Extending an olive branch to someone you’ve just met seemed odd to Leo, and he couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable about Manager Arnold’s enthusiasm. After all, their first encounter involved Leo tangling with the security guard, which didn’t warrant such a warm reception. Despite his reservations, Leo followed Manager Arnold towards the sales center.
During their walk, Leo inquired, “Manager Arnold, today I’m here for the qualification verification for the villa auction. Could you please explain the procedure?”
Manager Arnold smiled and replied, “Cloud Dream Mountain’s Villa No. 9 is being auctioned because the original owner has settled abroad. Originally, the auction was scheduled for three months later, but due to some special circumstances, it has been moved up to the 18th of next month. The qualification verification process is quite simple. First, you register at the sales center, then your funds will be confirmed. After that, you’ll receive an auction member card. On the 18th, you can attend the auction with your card.”
As they talked, they entered the sales center. The place was bustling with people today, mostly wealthy people registering for the auction.
With Manager Arnold’s assistance, Leo quickly completed the registration. Manager Arnold then informed him that the fund confirmation process would take place in a separate room.
Leo had no reason to doubt him, so he followed Manager Arnold into an elevator. To his surprise, the elevator descended, not ascended. Leo knew that when things seemed unusual, there was usually something amiss. Still, since he was here, he decided to see what Manager Arnold had up his sleeve.
The elevator quickly reached the basement level, and Manager Arnold, still wearing a smile, gestured, “Mr. Bloomer, please follow me.”
Leo remained silent, his face expressionless, as he followed Manager Arnold to a room with a closed door.
“Mr. Bloomer, the qualification verification takes place inside this room,” Manager Arnold said, still wearing a polite smile, as he pushed open the door.
A wry smile played on Leo’s lips, and he entered the room without a word. As soon as he stepped inside, the door slammed shut with a loud “bang.” Subsequently, the dim lights inside the room flickered to life.
Leo swept his cold gaze across the room and realized he was surrounded by “old friends.” Among them were Barry, Colby, and Antony.
Antony grinned as he looked at Leo and said, “Leo, you didn’t expect to find us here.”
Leo replied calmly, “Indeed, I didn’t. I assume you three are the William brothers?”
Colby nodded, saying, “That’s right. Antony is my elder brother. Barry is my younger brother. Unfortunately, you’ve offended all three of us. Antony wants your hands, and Barry and I want your legs.”
Earlier, when Leo was being taunted by the security guard, Barry, who was getting ready to head to the sales center after parking his car, happened to see him. So, they decided to put on a show with Manager Arnold’s cooperation to lure Leo into this room.
Leo sneered, “I see you three haven’t had enough of me yet. You’re not very good at remembering your lessons. Today, I’ll make sure you leave with unforgettable memories.”
Barry stood up from the couch, pointing angrily at Leo, “Kid, you think having some skills makes you invincible in Langstel? You’re about to learn just how miserable the fate of those who cross we three William brothers can be!”
Leo’s expression remained unimpressed as he replied, “Is that so? Just you three losers?”
“Barry, don’t waste your breath on this loser. Sit down and enjoy the show,” Antony sneered, then clapped his hands. “Master Boswell, it’s your turn.”
As soon as Antony finished speaking, a side door in the room creaked open, and a man walked out.
This man was dressed in an orange Daoist robe, his hair fashioned in a Daoist topknot, and he carried a peachwood sword on his back. He had a lean build and looked the part of a martial artist, likely at the level of an intermediate warrior.
To Leo’s standards today, this level was nothing. Leo observed Master Boswell while the latter sized him up. In Master Boswell’s eyes, Leo appeared as an ordinary person. He couldn’t fathom why the three William brothers had sought his assistance. It was like using a cannon to kill a mosquito, a gross overestimation of the task at hand.
Master Boswell believed that he could easily overpower the man in front of him with just a flick of his fingers. He had come out today only as a favor to the William family.
Master Boswell had no intention of wasting his precious time. He swayed forward and appeared right in front of Leo. In a lightning-fast motion, he reached out to grab Leo’s neck.
Leo remained still, his leg charged with spiritual power, and he delivered a powerful kick.
“Bang!”
A muffled sound reverberated. Before the shocked eyes of the William brothers, a yellow figure was sent flying and slammed into the wall.
“Boom!” The entire room seemed to tremble.
Master Boswell lay on the ground, coughing up blood and unmoving.
The William brothers stared in astonishment, trying to make sense of the situation. Master Boswell was an extraordinary martial artist, and yet Leo had defeated him with a single kick.
The William brothers’ worldview and beliefs were shattered. They had assumed that with Master Boswell’s involvement, Leo wouldn’t be able to leave this place intact. However, reality had delivered a resounding slap in their faces.
“Is there anyone else?” Leo asked calmly, his gaze fixed on the three of them.
Antony, regaining his composure, forced a smile and said, “Leo, we were just playing a little prank on you.”
Antony signaled to Colby and Barry, “Colby, Barry, let’s go.”
Having witnessed Leo’s horrifying abilities, the three brothers had no intention of staying a second longer in this room. They stood up, preparing to leave.
“Did I say you could leave?” Leo’s voice echoed through the room, sending a chilling sensation down their spines.
“Leo, what are you planning?” Colby, although nervous, was the first to speak up, as he didn’t have the same understanding of Leo’s abilities as Antony and Barry.
Leo moved swiftly, appearing right in front of Colby, and with a casual flick of his hand, a resounding “smack” echoed as Colby was slapped onto the ground.
Immediately after, two crisp slapping sounds followed, as Antony and Barry joined Colby on the floor.
Manager Arnold, who had been listening for any commotion inside the room, heard the sounds of slaps and people falling to the ground. He opened the door to investigate.
“Gentlemen, I also would like to give him…” Manager Arnold’s words were abruptly cut off, as if someone had suddenly choked him. He couldn’t utter another word.
Initially, Manager Arnold thought that Leo had been thoroughly tortured by the people inside the room, but to his surprise, Leo was standing there, seemingly unharmed. As for Antony and the others, they were lying on the floor, clutching their faces in pain.
In a brief moment of confusion, Manager Arnold turned and tried to flee.
