“I gave you a chance, and you didn’t appreciate it,” Leo gripped Noah’s throat, his voice cold.
“Leo, let me make it clear. You’ve offended the wrong person,” Noah’s heart trembled, but he maintained a tough exterior.
Leo’s grip on Noah’s throat tightened slightly. “Take me to Bob Abe right now, or I’ll snap your neck!”
With oxygen running thin, Noah’s face started turning purple, and dizziness clouded his mind. He feared Leo might lose control and kill him, an undeserved death.
“Relax, take… me to… him,” Noah struggled to speak coherently.
Leo circled around Noah, still holding his throat, and made him lead the way.
Outside, Noah’s underlings witnessed this scene. They were ready to attack Leo, but seeing their boss held captive, they hesitated.
“Leo, I advise you to stop now. I can let this go, or else you’ll regret your actions today!” Noah threatened.
Leo’s grip suddenly tightened, causing immense pain and suffocation. Noah almost collapsed.
“No more talking. I’ll finish you off right now,” Leo’s voice turned icy.
Noah dared not speak again.
In the room where Bob was held, Leo ordered Noah’s men to leave.
Seeing Bob hanging on the iron frame, Leo was taken aback. He kicked Noah aside and asked Bob, “Are you alive?”
Struggling, Bob lifted his head, and upon seeing Leo, he hesitated, “Why are you here?”
“Your convenience store wasn’t open, and I wanted cigarettes, so I came looking for you,” Leo replied with a faint smile.
Bob smiled weakly at his response, “Leo, don’t mind me. Noah isn’t someone you should mess with. Leave here quickly!”
“Since I’m here, I’m taking you with me. Don’t worry, Noah’s just a bump in the road.”
Leo flicked his fingers twice, and the iron chains binding Bob’s hands snapped.
Bob almost fell to the ground, and Leo rushed to support him.
After catching his breath, Bob managed to stand. He approached Noah, who was still sprawled on the floor after Leo’s kick.
“Noah, where’s my wife?” Bob grabbed a fistful of Noah’s hair.
The earlier kick had wounded Noah; blood oozed from his mouth. He spat out a mouthful of blood and maliciously said, “Bob, your wife’s dead. You won’t see her again in this lifetime.”
“Bang, bang, bang…”
Bob went completely berserk, raining punches on Noah’s head.
If Bob continued, he would literally beat Noah to death. Leo quickly grabbed Bob’s hand. “Calm down. If you kill him, you’ll never find your wife.”
Bob halted his assault.
By now, Noah’s face was bloody, one eye swollen shut. He remained silent, his remaining eye filled with hatred for Leo and Bob.
“Noah, I’ll ask you again: Where’s my wife?” Bob’s voice seemed to echo from the abyss. If Noah remained silent, he could actually kill him.
With one eye, Noah stared at Bob and coldly said, “I’ll answer you one last time. She’s dead! Even if you kill me, you won’t leave this place alive. You’ll die with me!”
Bob let go of Noah’s hair. “If you want to die that badly, I’ll oblige!”
Bob moved to the side of the iron frame and picked up a knife from the table.
“Bob, if you kill me, everyone here will die with me! None of you will leave here alive!”
Leo noticed fear in Noah’s eyes.
Bob squatted beside Noah and raised the knife.
This time, Leo didn’t stop him.
As the knife was about to strike, Noah’s mental defenses finally shattered. He desperately begged, “Stop! I’ll tell you!”
In the room next door, a cramped dark room, Bob found his wife.
Luckily, he arrived just in time; she was barely hanging on.
Leo began treating her.
Half an hour later, Leo managed to pull Bob’s wife back from the brink of death.
Bob cradled his wife, and Leo subdued all of Noah’s men. Together, they left the underground arena.
As for Noah, with his tendons severed by Bob, he was now a cripple.
Upon leaving the underground arena, Bob made up his mind. He would reclaim everything he had once given up.
This incident involving his wife made him realize that only with absolute strength could he protect the ones he loved.
After dropping Bob and his wife at home, Leo left behind a prescription and departed. Next, Leo drove towards Cloud Dream Mountain, feeling a subtle sensation that his cultivation was on the verge of a breakthrough.
The events surrounding Bob had also made Leo comprehend a fundamental truth: To ensure the safety and stability of himself and those he cared about, he needed to become strong enough.
In the following month, the production line of Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company had been fully upgraded and was in the trial phase. Soon, the first batch of cosmetics would be delivered to Sophia Cosmetics.
Since Alvin was already the factory manager, he took charge of Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company, and Leo trusted him.
Leo mainly focused on two aspects at Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company: cost and profit.
That day, the Nameless Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic quietly opened.
What surprised Leo was that even when the clinic was under renovation, patients occasionally came in for consultation. Yet, now that it was reopened after renovation, it was strangely deserted.
Just as Leo was about to head to the backyard to check on Don and his daughter, a man rushed in holding a little boy in his arms.
“Is there a doctor? Please, save my son!” The man was frantic.
Leo hurried over. “Quick, lay the child down on the bed.”
The man carefully placed his son on a mobile bed in the lobby.
Leo assessed the situation and quickly determined, “Your son is showing symptoms of poisoning. Did he ingest something?”
Upon hearing the word “poisoning,” the man seemed stunned.
“I don’t know. My son was attending the elementary school nearby. I finished work and went to pick him up. He passed out halfway home.”
Leo took out a silver needle from his pocket, preparing to administer treatment.
At that moment, a man in a white coat rushed in, carrying a medical kit on his shoulder.
