Chapter 253: Not Letting You Go

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

Cliff, after all, was a man. Provoked to the point where his rationality was temporarily suppressed, his anger surged, and he grabbed a wine bottle and swung it towards Ford’s head.
Ford reacted incredibly quickly, letting go of Cherry’s hand, taking a step back, and then kicked towards Cliff.
The wine bottle in Cliff’s hand missed Ford and was sent flying by Ford’s kick, crashing violently into a table.
For a moment, Cliff’s painful screams mixed with the sound of shattering dishes and plates.
Leo, who was nearby, witnessed Ford’s kick against Cliff and his eyes showed a hint of surprise. Leo had initially thought Ford was just a playboy, but it seemed that he might know martial arts as well.
After Cliff was sent flying, Ford’s companions didn’t let him off either. They rushed forward and started punching and kicking him.
After all, they enjoyed nothing more than beating someone when they were down.
For a while, the sounds of screams filled the air, and the restaurant’s staff and management, like before, remained consciously indifferent to the scene.
“What an ignorant fool!” Ford spat out, holding Cherry and preparing to leave for the private room he had reserved.
As they walked a few steps, Cherry noticed Leo.
A look of hatred flashed in her eyes, and she whispered something to Ford.
Ford’s lips curled into a cold smile, and he grabbed a wine bottle from a nearby table, then hurled it toward Leo.
“Bang!”
The wine bottle shattered on the table, splashing wine all over the place and ruining the food on the table.
Curtis stood up from his chair, ready to charge forward, but Leo stopped him.
Watching Ford and Cherry approaching, Leo got up from his chair and asked coldly, “Why did you throw a wine bottle at me?”
“It’s simple. Because Cherry told me that you offended her,” Ford replied, rubbing his wrist and wearing a sinister grin on his face.
Leo remained calm, “I see you’re looking for trouble.”
Ford mockingly said, “Bro, do you even know what you’re saying?”
“Kneel down and apologize, and compensate us for the food, and I might consider letting you go,” Leo said casually.
Once he finished speaking, Ford’s companions erupted in anger, “Kid, you’ve really overstepped your boundaries. Do you know who you’re talking to? He’s Ford, Mr. Gregory! Offend Mr. Gregory, and you won’t escape the consequences!”
Ford waved them off, gesturing for them to be quiet, and looked at Leo with a superior attitude, “Bro, I’m a person of refinement. I don’t want to fight you today. How about this, you kneel down and sincerely apologize to Cherry, and then compensate her with one million in emotional damages. Today, I’ll spare you.”
Cherry glared at Leo with cold eyes, her pent-up anger finally vented.
“I’ll count to three. If you don’t do as I said, I’ll make you understand how red your blood is,” Leo said, looking at Ford as if he were an ant.
“Damn, you’re really pushing it, making me lose face. I’ll show you today what happens when you mess with me!” Ford waved his hand and signaled his bodyguards, “Get him!”
Ford took a step back, and the three men who looked like his bodyguards were about to move forward to teach Leo a lesson.
“Stop!” A voice suddenly exploded in the restaurant.
At the restaurant’s entrance, Bob Abe, that convenience store owner appeared, accompanied by more than ten men dressed in black suits.
Bob’s arrival caused Ford’s facial muscles to tense up.
“Ford, if you dare lay a finger on him, I’ll make sure you have nowhere to be buried,” Bob said, walking up to Ford with ice-cold eyes.
Ford sneered, looking at Bob, “Bob, what’s your relationship with him? Why are you helping him?”
“He’s my friend!” Bob’s voice left no room for doubt.
“Huh, you just got back, and you’re already being so audacious. This guy is nothing but a freeloading scumbag. Are you sure you want to offend me for him?” Ford said confidently.
Ford spoke with confidence because, although his family in Langstel was just a second-rate family, they had recently gained support from a martial arts sect. Ford had also joined this martial arts sect and had even found himself a master.
With the help of the martial arts sect, Ford not only became the general manager of Spring Wind Cosmetics but also gained control over some of the underworld’s forces. This naturally brought him into contact with Bob, who used to be a big player in Langstel’s underworld.
Bob coldly smiled, “Do you not understand human language? Get out of here right now, or I’ll make you leave lying down!”
As Bob’s words fell, his men surrounded Ford and his group.
As they say, those who recognize the situation are the ones who prosper. Even though Ford had joined the martial arts sect, he had only recently started to grasp it and hadn’t yet cultivated any internal power. Realizing that he wouldn’t fare well today against Bob, he sneered and said, “For you, I won’t make things difficult for him today.”
With these words, Ford shot Leo a sinister look and continued, “Kid, Bob might protect you for now, but he can’t protect you forever. Remember this, never fall into my hands, or you’ll regret it.”
Ford then made a dismissive gesture, indicating his intention to leave with his entourage of bodyguards and Cherry.
Leo’s voice broke the silence behind Ford, cold and unwavering. “Did I ever tell you that you could leave?”
Ford swiftly turned around, his eyes locking onto Leo. “Do you really think that Bob’s protection makes you untouchable?”
Leo remained unfazed, speaking in a reasonable tone, “I don’t care if you can or can’t touch me physically. The issue here is that you threw a bottle at me, disrupting my meal and soiling my clothes. Therefore, you owe me an apology and a compensation of one million dollars. Only then can you leave.”
Cherry watched Leo in disbelief, her eyes wide and her mouth agape. It was as if she was witnessing a madman.
Memories of what happened in President Leacock’s office at Cloud Dream Mountain real estate center flashed through Cherry’s mind. Could this man, who appeared to be a freeloader, really be more formidable than Ford?
Ford, seething with anger but feeling cornered, directed a sneer at Bob. “Bob, I’ve never encountered such audacity. Regardless of whether you’re protecting him or not, I swear I’ll ruin this freeloading loser!”
With a dismissive wave of his hand, Ford’s bodyguards swiftly drew their guns from their waists, aiming them simultaneously at Bob and Leo. However, at that moment, faint sounds of breaking air pierced the atmosphere. Silver streaks darted through the air, and the three bodyguards cried out in pain as their guns fell to the ground. Each of them had a silver knife embedded in their wrists, causing blood to drip profusely onto the floor.
“Who the hell hiding there tried to kill my people? I’ll kill your entire family!” Ford roared furiously.
