Clarissa supported him with one hand and pointed at Leo, sternly saying, “Kid, you dare to start a fight on my turf. Looks like you’re asking for trouble!”
Leo, wearing a puzzled expression, retorted, “Start a fight? Where did you see me hitting him?”
“Don’t play dumb with me. You intentionally harmed him. Get ready to face the consequences!” Clarissa reached for her phone, pretending to call the police.
“Oh, really? Go ahead, call the police. When they arrive, they can decide whether to arrest me or the clueless fool by your side!” Leo showed no fear.
In reality, Clarissa knew what Morgan had intended to do today. The first drink Sophia had was laced with a substance secretly arranged by Clarissa. Therefore, she dared not involve the police.
Morgan, seemingly indestructible, pushed away Clarissa, who was helping him, and then grabbed a fruit knife from a nearby table. He pointed it at Leo, saying, “You bastard, you damn well dared to attack me. Today, I’m making sure you don’t leave here alive!”
