Once more!
Immediately, Leo proceeded to draw the third talisman…
When Leo’s wolf-hair brush in his right hand halted, the lines of the talisman on the yellow paper suddenly burst into a golden glow. Leo uttered, “Spirit seal! Formation complete!”
The golden radiance dimmed, and the crimson-and-gold interwoven talisman lines flickered momentarily. Then, a rectangular talisman detached from the center of the yellow paper, as if an invisible blade had cut it out.
Leo extended his left hand, and the talisman gently landed in his palm.
The Little Thunder Talisman was finally successfully drawn!
Leo’s face lit up with surprise as he gazed down at the talisman. In the middle of the talisman, there was a mysterious lightning pattern, looking extremely profound.
Having successfully drawn the first talisman, Leo’s confidence soared. He continued to draw four more Little Thunder Talismans in quick succession. After crafting five of them, Leo experienced two failures but then managed to create three Ice Talismans. Following that, he drew two Gale Talismans.
A total of ten talismans had entirely depleted Leo’s spiritual power. He had to put aside the task of drawing talismans and begin circulating his inner energy using the Nine Heavens Star Chart to recuperate.
Talismans could be categorized into three main types: offensive talismans, defensive talismans, and auxiliary talismans. The Little Thunder Talisman and Ice Talisman Leo had drawn were offensive talismans, while the Gale Talisman was an auxiliary talisman.
The level of talismans that Leo could currently draw was limited to first-level talismans. The ability to craft higher-level talismans depended on the practitioner’s cultivation level and comprehension.
For Leo at this moment, the highest level of talisman he could create was first-level. It was possible that when his cultivation reached the next stage of a Spirit Master, he might be able to craft second-level talismans. The higher the talisman’s level, the greater the difficulty in crafting it, and as one’s cultivation level increased, the challenges grew as well.
Only Spirit Saints could craft the highest-level, ninth-level talismans. At the Spirit Saint level, one could even create talismans without the need for yellow paper, vermilion ink, or a wolf-hair brush; they could directly form them in the air with their thoughts.
It was akin to shaping symbols from one’s mind, creating talismans in mid-air!
After he finished recuperating, Leo carefully stored away the talismans and the tools used for crafting them. Then, he left the bedroom and exited the villa.
Originally, Leo had planned to pick up Sophia from the Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza after her work. However, shortly after he left the house, Sophia called and asked him to pick up someone at the high-speed railway station.
It turned out that Sophia’s uncle’s family had arrived in Langstel.
Sophia’s uncle was Jessica’s younger brother, named Keith Gunter. If one were to describe him in short, it would be “smart-aleck.” Keith was the master of witty banter, and Leo immediately thought of him when it came to people skilled in this area.
Keith had a son named Barry. When it came to describing Barry’s appearance, the first impression that came to mind was “creepy.”
Perhaps he had inherited his father’s “exquisite” genes, Barry was also skilled in boasting without restraint, and he was extremely vain.
As for Keith’s wife, Monica, she was just as eccentric as Sandy, if not more so.
Leo had a particularly vivid memory related to Monica.
Two years ago, when Barry was dumped by his girlfriend, in order to help her son save face, Monica pretended to be a wealthy woman. She rented a McLaren supercar and arrived at the scene of Barry’s breakup with his ex-girlfriend, openly saying she was Barry’s sugar mommy…
Leo had heard about this from Jessica, and it had left a lasting impression on him. It certainly challenged his values.
Regardless, Leo couldn’t help but “admire” this eccentric family.
At five o’clock in the afternoon, Keith’s family of three walked out of the high-speed railway station, and Leo went over to pick them up.
When Keith saw Leo, his initially cheerful expression immediately turned sour. He looked at Leo with a disdainful tone and asked, “Leo, why are you here instead of Martin and the others?”
Leo was well aware of the nature of this family. They had no talents but wanted to show off, without first considering their own capabilities. “My parents had something come up and couldn’t make it, so they asked me to pick you up,” Leo replied.
Upon hearing this, Keith snorted coldly and didn’t want to say anything more. Monica, however, couldn’t help but complain in an affected manner, “The Henleys are getting more and more snobbish. They casually sent someone unrelated to pick us up. Clearly, they don’t take us seriously. It’s outrageous!”
A displeased expression appeared on Keith’s face as he glanced at Leo. “Let’s go.”
When dealing with this eccentric family, Leo knew it was wise to speak as little as possible. He led them to the parking lot.
When they reached the car, Barry, whether absentmindedly or intentionally, opened the car door and sat in the driver’s seat. Then, in a high-handed manner, he reached out his hand towards Leo and said, “Give me the car keys.”
“Can you even drive?” Leo asked deliberately.
“Of course!” Barry replied with an irritated and arrogant expression. “Hurry up and give them to me!”
Seeing that Leo didn’t want to hand over the keys, Keith raised his voice and said, “Leo, you need to understand that this car belongs to Sophia, not you. Give the keys to Barry. Otherwise, when we get back, I’ll have my sister punish you.”
Monica also took the opportunity to chime in, “If you’re a freeloader, you should be prepared for the consequences. Don’t think that just because you live off the Henleys, you’re also a rich man.”
Leo figured that if he didn’t give Barry the car keys, this family would likely spend an hour or two arguing here. So, he tossed the keys to Barry.
Barry hurriedly picked up the keys and then took out his phone. He aimed it at the steering wheel and took a picture before posting a social media update.
If it’s not your car, you won’t cherish it-those words were appropriate in any situation.
With that, Barry started the car and accelerated. If he hadn’t slammed on the brakes, he would have rear-ended the vehicle in front of them.
Once they left the parking lot, Barry began to show off his driving skills, overtaking other cars recklessly and nearly running red lights multiple times.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Leo felt like throttling him.
As they neared the villa, Barry, for some reason or another, either lost focus or did it deliberately. The car veered to the side and collided with the curb.
When they got out of the car to inspect the damage, they found that the right headlight of the Mercedes-Benz E300L was damaged, and there was a large dent in the front bumper.
Keith and Monica exchanged glances, their faces darkening.
While this Mercedes-Benz E300L might not be considered a luxury car, it was still a good car that only affluent people could afford. Although it had only damaged a headlight and the bumper, the repair costs were bound to be expensive.
Monica, displeased, reprimanded Barry, “You fool, can’t you drive properly?”
“Mom, I was just thinking about finding a wife earlier and got distracted. Now, what should I do? Will Sophia make me pay for this?” Barry was a bit worried.
Monica’s eyes lit up with an idea. She reached for the car keys from the steering wheel and handed them to Leo. “You drive.”
Leo knew what Monica was planning and couldn’t be bothered to argue with them here. He got in the car and drove them into the block.
