In Amanda’s eyes, Leo immediately turned into a potential customer, and she didn’t hesitate to step forward, intercepting Irene.
“Irene, there’s another customer coming in to look at cars. Please go attend to them, and I’ll take care of this customer,” Amanda said with a smile, instructing Irene.
Irene hesitated for a moment and quickly responded, “Manager, he’s my customer. We’ve already discussed his purchase, and he’s ready to make the payment…”
Irene knew exactly what Amanda meant. Even though Amanda was a long-time employee of the dealership, she had no right to take Irene’s customer. Irene’s base salary was low, and the commission from this sale meant a significant income for her this month.
Upon hearing Irene’s response, Amanda’s expression turned stern, and she spoke with a condescending tone. “Irene, you’re a new employee here, and this kind of attitude won’t do. We’re colleagues, working towards the same goal, so we shouldn’t draw such clear boundaries.”
“Besides, you haven’t been here for long, and you haven’t fully mastered the entire car purchasing procedures. If you make a mistake, it’ll be troublesome. So, you go attend to the new customers who just arrived, and I’ll take care of this customer.”
Amanda’s unreasonable words left Irene with a reddening face and a sense of injustice. She didn’t know how to refute Amanda, so she stood there looking uncomfortable.
“Sir, Irene is a new employee in our store, and she’s not yet fully familiar with our procedures. Allow me to assist you with your purchase. You’re interested in buying the car outright, correct? Please follow me,” Amanda said with a smile, extending her hand in a welcoming gesture.
“Get lost!”
“Sir, I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that. What did you say?” Amanda pretended not to hear clearly, though she had indeed heard him. She suspected she had misheard, her face showing a slight change.
Leo said each word slowly, “I told you to get lost.”
This time, Leo’s voice was loud and clear, drawing the attention of onlookers.
Amanda relied on her seniority and often took advantage of new employees, thinking they wouldn’t object. She didn’t expect Leo to tell her to get lost.
Noticing that people were now watching, Amanda couldn’t maintain her composure. Even though Amanda thought Irene would leave without any objections, she never expected Leo to demand that she leave. Amanda felt her pride was at stake and that she needed to regain her dignity.
“Young man, don’t think I don’t know you can’t afford an Audi A8L. I was being courteous to you, and you dared to insult me. If you don’t give me an explanation today, we’re not finished!” Amanda shouted, her hands on her hips.
Some of the salesmen who were watching the spectacle began to discuss the situation.
“I think Manager is right. Look at how he’s dressed; he can’t possibly afford an Audi A8.”
“That guy is probably just here to show off and get some attention at our dealership. How dare he tell Manager to get lost? He doesn’t know his place.”
“Do you think we should go help Manager and teach him a lesson later?”
The salesmen and some curious customers started whispering about Leo.
Hearing some of the salesmen considering supporting Amanda, her confidence grew. She stood tall and stared Leo down.
As the tension escalated, Irene quickly intervened, saying, “Manager, don’t be angry. This gentleman is indeed here to buy a car.”
“A car? Look at his appearance. Does he look like someone who can afford a car?” Amanda retorted coldly.
Leo smirked, saying, “I’ll give you one more chance. Get out of my sight immediately, or I won’t be polite with you.”
“Oh, really? I’d like to see how you won’t be polite with me,” Amanda retorted, moving closer to Leo.
Leo caught a whiff of garlic from her breath and instinctively took two steps back. These two steps gave Amanda the mistaken impression that Leo was afraid of her. She raised her hand and tried to slap Leo in the face.
Leo effortlessly dodged her attack and secretly retaliated with a surge of internal energy. Amanda stumbled forward and fell to the ground in a comical manner.
“Ouch…”
Falling in a ridiculous manner, Amanda’s painful cry drew laughter from several onlookers.
“Kid, you… you dared to hit me!” Amanda, in pain, struggled to get up from the ground. She pointed her finger at Leo with a fierce expression.
Leo wore an innocent look on his face and said, “Everyone can testify that you wanted to hit me. I didn’t even touch you.”
Amanda, seemingly experiencing an early onset of menopause, couldn’t contain her rage as she looked at Leo’s innocent expression. She raised her hand once again to slap Leo in the face.
Just like before, Leo effortlessly sidestepped her attack. This time, Amanda’s fall was more pronounced, and she twisted her ankle, making it impossible for her to stand.
After two inexplicable falls, Amanda lost her composure and pointed at the male salesmen who were watching the scene unfold. She shouted, “What are you fools standing there for? He’s bullying me! Help me beat him up!”
No one moved because they clearly saw that Amanda had initiated the aggression by attempting to strike Leo and had subsequently fallen on her own. Additionally, Amanda wasn’t particularly well-liked among her colleagues, so no one was eager to assist her.
Leo glanced at Irene and said, “Let’s go to the front desk to swipe the card and complete the paperwork.”
Irene was still in shock from seeing Amanda humiliated like this. Upon hearing Leo’s words, she snapped back to attention and quickly led Leo to the service desk to complete the car purchase process.
Irene remained professional, and the entire car purchase was completed in just over twenty minutes. Afterward, another employee brought out the brand-new Audi A8L, top-of-the-line imported version, from the garage.
Driving the new car, Leo left the Audi dealership and headed to the Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza to pick up Sophia after her work shift.
When Sophia reached the basement parking lot and saw an Audi A8 parked in her spot, she was puzzled. She wondered who had the audacity to park their car in her designated space.
Leo stepped out of the car and patted the vehicle, smiling as he said, “Sophia, hop in.”
Sophia’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she asked, “What’s going on here? Where’s my Mercedes?”
“Your Mercedes had its windshield smashed and is currently at the 4S dealership for repairs. To pick you up after work, I bought a new car,” Leo replied with a grin.
